Years turn into wind

With his victories on the battlefield, Ling Xiaotian's power grew, attracting more hostility and assassination attempts. One night, Cheng Yuwei was busy in the laboratory when she suddenly noticed an unusual silence. Cheng Yuwei slumped on the ground, gasping for breath, her back soaked with cold sweat. Ling Xiaotian walked up to her and frowned, "Are you okay?"

Cheng Yuwei shook her head and struggled to stand up, still feeling frightened.

"It seems that someone doesn't want you to stay with me." Ling Xiaotian said coldly, with a dangerous glint in his eyes.

Cheng Yuwei raised her head, her eyes firm: "I'm not afraid. I've come this far and I won't back down easily."

Ling Xiaotian glanced at her and nodded slowly: "Very good, you are stronger than I thought."

The assassination that night made Cheng Yuwei realize that she had been drawn deeper and deeper into the world of power struggle. She was no longer just an insignificant bystander, but a threat in the eyes of some people.
