The Rise of the Youth in the War of Resistance

Chapter 5 The Bandit's Revenge

Time flies, and the golden years are like a naughty rabbit, disappearing in a flash.

The past is like a pile of loose sand. No matter what you write on it, if you wipe it away lightly, you won’t know what happened.

Zhao Shao was strolling slowly on the golden avenue covered with fallen leaves. Suddenly he turned around and realized that time passed faster than a rabbit.

But there was one thing that Zhao Shao could never forget. Every time he thought of the scene six years ago, his tears flowed like a flood.

.........

"Hey, did you see that? The guy we've been hiding for a long time has appeared!"

One man spoke in a low voice, his voice shrill with excitement.

His eyes widened as he stared at the target in front of him, and his heart beat rapidly, as if it was about to jump out of his throat.

The other person next to him quickly took out a blueprint with a human figure on it, which was rough enough to be used as sandpaper. After comparing it carefully, a hint of excitement flashed in his eyes, as if he had found a treasure.

His hands trembled slightly, his breathing became rapid, and he thought to himself:

"This time I can finally accomplish something great."

"Yes, it's him!"

The man responded in a low voice.

Then he turned to the person who had just spoken and said:

"Go and see where they are going?

I'll report this to the boss right away."

After saying that, the two of them quickly took action like lit firecrackers.

One person followed carefully behind the target person, taking every step lightly for fear of making any noise, keeping his eyes fixed on the target at all times, not daring to relax at all.

The other one quickly ran to their boss to report the situation, praying in his heart that the operation would go smoothly.

……

At the same time, on a hill not far from the town, a bandit leader as fat as a ball was lying on his back.

This hill used to be the only way to get to this town, but now, after being ravaged by soldiers and bandits, it has become a deserted place with no one living there.

However, in this desolate place, there is a group of bandits who are more cunning than foxes and more vicious than wolves.

The boss sat on a chair so broken it could be an antique, listening to his subordinates' reports.

When he heard the target person appeared, his eyes instantly became as sharp as a knife, and he felt ecstatic:

"Humph, I finally got you!"

"Brothers, let's go get revenge together, okay?"

The subordinates nodded in agreement, like chicks pecking at rice.

They knew in their hearts that this operation was very important.

Once successful, there will be one less major worry.

But at the same time, they also understand that this matter is very risky, and if it goes wrong, the consequences are unimaginable.

"Okay, are you all ready?"

The boss asked in a hoarse voice.

"Ready!"

Everyone raised their swords and answered in unison, the sound so loud that it could have blown the roof off.

They all rubbed their hands together, with ferocious expressions on their faces, as if they had seen the dawn of victory.

"Let's go, let's welcome the victory of this battle together!"

The boss stood up and waved his hand, signaling his men to take action.

The subordinates were filled with anticipation and greed, thinking that they must make a fortune from the boss this time.

.........

As night falls, the moon hangs high in the sky, casting a cold light like ice chips.

The moonlight shines through the clouds, illuminating the earth, but instead of bringing warmth and comfort, it makes the night seem even more eerie and terrifying, like a haunted house.

The bandits quietly surrounded the place where He Niu was. They held their breath and moved cautiously, fearing to make any noise.

Everyone held the weapon tightly in his hand, with fierceness and greed revealed in his eyes, like a wolf that had been hungry for three days.

They knew that if this operation succeeded, they could make a fortune;

If you fail, you might lose your life.

However, what these bandits didn't expect was that He Niu, a hunter, had already set up traps in the bamboo forest outside the yard.

When one of the bandits accidentally stepped on the trap, he immediately screamed "Ah" like a cat whose tail was stepped on.

The scream broke the silence of the night and woke up the sleeping He Niu.

He Niu opened his eyes alertly, jumped up from the bed, and scanned the surroundings like a scanner.

His heartbeat accelerated instantly, and he thought to himself:

"These damn bandits actually dared to come to our door!"

He realized that danger was coming, and a strong fighting spirit suddenly surged in his heart, like a burning flame.

He quickly put on his clothes, picked up the machete that was so familiar to him, and held it tightly in his hand.

At the same time, he lowered his voice and said to He's mother:

"Mother, take the child and hide in the cellar!"

He's mother nodded nervously, picked up Zhao Shao and ran away, faster than a rabbit.

Zhao Shao was still sleeping soundly, and he was sleeping so soundly that he had no idea what was going on.

She knew that she and her child would only cause trouble for He Niu if they stayed here, and only by hiding could she allow her son to deal with the enemy with peace of mind.

He Niu gripped the weapon tightly in his hand, took a deep breath, and prepared for battle.

He knew this battle could be a matter of life and death, but he was not afraid at all and was determined to protect his family and home.

Suddenly, the bandits outside the yard launched an attack.

They rushed into the yard like a group of starving wolves, howling madly.

He Niu's eyes burned with anger. He brandished a machete and faced the enemy's attack. He looked like he was possessed by the god of war.

He Niu dodged the oncoming spear with a flash of his body, and swung his machete backhand, directly chopping off the bandit's arm, with blood splattering everywhere.

The bandit howled in pain, but He Niu felt no mercy and thought:

"You bunch of villains, don't even think about hurting my family!"

Another bandit took the opportunity to attack from behind. He Niu seemed to have eyes on his back. He turned sideways, raised his leg and kicked the bandit several meters away.

At this time, three bandits attacked at the same time. He Niu was not afraid at all. The machete flashed coldly in the moonlight. He chopped left and right. In an instant, two bandits fell in a pool of blood. The remaining bandit was so scared that his face turned pale and he turned around to run away.

He Niu shouted angrily:

"Want to run?

It's not that easy! "

He rushed forward, raised his sword and killed him.

In the blink of an eye, several bandits died under his knife.

Seeing He Niu being so brave, the bandits were so scared that they wet their pants. Their leader even shouted at the top of his voice:

"Don't be afraid, he's alone. Let's attack him together. I don't believe we can't kill him!"

But his heart was beating fast, and he secretly regretted provoking this tough guy.

But just as he finished speaking, his own shoulder was chopped by He Niu, and then this guy quietly prepared to slip away.

After another fierce battle, the bandits suffered heavy losses, but He Niu also gradually felt overwhelmed.

His body was covered in blood and wounds, looking like he had been fished out of a pool of blood.

Every time he swung the knife, he felt his arm getting heavier. He silently encouraged himself in his heart:

"We must hold on, we can't let them succeed!"

But in reality, he didn't have much strength left.

Finally, after He Niu killed three more bandits, the bandit leader and the remaining bandit who were hiding in the distance and watching were so scared that they ran away like dogs with their tails between their legs.

He Niu's body was covered with wounds and blood was constantly oozing out, but he still held on and walked towards the cellar door step by step with difficulty.

Every step he took felt like a heavy burden was pressing down on him. He gritted his teeth, with only one thought in his mind:

"I must let my family know that I am still alive."

Finally, he reached the cellar door and, using his last bit of strength, knocked gently.

His voice was as weak as a mosquito's hum, as if he would die at any moment.

However, Zhao Shao and He's mother in the cellar clearly heard the knock on the door.

They were as anxious as ants on a hot pan, and their tears could not stop flowing.

When they opened the cellar door, it was like opening a door to hope.

Young Zhao Shao and He's mother cried bitterly, looking at He Niu with heartache, their hearts filled with emotion and admiration.

He Niu stood there weakly, grinning and saying to them:

"I'm not...still fine...am I?

Cry...why are you crying..."

Although his voice was so low that it was almost inaudible, his eyes revealed a kind of determination and relief...
