Rebirth in 1958: Getting rich starts from Nanluoguxiang

The Indigo Factory Firearms Camp was where the Eight Banners officers and soldiers of the Qing Dynasty practiced and performed martial arts. It was originally a military camp and later became a residential area.

Outside the main street, there are eight horizontal alleys from south to north, and each horizontal alley is divided into seven small alleys. In this way, there are as many as 65 streets and alleys from south to north in the entire Firearm Camp.

The inside and outside of the Firearm Camp are separated by a large wall surrounding the camp, also known as the "Old Wall". It is several kilometers long and is made of cement. Outside the camp wall is a river called the Qingshui River.

In the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, Huoqiying Village was once a settlement area for Manchus. There were tens of thousands of bannermen and their families living here. Later, merchants and peddlers from Shandong, Shanxi and Hebei set up a market outside the south gate of the barracks and also settled around it, and the population became more complicated from then on.

The Indigo Factory Firearms Battalion became famous because of a legend in the capital.

It is said that Song Laosan and his family lived in the Firearm Camp, and they made a living by growing opium and running an opium den.

The old couple had no sons, only a daughter, whom they nicknamed Dalian.

When Dalian was sixteen or seventeen years old, she was really beautiful and graceful. The matchmaker came to her house, but Song Lao San and his wife were busy eating, drinking and having fun all day and did not care about their daughter's marriage.

Later, Dalian met a young man named Tong Xiaoliu, and they fell in love secretly.

Once, Xiaoliu came to Dalian's house, and they were discovered by Song Laosan while they were having a secret meeting. This caused a big disaster. This was a big deal that disgraced their ancestors and brought disgrace to the family. Song Laosan beat Dalian with a whip until her skin was torn and flesh was exposed. He gave her a kitchen knife, a rope, and a pair of scissors and asked her to commit suicide. In the end, Dalian was forced to do nothing and jumped into the Huying River, also known as the Qingshui River, at the door.

After the incident, Xiaoliu ran away because of fear. After a while, he heard that Dalian had jumped into the river and died. On a windy and rainy night, he brought offerings and paper money to commemorate his sister Dalian. After the ceremony, poor Xiaoliu also jumped into the river. This is a modern story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, which was later adapted into a Beijing folk song called "Exploring the Qingshui River".

But in fact, it was the Manchu Wulan Suo who was attracted by Da Lian's beauty and gave Song Lao San and his wife 100 taels of silver as a betrothal gift, wanting to marry Da Lian as his thirteenth concubine. Da Lian refused to obey and cut off her hair in public to show her determination and curse Wulan Suo.

Wulan Suo held a grudge and ordered his men to push Dalian into the Qingshui River late at night. After Dalian drowned, Xiao Liu took a machete, sneaked into Wulan Suo's home, killed Wulan Suo, and then surrendered himself. He was exiled to Xinjiang and was never heard from again.

Over the past few decades, people who have lived in this firearms camp have done all kinds of things, including swindlers and fraudsters, and are all vicious.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the government vigorously cracked down on and banned brothels and opium dens. Some people, left with no other options, resorted to human trafficking.

Qian Pozi was one of them. She originally ran a brothel. At the end of 49, brothels were banned in Beijing, and she lost her source of income.

She discussed it with her son Qian Jinhu and decided to kidnap people.

Po-zi Qian was in charge of pretending to be pitiful and luring kind-hearted women to help. Qian Jinhu took the opportunity to drug her and knock her out, and took her away in a sack.

Then Mrs. Qian went to contact the buyer, and Qian Jinhu tortured the woman he had kidnapped at home.

This thief couple lived alone in a small courtyard, which was very secluded. They had been trafficking people for several years without being discovered, and the neighbors were unaware of it.

This morning, they did the same thing again and caught a little girl, who was about fifteen or sixteen years old.

Mrs. Qian was busy cooking. After dinner, they would go to the countryside to find a buyer. Qian Jinhu squatted beside her, drooling at the unconscious little girl.

Mrs. Qian never cared about her son. As someone who had run a brothel, what was wrong with her son playing with a few women? Aren't women just playthings? They were there for her and her mother to eat, drink, and have fun.

After the meal was ready, the mother and daughter sat at the table to eat, and then went about their business.

At this moment, people started jumping down from the wall of their house. Before the mother and the daughter could react, their faces were pressed into the bowl, and their heads were covered with dumpling soup and vegetable leaves.

Just as Mrs. Qian was about to shout, she saw the two people holding her son down were wearing official uniforms. Her head buzzed and she cried out in her heart, "It's over!"

The door opened and Dabao walked in, followed by Tang Liru who lowered her head, and Zuo Mingyue and Daya, who were wearing police uniforms and belts around their waists.

Dabao and his companions entered the main room. A comrade from the Public Security Brigade came over and whispered, "Chief Qin, an unconscious little girl was found in the room."

Dabao's brows furrowed. He looked at the disheveled Qian Pozi and her son with disgust, then turned around and said, "Miss Tang, please identify them. Is it them?"

Tang Liru raised her head slightly and walked over. The police had already handcuffed the two of them behind their backs and forced them to sit on chairs.

Tang Liru squatted down and stared at Mrs. Qian in a daze. Mrs. Qian didn't understand what was going on. She didn't recognize Tang Liru either. She just kept shouting that she was innocent. She had completely forgotten that there was a newly abducted little girl in her bed.

Tang Liru raised her head and looked at the woman whom she hated to the core. In the past four years, she had never forgotten this face.
