Chapter 201: Underground River Passage, Too Easy to Be Strange

After a while, Zhang Dada slowly opened his eyes, his eyes full of fear.

"Master Ye, I... I saw a dark shadow, it was so scary." Zhang Dada said tremblingly.

Ye Bai stood up and looked inside the coffin, only to find that the skeleton had disappeared without a trace. His heart tightened, and he whispered, "This is getting weirder."

Yang Mi also looked towards the coffin and grabbed Ye Bai's arm in fear: "Ye Bai, why are the bones gone? Is there a ghost?"

Ye Bai said coldly, "Don't scare yourself. There must be some mechanism or secret passage here that we haven't discovered."

He began to carefully examine the coffin and found that a wooden board at the bottom of the coffin seemed to be loose. He pressed hard and the board suddenly popped open, revealing a dark hole.

"There may be clues below." Ye Bai said.

Zhang Dada quickly waved his hands: "I won't go. It must be even more dangerous down there."

Ye Bai glanced at him and said, "Wait here. If there's any danger, run away." Then he jumped into the cave first. Yang Mi hesitated for a moment and followed suit.

There was a narrow passage below. Ye Bai took out a flashlight from his backpack and illuminated the way ahead. The passage was filled with a damp smell, and the walls were covered with unknown insects.

Yang Mi couldn't help but get closer to Ye Bai: "Ye Bai, I'm a little scared of these bugs."

Ye Bai didn't say anything, but continued walking forward. As they walked, they heard the sound of gurgling water.

"There may be water ahead." Ye Bai said.

When they got closer, they found it was an underground river. The water had a pungent smell and was a bit murky.

"This water doesn't look drinkable," said Yang Mi.

Ye Bai was just about to check if there was a way to cross the river when he heard Zhang Dada's voice behind him. They turned around and saw Zhang Dada had also jumped down and landed on a pile of insects, which frightened him so much that he danced with joy.

"Mr. Zhang, why did you come down?" Yang Mi asked.

"I'd be even scarier up there alone, so I might as well follow you guys," Zhang Dada said with a sad face.

Ye Bai shook his head helplessly and began to look for a way to cross the river. He walked along the river for a while and found a few stones exposed above the water that could be used as stepping stones to cross the river.

"Let's go through here." Ye Bai said.

He carefully stepped on the stones to cross the river, followed by Yang Mi and Zhang Dada. Zhang Dada was so scared that his steps were a little unsteady and he almost fell into the river. Ye Bai reached out and grabbed him, pulling him to the other side.

After crossing the river, they continued on their way. A fork in the road appeared ahead, with two passages leading in different directions.

"It's time to choose which path to take again." Yang Mi said.

Ye Bai squatted down and observed the ground, and found some footprints on the ground in the left passage. They looked like human footprints, but a little strange.

"Let's go to the left first." Ye Bai said.

They walked into the passage on the left, which was filled with a faint smoke. As they walked, they saw a door in front of them with some strange symbols carved on it.

Zhang Dada was curious and wanted to touch the door, but Ye Bai stopped him immediately: "Don't move, take a look at the situation first."

He carefully studied the symbols on the door, trying to find a way to open it. Suddenly, he found that the arrangement of the symbols seemed to be similar to the patterns on the copper coins he had seen before. He took out the copper coins and compared them with the symbols on the door.

"Maybe this copper coin can open this door." Ye Bai said.

He placed the copper coin in a groove on the door, and it slowly opened. A stale smell filled the air, and inside was a room filled with all kinds of gold, silver and treasures.

Zhang Dada's eyes lit up when he saw the treasure: "Wow, so many treasures! We're rich!"

Yang Mi, however, was not so excited. She said worriedly, "Ye Bai, is there any danger here? These treasures seem too easy to obtain."

Ye Bai didn't say anything. He walked into the room and carefully observed the surroundings. Suddenly, he heard the sound of a mechanism being activated.

"Oh no, there's a trap!" Ye Bai shouted.

They hurried back, but the door closed behind them. Arrows began to shoot out from the room, and Ye Bai pulled Yang Mi and Zhang Dada to hide behind a pile of treasures.

"What should we do? Master Ye, we can't get out." Zhang Dada said in despair.

Ye Bai calmly pondered a countermeasure. He discovered that the arrows were shot from some small holes in the wall. He observed the firing pattern of the arrows and found that there would be a brief pause every once in a while.

"When the arrows stop, we will rush towards the door." Ye Bai said.

When the arrow stopped, Ye Bai rushed to the door with Yang Mi and Zhang Dada. He banged on the door with all his strength, but the door did not budge.

At this moment, Zhang Dada found a button on the ground and pressed it without thinking. Suddenly, the arrows in the room stopped firing and the door slowly opened.

"Mr. Zhang, you are too reckless." Yang Mi blamed.

"I... I just wanted to try and see if I could open the door." Zhang Dada said with his head down.

Ye Bai walked out of the room and continued along the corridor. They came to a hall with a statue in it. The statue looked very ferocious, and its eyes seemed to be flashing red light.

Zhang Dada said fearfully, "This statue looks so scary."

Ye Bai approached the statue and found some words engraved on the base. He carefully read the words and found that they contained some secrets about the ancient tomb.

"This ancient tomb seems to be a place for sacrifice. We may have violated some taboos." Ye Bai said.

Yang Mi asked nervously, "What should we do then? Is there any curse?"

Ye Bai didn't answer, he continued to study the statue. Suddenly, the statue moved, waving its arms and attacking them.

Ye Bai quickly dodged the statue's attack. He took out a sword from his backpack and confronted the statue.

"You guys find a place to hide first." Ye Bai said.

Yang Mi and Zhang Dada hid behind a pillar and watched Ye Bai fight the statue nervously.

Ye Bai dodged the statue's attacks flexibly while looking for its weaknesses.

After a fierce battle, Ye Bai discovered a switch on the statue's back. Taking advantage of the gap between the statue's attacks, he jumped onto its back and pressed the switch. The statue instantly stopped moving.

"Finally solved." Ye Bai breathed a sigh of relief.

He walked down, preparing to leave the hall. He felt the ground tremble. He turned and saw the statue had completed its transformation and was standing up. Its eyes were wide open, and its fists were pounding against its chest. A bestial roar emanated from its mouth.

"Fuck, he was resurrected." Ye Bai was extremely surprised.
