At the Battle of Changping, Zhao Kuo, unaware that the enemy commander was Bai Qi, underestimated the enemy and advanced rashly, falling prey to Bai Qi's scheme to lure the enemy deeper into their territory. The 45-man army was divided and annihilated by the 60-man Qin army, leaving the Zhao army, starved of food, in a desperate situation.

The Zhao army was without food for 46 days, suffering from a lack of food and water, and even incidents of cannibalism. Zhao Kuo tried many times to organize a large-scale breakout, but to no avail.

Today was even worse. Zhao Kuo tried to break out again, but was shot and seriously injured by the Qin army, and the Zhao army was in chaos.

"Zhao Kuo is dead! Those who surrender will not be killed." The Qin army shouted in unison.

"The commander of the Zhao army is dead, and those who surrender will not be killed!" The Qin army shouted like thunder.
