Years turn into wind

His voice was gentle and low, with an unconcealable deep affection. Cheng Yuwei leaned gently against his chest, her heartbeat quickening, as if the silence of the moment had made all the noise far away from them.

Ling Xiaotian was silent for a moment, then nodded with a firm look in his eyes.

A few days later, Ling Xiaotian devised a clever trap, setting an ambush to lure out the enemy spies lurking in the town. As night fell, the town became unusually quiet. Cheng Yuwei sat in the dimly lit pharmacy, a hint of nervousness welling up in her heart.

Soon, faint footsteps were heard outside the pharmacy. Cheng Yuwei glanced at the faint candlelight in her hand and sat calmly at the table. Just as the other party attempted to approach, Ling Xiaotian's secret guards suddenly surged out from all sides, tightly surrounding the intruders.

The blue-shirted man leading the group's group's expression changed drastically. He demanded in a cold voice, "How dare you stop us? Don't you know I'm an envoy sent by the northern forces?"

Seeing the situation was hopeless, the man in blue fled in panic. Ling Xiaotian's eyes were cold, and he whispered to the secret guards beside him, "Send a message to all the forces around here. From now on, if anyone dares to disturb my peaceful life again, I will show no mercy."

The next morning, Cheng Yuwei was drying herbs in the yard when Ling Xiaotian slowly approached with a smile in his eyes: "Yuwei, from now on, we should be able to enjoy true peace and quiet."

Cheng Yuwei looked up at him, the worry in her heart finally dissipated, and she smiled slightly: "Xiaotian, thank you for protecting me."

Ling Xiaotian hugged her gently and said softly, "Because you are here, I am willing to protect this peaceful place. There are too many troubles in this world, and you are the only one I care about."
