Qin Dabao was no stranger to the Sijiqing Commune. This name would become famous in the next few decades because it supplied a quarter of Beijing's vegetable needs and was the first place in Beijing to have greenhouse vegetable cultivation.

The Sijiqing Commune was originally named Sijiqing Vegetable Cooperative. It was formed at the end of 58 by the merger of eight cooperatives including Yuquan, Xishan, and Xiangshan. It is also the largest township-level commune in Beijing.
