Three Kingdoms: Domination of the World
Chapter 239: First Battle with the Tsar's Army
The Ming Dynasty was reborn, thanks in no small part to the contributions of Imperial Master Suo Chao. However, while internal troubles were resolved, external threats remained.
Suo Chao walked into the palace with his head held high and chest puffed out, striding with resolute steps. Clad in armor, he looked imposing, his eyes gleaming with determination and confidence. Each step he took seemed to carry immense force, inspiring awe.
"Your Majesty, I have fulfilled my mission. I have pacified Japan." Suo Chao knelt on one knee, clasped his hands together, and spoke in a voice as loud as a bell. His face was filled with the joy of victory, yet he remained calm.
Zhu Cilang nodded slightly, his eyes full of admiration:
"The Imperial Master has worked hard and made great contributions. The achievement of pacifying Japan is entirely due to the Imperial Master."
The retired emperor Zhu Youjian also showed a relieved smile:
"Yes! It is a blessing for our Ming Dynasty to have the Imperial Master here."
Suo Chao stood up, his expression solemn:
"Your Majesty, I am carrying out reforms and want to build a brand new Ming Dynasty. This is very offensive, but for the future of the Ming Dynasty, I have no regrets." His eyes were firm, as if they could see through everything.
"Your Majesty, I am not from this time and space. I would like to be the Shang Yang or Bai Qi of Qin, and strive for a bright future for the Ming Dynasty." Suo Chao's voice echoed in the palace, full of lofty ambitions.
Zhu Youjian and Zhu Cilang were shocked after hearing this. Zhu Youjian said with emotion:
"We know the ambitions of the Imperial Master. I wonder where the Ming Dynasty will go?"
Suo Chao frowned slightly:
"Your Majesty, the internal and external troubles have been basically settled. But we must be on guard against Tsarist Russia from the north."
Zhu Cilang quickly asked:
"Oh! The concerns of the Imperial Master will definitely be taken seriously by our Great Ming. I hope the Imperial Master will teach me."
Suo Chao thought for a moment and said:
"Your Majesty, I will hand over 70 troops to Generals Sun Chuanting and Lu Xiangsheng, and order them to guard the north and Liaodong." His eyes revealed decisiveness and resolution.
"Let the Imperial Master decide everything," said Zhu Cilang.
Suo Chao bid farewell to the two emperors and came to the Five Departments in World D. Looking at the busy craftsmen, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
He picked up a steam-powered device and examined it carefully, his eyes filled with anticipation. However, Suo Chao was not satisfied yet and asked the craftsmen to continue improving technologies such as gunpowder and firearms.
Suo Chao established five basic national policies for the New Ming Dynasty: "universal education", "scientific and technological development", "overseas trade", "pacifying the northern threat", and "encouraging childbirth".
Zhu Youjian and his sons revered Suo Chao as a god and completely agreed with the Imperial Preceptor's advice. The Five National Policies were equivalent to the Taizu's legacy, and no Ming citizen could violate them.
Suo Chao's eyes revealed a firm belief, as if he saw the glorious future of the Ming Dynasty. He left behind many scientific and technological drawings and newly learned knowledge for the new Ming Dynasty. The Ming Dynasty established the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Overseas Trade, the Ministry of Expedition, and the Ministry of Family Planning.
In order to strictly prevent the outflow of scientific and technological means, Sochao introduced a series of measures to prevent the outflow of technology. However, thinking of the 300-year curse of the empire, a trace of worry appeared on his face:
"The Japanese threat has been eliminated, but the threat from the north remains unsettled."
In order to completely resolve the threat from the north, Suo Chao had a sharp vision. He agreed with the newly-appointed Emperor Zhu Cilang to send Sun Chuanting to take over the territories of Khalkha and Barhu Mongolia to prevent Tsarist Russia from gradually annexing the Lake Baikal region.
In order to solve the livelihood problem of the million-strong army in the north, Suo Chao provided a large amount of high-quality crop seeds, fishery and animal husbandry technology.
Suo Chao stood by the North Sea, gazing northward, his eyes brimming with fighting spirit. The Tsar's foray into Lake Baikal, the frontier city of Irkutsk, had not yet been established. He had ordered the Lushun Chuanting army to seize it first and build a defensive fortress there.
Suosuochao personally rushed from Beihai to the Tsarist border city of Yakutsk. He wanted to meet the Tsarist Russian army in person.
A nation without external threats will only be mired in endless internal strife. The Tsarist Empire, a powerful rival, is the sharpening stone for the new Ming Dynasty. Suo Chao has no idea what the Ming Dynasty will look like a century from now; new powerful individuals may rise again. But he simply wants to secure more living space for the descendants of the Chinese nation.
Suo Chao galloped all the way and finally arrived at the Tsar's border city of Yakutsk. He looked at the city from afar, his heart full of vigilance.
At this time, on the walls of Yakutsk, the Russian soldiers also noticed Suo Chao's arrival. They stared at this strange enemy nervously, holding their weapons tightly in their hands.
Suo Chao stopped his horse and quietly observed the defenses of Yakutsk. His eyes revealed a hint of disdain:
"Humph, the city defenses of Tsarist Russia are just this good."
Suddenly, the city gate opened and a group of Russian cavalry rushed out. They brandished their spears and charged towards Suo Chao. Suo Chao raised the corner of his mouth slightly, revealing a hint of a sneer:
"Just in time."
He drew his Xuanyuan Sword and charged at the Russian cavalry. A decisive battle ensued. Suo Chao's swordsmanship was unparalleled, and each strike could slay a Russian soldier. The Russian cavalry were horrified to discover how formidable this enemy was.
There were only 5000 Tsarist soldiers in the city. Sochao summoned 2 troops and launched a siege on Yakutsk.
Under the leadership of Suo Chao, the Ming army gradually gained the upper hand. The Russian army began to retreat step by step, and the Ming army finally succeeded in opening the city gates. The Ming army poured into the city like a tide, and the Russian army fell into chaos.
Suo Chao occupied Yakutsk and exiled 5 Tsarist Russian civilians to World D. He renamed the city "Yakutsk" and subsequently moved 50 Ming civilians and 20 troops into the city.
Suo Chao promoted a policy of treating the military and civilians as one family, vigorously developing wasteland and cultivating land in Yacheng, and building fortified fortresses. While ensuring self-sufficiency in food, he also encouraged the local people to have children, while the army continued to capture surrounding strategic locations.
In order to consolidate the defense of Yacheng, Suo Chao also worked to open up the lifeline between Yacheng and Liaodong. This plan was long, but necessary.
Suo Chao stood on the walls of Yakutsk, gazing at the captured city with a sense of accomplishment. He knew that this victory was only the beginning. The war between Ming and Tsarist Russia would continue, and the armies of the new Ming must fight for the future of the Ming.
