Death: Captain Millennium
Chapter 173 Yamada Hanatarō
Yamada Hanatarō is the younger brother of Yamada Seinosuke, the director of Mao Shayakuin, who was also the former vice-captain of the 4th Division.
Under the influence of his brother, Hanatarō became a Shinigami who disliked fighting but loved medicine. He eventually joined the Fourth Division and served as the seventh seat. This can be seen from his Zanpakutō. After all, the Zanpakutō of any combat squad would be in the shape of a scalpel when released.
Before joining the Fourth Division, he had been working as a cleaner in the Sixth Division. Even after being transferred to the Fourth Division, he would occasionally work part-time cleaning the Soul Society. His regular cleaning area was the Sixth Division's area.
When Rukia was still imprisoned in the Sixth Division, he often went to bring her food and chatted with her. When he learned that she had secretly granted humans the power of the God of Death because she had to do so under special circumstances, Hanatarō expressed sympathy for Rukia's situation.
Logically speaking, there must be a reason for what happened, and Rukia is a noble, so she should not be sentenced to death. However, he is just a small seventh seat, and he has no say in the decision of the top leaders.
Today when he went to clean the Sixth Division, he found that Rukia had been transferred to the Fourth Deep Cell of the Palace of Confessions. He originally wanted to go and talk to Rukia, but was stopped by the Grim Reaper guarding the Fourth Deep Cell. He had no choice but to return to the Fourth Division without success.
However, when he was on his way back to the Fourth Division, an accident happened and he was kidnapped! And the people who kidnapped him were none other than Ichigo and Ganju who were on the run.
After Ichigo and Ganju successfully reunited, they ran into the unfortunate Yamada Hanatarō while fleeing. Faced with this unexpected situation, Ichigo made a quick decision: kidnap Yamada Hanatarō. Thus, poor Yamada Hanatarō became their hostage.
Yamada Hanatarō stared at Ichigo and Ganju with wide eyes, his face filled with horror. He had never imagined that he would encounter something like this at this time. However, faced with Ichigo and Ganju's tough attitude, he could not resist and could only obediently obey their instructions.
Ichigo and Ganju smiled at each other, secretly pleased with themselves. They knew that with Yamada Hanatarō as a hostage, the next operation would go much more smoothly. As for Yamada Hanatarō himself, he fell into deep despair...
Seeing the pursuers getting closer and closer, Ichigo quickly put the knife to Hanatarō's neck and shouted, "Hey! Don't come any closer. I have a hostage in my hand. If you dare to take another step forward, I will kill you immediately."
However, those aggressive soldiers of the 11th Division not only did not stop, but instead showed inexplicable smiles on their faces. This made Ichigo feel uneasy, and he wondered if these people were all crazy.
"What do you want? I'm really going to kill you!!!" Ichigo shouted again in panic.
Unexpectedly, the soldiers responded in unison, "Tear him apart! Hurry up and kill him with one blow, preferably so we can report back to our superiors that this guy died a glorious death for the Seireitei."
Hearing this, Ichigo's eyes widened and he said in disbelief: "Isn't he your comrade? How can you be so cruel? Are all the Shinigami so heartless and heartless?"
At this time, a soldier smiled and explained to Ichigo: "Boy, it seems that you know too little about the Soul Society. The guy you kidnapped is just a useless member of the Fourth Division. We are the elite of the Eleventh Division. If you can help us kill him, we will be very grateful to you."
Ichigo's face was filled with black lines. He never expected that the hostage he had captured with so much difficulty would turn out to be a burden.
"Well...well, if I let him go now, can we just pretend nothing happened?"
"It's too late, boy! Since you dare to kidnap the Shinigami of Seireitei, be prepared to pay the price!"
Ichigo and Ganju had no choice but to flee with Yamada Hanatarō to avoid being hunted down.
On the way to escape, Yamada Hanatarō suddenly asked curiously, "Why did you break into Seireitei?"
Ichigo glanced at Yamada Hanatarō. "We came to Seireitei to save Rukia."
Yamada Hanatarō looked at Ichigo in surprise and said, "Save Rukia? You must be the Kurosaki Ichigo she was talking about. Rukia was sentenced to death because of you."
Upon hearing this news, Ichigo's eyes widened. He hadn't expected that the person he had just tied up was actually related to Rukia. "Ah! You actually know Rukia."
"I was bringing snacks to Rukia a few days ago, but today she was transferred to the Fourth Deep Cell." Hanatarō said with a depressed look on his face, "I wanted to visit her, but I was kicked out."
Hearing this, Ichigo asked as if possessed by a ghost: "Can you lead us to where Rukia is being held?"
Ganju's eyes widened, and he looked at Ichigo in disbelief, as if he had seen an idiot. Letting the enemy lead the way—wasn't that just wishful thinking?
However, something unexpected happened. Yamada Hanatarō actually nodded in agreement without hesitation. "Okay, no problem!"
He agreed! He agreed!!!
Yanjiu's worldview was shattered. In this day and age, there were actually people willing to be guides. Remember, they were invaders. While there were reasons for this, they were technically enemies!
With Hanatarō's help, Ichigo and Ganju felt much less stressed. This was all thanks to Hanatarō's identity as a cleaner, which allowed him to be familiar with the extensive sewer routes within Seireitei. Hanatarō stopped at a corner, then expertly lifted an inconspicuous floor tile and beckoned Ichigo and Ganju to crawl into the sewer.
Looking at what was happening in front of them, the Shinigami of the 11th Squadron who had caught up were all confused. They couldn't understand why the three people who were just in front of them suddenly disappeared without a trace after turning a corner.
"Damn it! The credit we had was gone!" a Shinigami from the 11th Squadron roared angrily, his eyes blazing with fire. After all, it was so annoying that they were about to catch someone, but they suddenly disappeared.
Under Hanatarō's leadership, the three of them kept adjusting their direction in the sewers and finally reached the nearest exit to the Palace of Confessions.
"yue!"
Ichigo climbed out and took a deep breath of the fresh air outside. The smell of the sewer was so strong that it almost made him vomit.
Hanatarō pointed to the huge building shrouded in mist ahead. "Look! That's the Palace of Confessions up ahead. Rukia is imprisoned in the Four Deep Cells inside."
Just as Ichigo and the others were about to move on, they saw a figure standing on the stairs leading to the Palace of Confessions.
The mist slowly dissipated, and the person standing there was actually Abarai Renji. He and Ichigo were old acquaintances. They had fought in the real world not long ago, and the key point was that he lost.
Renji was still brooding over this matter. It was a shame for him to be defeated by a half-baked Shinigami who had no training.
He had arrived here a long time ago and was waiting there, because this was the only way to the Palace of Confessions, and Ichigo would definitely run into him if he wanted to save Rukia.
