As war looms, a tense atmosphere descends upon the mansion. Despite the heavy responsibilities shouldered by Ling Xiaotian and Cheng Yuwei, their bond grows stronger amidst this turbulent time.

On this day, Ling Xiaotian was about to lead his troops to the border. Before leaving, he carefully arranged the defense of the mansion. Turning to Cheng Yuwei, he urged, "Take good care of yourself while I'm away."

Cheng Yuwei felt a little reluctant when she heard his earnest words, but she still smiled calmly and said softly, "Go ahead. I'll wait for you here until you return triumphantly."

A few days later, Ling Xiaotian was finally able to return to the mansion temporarily, bringing back news that the border had been pacified. Everyone in the mansion was jubilant, and Cheng Yuwei even greeted him at the door. Seeing him exhausted yet still energetic, she felt both distressed and relieved.

"Thank you for your hard work." She said softly, her eyes full of tenderness.

Ling Xiaotian smiled slightly, reached out and gently stroked her face, and whispered: "If I hadn't been thinking about you, I would have been exhausted long ago."

Cheng Yuwei's heart ached. She pulled him back to the mansion, carefully prepared hot water for him, and personally untied his armor for him. Cheng Yuwei's eyes glared when she heard this: "It seems they are planning to attack you again when you are least prepared, completely disrupting order at the border and in the city."

Ling Xiaotian snorted coldly, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes: "They want to disrupt me, but they forget that all conspiracies are just tricks in front of me."

He turned to look at Cheng Yuwei and said softly, "Yuwei, this time I need your help in setting up the defenses in the city. I have always trusted your talents."

Cheng Yuwei smiled slightly and nodded, "Don't worry, I will definitely help you defend this city."

Ling Xiaotian gazed at her deeply and said gently but firmly, "Yuwei, as long as you are here, I have nothing to fear."
