As the winter solstice approaches, deep in the bamboo forest where even the cold wind cannot penetrate, the eerie house is quietly and silently changing.

The originally bleak and dilapidated walls are now decorated with blue bricks, white walls and green tiles, like a beauty's new clothes. The red gate has been repainted vermilion, and brand new big red lanterns are hung high. In the middle hangs a black plaque with two large golden characters "Mu Mansion" written on it.

Early in the morning, Mu Qingcheng was invited by Mo Yu to the main gate. This was her second time standing at the gate, looking at the brand new gate, she was so shocked that she couldn't believe her eyes.

The entire gate was bright inside and out, no longer dark, eerie and scary, and had returned to its original appearance.

When was this changed? How come she didn't notice anything at all?

Everything in front of her made Mu Qingcheng feel a lot of emotions. She recalled the scene when the three of them first arrived. It seemed like a lifetime ago!

Looking back, the dark bamboo forest is still there. When the whimpering wind blows through the bamboo leaves, the rustling sound becomes soft and beautiful! It seems to be still telling the story of the past winter in my memory.

"Mo Yu! How on earth did you do that?" Her eyes almost popped out of her head in surprise.

Mo Yu smiled mysteriously: "Master Mu, in fact, this was not done by us. Someone else did it."

"Ah!" Mu Qingcheng looked around, still feeling a bit creepy: "Apart from the five of you, who else is there? There can't really be a ghost!"

Mo Yu continued to remain mysterious and made a gesture of invitation, inviting Mu Qingcheng to come in and take a look.

Mu Qingcheng looked at the plaque on the gate several times. She liked it more and more. This would be her home from now on. She didn’t care who the previous owner was. Anyway, it was the Mu Mansion now.

After stepping over the gate, you will see a spacious and bright courtyard, no longer a haunted house with gloomy winds.

The front yard was empty, without any flowers, plants or trees. There was a neat row of back houses, and the doors and windows had been completely renovated, even the window paper was new, and the ghost cries could no longer be heard.

There was a moon gate on the east side, and inside was the outer study. Mu Qingcheng stood at the door and looked inside curiously, but found nothing scary.

There is a small courtyard outside the study. It has been cleaned. It used to be overgrown with weeds and in a dilapidated state. Now the weeds have been cleared and the blue bricks on the ground have been washed clean with water.

The doors and windows of the study were also replaced with new ones. The last time she opened the door, it left a shadow, so Mu Qingcheng hesitated for a long time before she dared to open the door.

"Wow! This study is much bigger than the one in the inner courtyard."

The study was actually a suite of three rooms, the outermost one being the living room. The middle one was for office use, with a large desk, but nothing on it. Behind the desk was a shelf of antiques, but there was nothing on it either.

"Moyu! Are the furniture in this study all left over from the past?"

"That's right. The furniture here is all red sandalwood, meticulously carved and made of very fine materials. Even if we replace it with new ones, they may not be as good as theirs."

Mu Qingcheng thought to herself, of course, this is obvious. Could the things Yunqing's father left behind be any worse? It's obvious that Crown Prince Shaojun is richer than Crown Prince Yunqing.

The innermost room was a nicely appointed lounge, complete with tables, chairs, and beds. No wonder couples in ancient times would often sleep in the study after a quarrel. She'd love to live in a study like this, too.

The two of them came out of the study and went to the west kitchen to take a look. The equipment in the kitchen was also very complete.

"Master Mu, the coal stove for the kitchen can be set up today. Do you think we should hire a cook?"

Mu Qingcheng thought about it and felt that Zipei was really tired from cooking every day, so why not buy one?

Oh! I didn't expect her to become corrupt so quickly.

Mu Qingcheng instructed Mo Yu: "Then let's buy a couple! The husband can look after the door and clean the outer courtyard, and the wife can boil water and cook."

"Okay!" Moyu had wanted to buy it for a long time.

The two people came out of the kitchen. Mu Qingcheng stood at the door with hanging flowers and looked at the front yard again.

"Moyu! Why didn't I see you guys chopping down trees? Why is the front yard so bright?"

"We just cut away the branches that blocked the sunlight, but didn't cut down the trees."

So that's how it is. This method is indeed convenient and practical, but who did it? Is there really a Snail Girl?

Mu Qingcheng crossed her arms and looked at Mo Yu seriously.

"Who is it?"

Mo Yu just smiled: "You will be able to meet this person soon, but he still needs to prepare a big gift. You will know who it is when the gift arrives in two days!"

"Ah!" Mu Qingcheng pointed at the bright and splendid house: "Isn't this a gift? This is a way to repay a favor!"

Mo Yu scratched his head: "Repaying a favor is reasonable."

Eating dumplings during the winter solstice is a northern custom. The hall was warm and bustling. Two Dragon Shadow Guards, Zijin and Zipei, gathered around the table, making dumplings.

Feng Zhishang was sitting on the couch, holding a medical book and pretending to read it. On the seat next to him was a bamboo basket with a soft cushion inside. Bai Ze was sleeping soundly.

Elsewhere, the little girl Mu Yao and the little boy Mo Xue were writing large characters. This was the homework assigned by Teacher Mu: ten large characters and twenty math problems per day. Although Teacher Mu's calligraphy was barely scratching the surface, she was able to conceal her talent!

The people making dumplings had their hands and mouths busy, and Mo Yun and Mo Bing were the most active.

Mo Bing: "...You are my little apple..."

Mo Yun: "It's never too much to love you..."

Mo Bing: "The red smiling face warms my heart."

Mo Bingmo Yun: "Light up the fire of my life...fire fire fire fire..."

With a bang, Feng Zhishang threw the book at them.

"Shut up, you two idiots! If you dare to sing again, I'll beat you to death!"

Mo Yun and Mo Bing dodged and said, "Tsk! Who are you trying to scare?"

"You are my little apple... just like the most beautiful cloud in the sky..."

Feng Zhishang jumped off the couch in anger, picked up the book on the ground and hit the two men. Mo Bing and Mo Yun were wrapping dumplings while running around the table, still singing provocatively.

"You are my little apple!"

"Hahaha! I can't hit him! I can't hit him!"

Zijin and Zipei both bent over with laughter.
