Death: Captain Millennium
Chapter 112 Big Dog Promoted to Captain of Squad 7
"Have you heard? Our Seventh Division is going to have a new captain." said a soldier.
"Is this true? Where did you get this information?" another soldier questioned.
"Then don't worry about it. I have my own channels." The soldier who spoke first said proudly.
Just then, a tall, handsome man walked into the 7th Division barracks. He was wearing the captain's haori and had a serious expression.
"Komamura's fifth seat?" a team member shouted in surprise.
"Idiot, you should call Captain Komamura!" another team member quickly corrected.
Komamura looked at the team members quietly, a hint of authority flashing in his eyes. He said nothing, but the entire team room fell silent. The team members bowed their heads in respect for the new captain.
At this moment, Tetsuzaemon hurried out of the captain's office. "Congratulations, Captain Komamura!"
Komamura Sajin gave a wry smile. "Don't make fun of me, Tetsuzaemon. I don't want to be the captain at all."
Tetsuzaemon smiled and patted Komamura Sajin's shoulder. "Don't say that, Komamura. You were elected as the captain by all the captains. You will definitely be able to lead the 7th Division!"
Komamura Sajin shook his head helplessly, a trace of worry showing on his resolute face, "I really don't know if I can be qualified for this position, and I can reach this point thanks to Captain Lin Yu. If it weren't for him, I might still be an unknown officer. But..." His voice gradually became low, as if he had something to hide.
Tetsuzaemon quickly interrupted him and said in a serious tone, "Komamura, you are the captain now. There are some things you can't say like that. You represent the entire 7th Division. As captain, you must have confidence in yourself and trust the support of your teammates."
Komamura Sajin nodded slightly, understanding, but his worries weren't entirely dispelled. Then, noticing the curious glances from the soldiers around him, he decided to continue the discussion elsewhere.
"I know what you mean. Let's go inside and talk." After saying that, Komamura Saejin turned around, pushed open the door of the captain's office, and walked in.
Leaving behind a group of soldiers looking at each other in confusion, they exchanged puzzled glances, not knowing what had happened between Captain Komamura and Vice Captain Tetsuzaemon.
Tetsuzaemon quickly took over and explained, "I'm going to talk to Captain Komamura first. You guys should all disperse." He then followed him into the captain's office. Although the soldiers still had questions, they obeyed and left.
As the door of the captain's office closed, Komamura Sajin and Tetsuzaemon began a deep conversation.
"Tetsuzaemon. I still don't believe that Captain Lin Yu would betray Soul Society. He told me to follow my heart, uphold justice, and enforce the order of Soul Society, but now..."
Tetsuzaemon was unaware of the secret of Lin Yu helping Komamura Sajin master the art of humanization, and simply assumed he was a fanatical admirer of Lin Yu. "Captain Komamura, Lin Yu's betrayal of Soul Society was announced by the Captain-General himself. You're questioning the Captain-General, which is not what you should do as a captain."
"I don't question the captain's decision. I just think there might be something else behind Captain Lin Yu's betrayal. But now that I've taken over as captain of Squad 7, I will uphold justice in my heart and lead Squad 7 forward."
"I understand, Captain Komamura," Tetsuzaemon said, "but we must accept the facts now. Lin Yu's actions have indeed had a huge impact on the 7th Division. We must find a way to increase the lost momentum."
Komamura Sajin was silent for a moment, then nodded.
"Tetsuzaemon, notify all soldiers to gather at the barracks. It's time for me, the new captain, to say something."
"Yes, Captain," Tetsuzaemon responded, "I'll go gather the team members."
Soon, all the soldiers gathered in the barracks. Komamura Sajin stood in front, looking at everyone seriously.
"Everyone, I'm your new captain, Komamura Sajin. I'm not unfamiliar to you all. I know you all feel ashamed and sad about what happened to Captain Lin Yu. However, we can't continue to indulge in this negativity."
"I believe that what Lin Yu did was his personal behavior and has nothing to do with the other members of our Team 7. We are all Shinigami loyal to Soul Society and shoulder the responsibility of guarding the inner court of Soul Society. We must use our words and deeds to prove to other teams that our Team 7 will never betray." Komamura Sajin's voice was firm and powerful, full of determination.
The soldiers listened silently. Though heavy hearts clung to their faces, their eyes gleamed with trust in Komamura Sajin. Komamura Sajin continued, "From today on, we must work even harder to shoulder the burdens placed on our shoulders. As captain of Squad 7, I will stand before you all and lead you in upholding the justice and order you hold within your hearts."
The soldiers responded one after another, "Yes, Captain!" Their morale gradually rose, as if ignited by Komamura Sajin's words. Komamura Sajin looked at them, a flicker of relief in his eyes. He knew that despite such an incident, the 7th Division was still a strong team, with unwavering faith and an indomitable spirit.
After finishing all this, Komamura Sajin took Tetsuzaemon back to the captain's office. He sat quietly on the couch, feeling a little complicated.
Tetsuzaemon smiled and said to Komamura, "Captain Komamura, you're amazing. With just a few words, you've lifted the morale of the soldiers. And you even said you weren't qualified for the position of captain. How modest of you."
Komamura's face flushed slightly. He rubbed his head and said sheepishly, "Really? I just did what I had to do. Actually, I've always worried that I wouldn't be able to handle the captaincy... After all, I've only ever held the fifth seat. Being able to inspire everyone with words and help them reach their full potential, is that also considered an ability?"
Tetsuzaemon smiled and shook his head. "Captain Komamura, don't think that way. A good captain not only needs to be strong, but more importantly, he must know how to lead and motivate his teammates. Your performance today is the best proof of that. Moreover, you have the support of me, the vice-captain, and the other team members. As long as we work together, we will definitely be able to lead Squad 7 to even greater heights!"
Komamura nodded gratefully. "Thank you, Tetsuzaemon. I will do my best to live up to your expectations. However, I've just taken on the position of captain, so I'll have to trouble you to guide me in team affairs."
Tetsuzaemon patted Komamura's shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Captain Komamura. Isn't the vice-captain's job to assist the captain? I'll get you familiar with the team's duties as soon as possible."
After saying that, the two smiled at each other and decided that Team 7 would not sink like this!
