Entertainment Secrets: Playing the role of Qilin, Mimi loves it so much

Chapter 213: Corpse-eating swarms, traps triggered

Ye Bai heard Yang Mi's tearful question and turned his head slightly to glance at her. A hint of subtle tenderness flashed across his eyes, but he quickly regained his sternness and said in a deep voice, "I'm not sure, but it's better than just sitting there and waiting to die."

Zhang Dada was trembling beside him, muttering to himself, "I shouldn't have come here earlier. Oh my god, if I can get out of this alive, I'm going to have a big meal and treat myself to a good meal."

Although Meng Ziyi also showed fear, he still pretended to be calm and comforted Yang Mi: "Mi Mi, don't be afraid, we will definitely be able to get out with Ye Bai."

Several people struggled forward in the narrow passage, the flashlight in Ye Bai's hand flickering in the darkness. Suddenly, there was a rustling sound from the front, as if something was crawling. Yang Mi grabbed Meng Ziyi's arm in fear, her voice trembling, "Are those zombies chasing us?"

Ye Bai stopped and shone his flashlight forward, only to see a swarm of small black bugs swarming in like a tide. "Oh no! It's corpse-eating bugs!" Ye Bai cried out.

Zhang Dada was so frightened that his face turned pale: "Corpse-eating insects? Don't they eat people?"

Ye Bai quickly pulled a bottle of insect repellent powder from his backpack and sprinkled it around. As the corpse-bugs neared the edge of the powder, they stopped and began to spin. "Hurry up! This powder won't last long," Ye Bai said.

The group quickened their pace and finally arrived at a slightly more spacious hall. There were four huge stone pillars in the hall, all engraved with strange symbols and patterns. Yang Mi curiously approached one of the pillars, wanting to see the pattern more clearly. Ye Bai pulled her back, "Don't move! This place is full of traps."

Meng Ziyi looked at Ye Bai with a hint of admiration in his eyes: "Ye Bai, how do you know so much? Did you often rob tombs in the past?" Ye Bai rolled her eyes at her: "I just have some research on history and archaeology, this is not tomb robbing."

At this moment, the floor of the hall suddenly began to shake, and a stone platform slowly rose in the middle. On the stone platform was an exquisite box.

Zhang Dada's eyes lit up: "There must be a treasure in this box! Maybe it's a priceless treasure." As he said that, he wanted to go up and take it.

Ye Bai stopped him: "Are you trying to kill yourself? This could very well be a trap." Zhang Dada reluctantly withdrew his hand: "But maybe there's something in there that can help us get out."

Ye Bai carefully examined the stone platform and the box, noting a small hole on the box, similar in shape to the bronze medallion they had found. With a sudden thought, he took out the medallion and carefully inserted it into the hole. When the medallion was fully inserted, the box opened with a slight click.

Inside was a worn-out ancient book. Ye Bai picked it up and flipped open the book. The words on it were ancient and obscure. Yang Mi came over and asked, "What's written on it?"

Ye Bai shook his head: "I don't understand it yet, but it should be related to the secret of this ancient tomb."

Suddenly, numerous hidden arrow holes appeared on the hall's walls, startling everyone. Ye Bai quickly returned the ancient book to its box and took Yang Mi behind a stone pillar. Hidden arrows rained down, a few grazing past them.

"What should we do? We're trapped here!" Meng Ziyi said anxiously. Ye Bai observed the surrounding situation while thinking about countermeasures. He found some protruding stones on the stone pillar, which seemed to be arranged in a certain order.

Ye Bai shouted to Zhang Dada, "Go to the third stone pillar from the left and press down the protruding stones in order from top to bottom." Zhang Dada hesitated, "What if there's a trap?" Ye Bai said impatiently, "If we don't try, we'll all die here."

Zhang Dada gritted his teeth, walked cautiously towards the stone pillar, and pressed the stone according to Ye Bai's instructions. A miracle happened, and the hidden arrows gradually stopped firing.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Ye Bai continued to study the ancient book. He discovered that the paper seemed to have been specially treated. Under the light of the flashlight, some hidden patterns appeared. These patterns seemed to be related to the layout of the stone pillars in the hall.

Ye Bai stood up and paced the hall, pondering the relationship between the patterns and the stone pillars. Suddenly, an idea struck him: "I know! The positions of these stone pillars are arranged according to the Bagua formation. We need to rotate the stone pillars according to the instructions in the ancient text."

So, under Ye Bai's command, everyone worked together to turn the stone pillars. When the last stone pillar was turned into place, the wall on one side of the hall slowly opened, revealing a new passage.

Ye Bai was the first to enter the passage, followed closely by the others. A pungent smell filled the air, and fluorescent substances flickered on the walls.

As she was walking, Yang Mi felt her feet go empty and her body fell downwards. "Ah!" she screamed in terror.

Ye Bai reacted quickly, turned around and grabbed Yang Mi's hand: "Don't panic!" Zhang Dada and Meng Ziyi also hurried over to help and pulled Yang Mi up.

Yang Mi was so frightened that her face turned pale, and tears welled up in her eyes. Meng Ziyi comforted her softly: "It's okay, Mimi."

Continuing forward, they came to a large pool of water. The water was a strange dark green, and mist hung over the surface. Ye Bai picked up a stone and threw it into the water. The stone instantly disappeared without a ripple.

"There's something wrong with this water." Ye Bai said. Zhang Dada scratched his head: "Then how do we get through?"

Ye Bai observed the area around the pool and spotted a stone gate on the other side. After a moment's thought, he pulled a rope from his backpack and swung it towards a rock on the other side. The rope successfully caught. After testing the rope's strength, Ye Bai said to the others, "I'll go first. You all follow me one by one."

Ye Bai grasped the rope and carefully slid toward the other side. Just as he was about to reach the other side, a huge tentacle suddenly emerged from the water and curled towards Ye Bai. Ye Bai quickly drew the dagger from his waist and cut the tentacle off. Green blood splashed onto the water, making a sizzling sound.

"Ye Bai, are you okay?" Yang Mi shouted worriedly. Ye Bai shouted, "I'm fine, be careful."

The others, one by one, reached the other side via the ropes. Ye Bai walked towards the stone gate and found a circular groove on it that perfectly matched the size of their bronze medal. Ye Bai placed the medal in the groove, and the stone gate slowly opened.

A pitch-black darkness appeared inside the stone gate.

Everyone stepped into the stone door cautiously, and the stone door closed again with a heavy friction sound.

Everyone cautiously walked out of the darkness. The environment here was even darker than outside. With the dim light from his phone screen, Ye Bai could barely make out that it was a warehouse-like room filled with various groceries.
