Time Travel: Ancient Martial Arts Chronicles
Chapter 1: The beginning of chaos, the appearance of ancient warriors
At the beginning of the chaos, the ancient warriors suddenly appeared
Lin Xiaoxiao never imagined her ordinary yet exciting life would be so completely disrupted by an inexplicable time travel. In the modern world, she's a street bully, her somewhat rogue personality earning her a love-hate relationship. She has neatly cropped hair, and her eyes, gleaming like two black gemstones, gleam with cunning and fearlessness. Fighting is a daily occurrence for her, but this time, a clash with a thug becomes the catalyst for a dramatic turn in her life.
It was a blazing afternoon, the air thick with heat. Lin Xiaoxiao, as usual, strutting down the street in her graffiti-covered denim jacket, ripped jeans, black Doc Martens, and chewing gum. The thugs were recklessly provoking her, and without a word, Lin Xiaoxiao charged forward, beating them to the bone with relentless force. But just as she pinned the last thug to the ground, ready to give him a good beating, her head spun, as if the world were being violently manipulated by an invisible hand. She felt a blackout, followed by an endless dizziness.
When Lin Xiaoxiao regained consciousness, everything around her seemed strange and mysterious. She was in a vast forest, surrounded by trees so thick that it took several people to hug them. They towered into the sky, their lush branches blocking out most of the sunlight, leaving only scattered spots of light on the ground, like a mysterious puzzle. Mist slowly drifted through the forest, like a ghostly veil, brushing against Lin Xiaoxiao's cheek with a slight chill, causing her to shiver unconsciously. The air was filled with the fragrance of soil, grass, and unknown flowers. This scent was rich and ancient, as if telling of the long history of this forest.
"What the hell is this place? Am I dreaming? Or have those thugs tricked me?" Lin Xiaoxiao rubbed her eyes vigorously, trying to make the scene clearer. She stood up, and the ground beneath her feet felt soft and springy. Every step felt like stepping on thick sponge. She looked around, trying to find some familiar signs, but there was nothing but endless trees and fog.
Lin Xiaoxiao felt a surge of unease, but her unyielding nature quickly calmed her. "Hmph, no matter where this is, I'm not afraid," she muttered to herself, her voice echoing hollowly in the silent forest. She began to walk aimlessly through the forest, the dead branches and leaves crunching beneath her feet like a warning from the forest.
After walking for a while, Lin Xiaoxiao faintly heard a loud noise, like someone was fighting fiercely. Her curiosity was instantly piqued, and her fearlessness returned. She crouched down and cautiously moved towards the source of the sound, like a nimble little fox.
Pushing aside a thicket of brush, Lin Xiaoxiao was met with a startling scene. A man in tight black clothes was surrounded by a group of other men in black. He stood tall and straight, like a pine tree, his long black hair tied back, a few strands flowing in the wind, adding a touch of elegance. His face was as cold as an ice sculpture, his deep eyes brimming with an endless chill that seemed to freeze the air around him. He held a longsword, its blade radiating a chilling gleam. Each swing unleashed a sharp, piercing force, slicing silver streaks through the air. The men in black, each clad in black nightgown, their faces covered with black cloth, revealing only their murderous eyes. Armed with a variety of weapons, they attacked the man from all sides.
This man was Ye Wuhen, a renowned swordsman known for his superb skills, aloof demeanor, and a solitary spirit. He had heard of a rare herb in this forest, believed to enhance martial arts skills, and so he set out alone to search for it. However, he discovered it was an elaborate trap; someone had revealed his whereabouts and intended to kill him.
Although Ye Wuhen was an expert swordsman, the black-clad men were outnumbered and coordinated well, forcing him into a difficult fight. He already had several wounds on his body, and his black suit was stained red with blood, but his eyes remained firm, and the long sword in his hand did not tremble at all.
Lin Xiaoxiao was stunned watching from the side, secretly exclaiming in her heart: "This guy is too powerful, he can fight so many people by himself, he is simply a hero in the movies. But if this goes on, he will die." An impulse came from nowhere, Lin Xiaoxiao picked up a thick branch on the ground, took a deep breath, and then shouted: "Hey! You bad guys, what's the point of bullying one person!" After shouting, she rushed towards the man in black like a whirlwind.
The men in black were startled by the sudden shout and turned to look at Lin Xiaoxiao. When they saw a young girl in strange clothes holding a branch, a flicker of contempt flashed in their eyes. However, they did not let their guard down and quickly sent several people to attack Lin Xiaoxiao.
Lin Xiaoxiao swung the branch, hitting the man in black with a chaotic tactic. Her movements were chaotic, but her desperate energy left him momentarily bewildered. Like a frantic animal, she kept shouting, "Come on, you guys! Let me show you how I'll deal with you!" The branch whirred in her hands, and she nearly hit the man in black several times.
Ye Wuhen had already prepared for a desperate fight, but he hadn't expected such a young woman to suddenly appear. A flicker of surprise flashed across his eyes, but he quickly recovered. Seeing Lin Xiaoxiao in danger, his swordsmanship became even faster and more fierce. His body moved like lightning, his sword wielding like a dragon. He instantly dispatched several nearby enemies, then turned and charged towards Lin Xiaoxiao.
With Ye Wuhen's arrival, the situation immediately reversed. The men in black were momentarily flustered, having not expected Ye Wuhen to unleash such powerful fighting prowess under such circumstances. Ye Wuhen and Lin Xiaoxiao faced off, engaging in a fierce battle with the men in black. Ye Wuhen's swordsmanship flowed like water, each strike precisely targeting the enemy's vital points. Lin Xiaoxiao, with her agility and brute strength, continually disrupted the men in black.
With the tacit cooperation of the two, the men in black gradually couldn't hold on and began to retreat. Finally, with Ye Wuhen's sword swing, the last man in black fell to the ground.
Ye Wuhen put away his sword and turned to look at Lin Xiaoxiao, his brows slightly furrowed, his eyes full of confusion and vigilance: "Who are you? Why are you here?" His voice was low and magnetic, like a cold wind.
Lin Xiaoxiao patted the dust off her body and looked at Ye Wuhen with a smile: "I am Lin Xiaoxiao. I don't know how I got here, but since you are in trouble, I came to help you!" Her eyes were bright and there was no fear at all.
Ye Wuhen looked Lin Xiaoxiao up and down, pondering inwardly. This girl was dressed strangely, and her words and actions were completely different from the women he knew. She looked powerless, yet possessed an inexplicable courage. "Where are you from? This place is dangerous and not for you," Ye Wuhen said coldly.
Lin Xiaoxiao curled her lips: "I didn't want to come either. I still want to know where this is. Also, why are you so cold? I just saved you!" She crossed her arms and looked at Ye Wuhen with dissatisfaction.
Ye Wuhen was slightly taken aback. He hadn't expected the girl to be so direct. He coughed softly and said, "Thank you for your help, young lady. This is the edge of the ancient martial arts continent, and there are hidden dangers everywhere. It's best for you to leave as soon as possible."
"Ancient Martial Arts Continent? What is this place? I've never heard of it. Also, I don't know how to leave now." Lin Xiaoxiao said in confusion.
Ye Wuhen looked at Lin Xiaoxiao, feeling somewhat helpless. He wasn't good at getting along with others, and facing this strange girl, he was even more at a loss. Just then, a faint sound came from not far away, as if some large creature was approaching.
Ye Wuhen's face changed, and he clenched the sword in his hand: "Oh no, maybe the sound of fighting just now attracted the beasts in the forest. We have to leave quickly." As he said, he ran in one direction. Seeing this, Lin Xiaoxiao hurriedly followed.
The two of them ran wildly through the forest, the noise behind them growing louder and louder. Lin Xiaoxiao felt her heartbeat reach her throat; she had never run so fast before. Ye Wuhen led the way, his figure nimble and agile, as if he was very familiar with this forest.
Suddenly, Ye Wuhen stopped, and Lin Xiaoxiao couldn't brake in time and almost bumped into him. "Why did he stop? The thing behind is catching up!" Lin Xiaoxiao shouted anxiously.
Ye Wuhen remained silent, his gaze fixed on the road ahead. Lin Xiaoxiao followed his gaze and saw a steep cliff ahead, shrouded in mist and clouds, bottomless. "This...we have no way out." Lin Xiaoxiao's voice trembled.
Ye Wuhen frowned and turned to look at Lin Xiaoxiao: "Jump down, maybe there is still a chance of survival."
"Are you crazy? You will die if you jump from such a high!" Lin Xiaoxiao widened her eyes and looked at Ye Wuhen in disbelief.
"Instead of being torn to pieces by the beasts behind, it's better to take a gamble." After Ye Wuhen said this, he jumped towards the cliff without hesitation.
Lin Xiaoxiao watched Ye Wuhen jump down, her heart struggling. At this moment, a deafening roar came from behind her, and a powerful airflow rushed towards her. Lin Xiaoxiao gritted her teeth and said, "Let's fight!" Then she closed her eyes and jumped towards the cliff...
As she fell, Lin Xiaoxiao felt like a feather, tossed about by a fierce wind. Her mind was blank, filled with endless fear. After an unknown amount of time, she felt as if she were engulfed in a soft embrace, and then she lost consciousness.
When Lin Xiaoxiao woke up again, she found herself lying in a cave with a bonfire burning beside her. Ye Wuhen was sitting beside her with his eyes closed. She moved her body and felt sore all over. Ye Wuhen heard the movement, opened his eyes and looked at her: "You're awake."
"We're not dead?" Lin Xiaoxiao asked weakly.
"Well, we are lucky. There is a pool of water at the bottom of the cliff, which cushioned the impact of our fall." Ye Wuhen said.
Lin Xiaoxiao breathed a sigh of relief. The feeling of surviving a catastrophe made her feel a little dazed. She looked at Ye Wuhen and said, "Thank you."
Ye Wuhen nodded slightly: "You should have a good rest. It is not advisable to stay here for long. When you recover some strength, we will find a way out."
Lin Xiaoxiao looked at Ye Wuhen's stern profile, and a warm feeling welled up in her heart. In this strange and dangerous world, this once-strangered man seemed to have become her only support. What she didn't know was that her arrival, like a stone dropped into a calm lake, had already caused ripples across the Ancient Martial Continent. A thrilling adventure had just begun.
