Years turn into wind

A few days later, Lu Zhirou was escorted out of the mansion, ostensibly to "recuperate," but in reality, she was secretly under house arrest. This purge temporarily restored peace within the Marshal's mansion. However, Cheng Yuwei and Ling Xiaotian both knew that this tranquility was only superficial; danger still lurked beneath the surface.

After everything calmed down, Ling Xiaotian decided to arrange a special "date" to soothe Cheng Yuwei's nervousness and to ensure that the rare sweet moments between them would not be interrupted by war and conspiracy.

As night fell, Cheng Yuwei was about to go back to her room to rest when she suddenly received a small note. The note contained only a few words: "See you tonight at the Moon Pavilion."

Cheng Yuwei was stunned for a moment, then her heart warmed. She immediately understood that this must be a "date" arranged by Ling Xiaotian. She had deliberately chosen a simple and elegant blue shirt, and her slightly curly hair was casually tied up, revealing a unique tenderness.

When she arrived at the Moonlight Pavilion, she could see Ling Xiaotian standing in the pavilion from afar, dressed in a cyan robe, quietly waiting for her. The night breeze blew gently, and his figure appeared particularly gentle and steady in the moonlight.

Cheng Yuwei walked over gently, smiled and joked, "The Marshal is usually very busy, how come he has the leisure time tonight?"

Ling Xiaotian turned to look at her, a smile playing on his lips: "Perhaps it's because you have your sweetheart by your side that you want to make some time. Let's go, there's a place I want to show you up ahead."

He gently took Cheng Yuwei's hand, and the two of them slowly walked along the path into the mountains.

The mountain air was fresh, and as the night breeze blew past, Cheng Yuwei's guard gradually relaxed. Finally, they reached an open area, and the view suddenly opened up. Beneath the vast sky lay a turquoise lake. Moonlight sprinkled on the lake, creating a silvery glow, as if a layer of stars were draped over the water. It was incredibly romantic.

Cheng Yuwei looked at the beautiful scenery in front of her in amazement and couldn't help but sigh: "It's so beautiful... I've never seen such a night view."

Ling Xiaotian stared at her face and whispered, "Yuwei, I brought you here to let you know that this world is not only about war and conspiracy, but also about tranquility and beauty."

He took her hand, interlocked their fingers, and said slowly: "If one day we can leave these fights behind, I just want to spend a night like this with you."

Cheng Yuwei was captivated by his affectionate gaze, and a tender feeling welled up in her heart. She gently leaned on his shoulder, her voice like a whisper: "Do you think that day will really come?"

Ling Xiaotian lowered his head and kissed her hair, saying firmly, "No matter what, I will fight for that day for us."

Just as they were immersed in the sweet atmosphere, a dark shadow quietly flashed through the woods, as if someone was secretly spying on them. Although Ling Xiaotian appeared calm on the surface, his keen vigilance made him aware of the abnormality around him.

He gently hugged Cheng Yuwei and whispered, "Someone is watching us secretly. Don't panic. I will protect you."

Cheng Yuwei nodded. Though nervous, she remained calm and composed. The two of them didn't panic. Instead, they slowly walked toward the lake, feigning obliviousness. Only when they reached a secluded rocky spot did Ling Xiaotian suddenly draw the dagger from his waist and swiftly fling it into the darkness.

A muffled groan was heard immediately, and Ling Xiaotian's eyes were cold: "Show yourself, you're quite courageous to follow us here."

As soon as he finished speaking, a thin man crawled out of the darkness in a panic, his clothes disheveled and his face stained with blood. He stared at Ling Xiaotian with hatred in his eyes.

"Lu Sheng is indeed a villain. He actually sent you to do such a dirty surveillance." Ling Xiaotian sneered.

The man snorted coldly: "Our commander is only seeking revenge. You traitors will be punished sooner or later!"

Cheng Yuwei stood behind Ling Xiaotian and said coldly, "Since you already know the truth, don't say anything more."

Ling Xiaotian smiled slightly and decisively ordered his men to take her away. He then held Cheng Yuwei's hand tightly and said softly, "I'm sorry for letting you experience such an unexpected experience tonight."

Cheng Yuwei shook her head and said with a smile: "Being with you, both the scenery and the dangers become more vivid."

The two looked at each other for a moment, their eyes filled with tenderness. Ling Xiaotian gently pulled her into his arms and whispered, "Yuwei, you and I have been through thick and thin together. No matter how difficult the road ahead, I will be with you until the end."

Cheng Yuwei snuggled in his arms, her heart filled with peace of mind and satisfaction.
