Years turn into wind

As night falls, the Marshal's Mansion appears quiet and peaceful under the dim lights, but a conspiracy is quietly growing in the dark.

Cheng Yuwei sat in her study, a cup of tea and a notebook, absorbed in sketching out a new chemistry experiment. The light from the desk cast a soft, focused light on her profile. Ling Xiaotian pushed the door open and, upon seeing this scene, the corners of his mouth curled up unconsciously.

"Weiwei." He called her softly, with a hint of doting in his voice.

Cheng Yuwei looked up and saw him approaching. She couldn't help but smile: "Why are you here? Didn't you go to the meeting?"

Ling Xiaotian sat down next to her, his eyes fixed on her notes: "The meeting has been arranged, but you are so busy every day, when can you take care of yourself more?"

Cheng Yuwei gently put down her pen and rolled her eyes at him: "My way of taking care of myself is to keep my brain active. Besides, these studies may help you fight a war someday."

"You're always like this." Ling Xiaotian sighed, but couldn't help but reach out and stroke her forehead. "Your heart is full of other people. When have you ever thought about me?"

"You?" Cheng Yuwei smiled and teased him deliberately, "Aren't you the most cared-for person in the entire mansion? Why should I worry about you?"

Cheng Yuwei wanted to say something, but he pulled her hand and led her out of the study.

Strolling through the gardens

The garden of the Marshal's Mansion seemed exceptionally quiet at night, the air filled with the faint fragrance of osmanthus. The two walked side by side, the occasional breeze blowing, lifting Cheng Yuwei's long hair.

Ling Xiaotian turned his head to look at her, his eyes gentle: "Weiwei, sometimes I really hope that the days can just stay peaceful like this, without wars or conspiracies."

Cheng Yuwei was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "This day will definitely come, as long as you persist in doing the right thing."

"But the right thing always comes with a price." Ling Xiaotian sighed softly, "I'm just worried that one day you'll be implicated."

Cheng Yuwei stopped and looked up at him seriously: "Ling Xiaotian, since I have chosen to stand by you, I will not be afraid of any involvement. Besides, haven't you always protected me?"
