Practical Teaching: A Guide to the Training of a Humanoid Succubus
Chapter 8 Interview
(Because I've received so much feedback, I'll address them all here: First, I didn't find any explicit language in the original text prohibiting part-time work. Second, I said in the first chapter that I would change some settings to make the whole story more reasonable. I even used Japanese prices for prices. Finally, this is fan fiction.)
(I hope everyone will stop saying that part-time work is not allowed in real teaching, because some points in the later stage will not match without patches)
Knock knock knock~
Dongfang Yi put the recording phone into his pocket, took a step forward and knocked on the door gently.
"Please come in."
A deep male voice came from the door labeled "Manager's Office".
When Dongfang Yi pushed the door open, he saw a middle-aged man in a suit. His shiny Mediterranean hair made him believe that he had judged the man's age correctly.
It’s impossible that characters with attributes like Katsuragi are everywhere.
"Hello."
Dongfang Yi nodded slightly, then sat down across from the reception table with the man in front of him.
"Could you please introduce yourself?"
The middle-aged man pretentiously took out a blank notebook, placed it on his knees, and took out a ballpoint pen, as if he was about to start drawing.
"Dongfang Yi, male, 18 years old, freshman in Class A, Grade 1. He is good at cooking and pastry making. He intends to work part-time as a waiter."
Dongfang Yi’s introduction is concise and to the point.
"Yeah, okay." The middle-aged man nodded perfunctorily. Just as he was about to continue asking, he suddenly realized: "Huh? Freshmen? Class A?"
No, you are a freshman in Class A and you are here to do this kind of work?
He subconsciously opened his eyes wide, somewhat in disbelief, but seemed to have thought of something and immediately concealed his expression.
The middle-aged man swallowed and said, "My name is Fujimoto Shu, and I'm the current manager of this cafe. May I ask why Dongfang-san wants to work part-time?"
"This is my personal exploration of campus life. Can Mr. Fujimoto understand what I'm saying?"
Dongfang Yi practiced Tai Chi without changing his expression. This situation was within his expectations.
And he doesn't need to act humble. After all, this is just an academy simulation, not a real job experience.
How could a school that claims to simulate a social environment not have Japanese-style scenes like part-time jobs?
Otherwise, what should we do when the class points are zero?
If you really have to eat dirt, you will starve to death.
"Dongfang-san, I kind of understand what you mean, but I just don't quite understand." Manager Fujimoto was intrigued by the person before him. "Dongfang-san has only just started school, right? Could he have used up all his 100,000 points so quickly?"
"Not yet. I haven't found an opportunity to spend a lot of points yet, and my personal daily expenses don't require that much."
"So, is Dongfang's reason for applying for the job... out of interest?"
"That's only half the reason. As for the other half, Mr. Fujimoto, why don't you take a guess?"
"Dongfang-kun, you should tell us everything you know during an interview. This is the candidate's duty."
"Really? Unfortunately, I don't think so, Mr. Fujimoto." Dongfang Yi remained unmoved and said calmly, "For me, Paret is indeed the best choice, but not the only one. But for you, I am the only one who can answer your curiosity now, right?"
“…” Manager Fujimoto fell silent.
"Everything you take has its own reward. Mr. Fujimoto, if you agree to work part-time, I'll answer your questions. It's a fair deal. Besides, reporting on student situations to higher-ups is also within your job scope, right? The reward won't be low, will it?"
"Okay, I can make the decision. You can start working now." Manager Fujimoto offered the conditions.
"What's the hourly wage?"
"300 point."
"That's a bit too low, Mr. Fujimoto. As far as I know, the hourly wage for part-time workers in the Tokyo area is around 1200 yen."
"But this school offers free accommodation, free water and electricity, and monthly points. Also, part-time jobs are limited."
"I see, but I'm still not satisfied with the salary. How about this: Monday to Friday, work 4 hours every afternoon after school, and the hourly wage is 1000 points." Dongfang Yi offered the price.
"I admit that Dongfang-kun's image is very advantageous, and the other conditions are acceptable, but the hourly wage you're asking for is too high. 400 points."
"900 points. I can take a step back."
"500 points, that's all I can add."
"850 points, trust me, your bid is worth it."
"600 points, no more, this is the limit."
"800 points. I can also work in the kitchen if necessary."
Manager Fujimoto's expression changed, and he felt conflicted, as if he was calculating something, but he finally agreed.
"Can you clear my confusion now?"
"Because there's free food in the cafeteria. And, if I'm not mistaken, the complexions of students in different groups dining in the cafeteria are very different."
"complexion?"
"Yes. Some students, seemingly lacking sufficient meat and protein intake for a long time, have dull and listless complexions. They're the ones most drawn to the free vegetable combo. Meanwhile, some students, radiant and rosy-cheeked, look well-maintained, and wouldn't even glance at that combo."
Dongfang Yi spoke without hesitation, but in reality, he had only taken a quick look at the vegetable set during lunch, confirming that there was no meat in it, and then left. He hadn't observed it as carefully as he claimed.
"You're quite observant. But just based on that..." Manager Fujimoto abruptly changed the subject: "Is that enough to warrant a part-time job?"
"That's enough, isn't it? Why would Manager Fujimoto ask such a question when he already knows the answer?"
"what do you know?"
"The points issued by the school are not fixed." Dongfang Yi spread his hands, as if he was just mentioning a trivial matter.
Fujimoto inevitably showed a look of shock.
Although as a school employee, the man named Fujimoto was well aware of the hidden rules of these schools, he was still shocked to hear such things from a freshman who had just enrolled for less than a day.
Are there really humans who can be so perceptive?
Dongfang Yi didn't know what he was thinking. If he knew, he would definitely not mind answering his questions.
Dongfang Yi didn't know what ordinary people would do, but this little thing couldn't be hidden from the script-holding cheater~
However, the kind-hearted Dongfang Yi still matched his expression perfectly and nodded, saying, "As expected, I guess the school must have some kind of assessment to determine the points to be awarded next month."
Manager Fujimoto realized that he had made a mistake: "I...I didn't say anything."
"Yes, your meaning is written all over your face; you really didn't say it out loud. However, judging by your caution, the school must have issued a gag order or something like that. But a regular ban is clearly not enough to silence someone. In that case, is it a punishment like expulsion or expulsion?"
If you know the answer, you can solve the problem quickly.
Dongfang Yi only needs a seemingly reasonable explanation to make people believe that all this is based on reasoning, and thus be convinced of his strength.
“…” Manager Fujimoto covered his face with his hands and tried hard to adjust his expression.
Yes, so true.
The student in front of me had almost completely correct reasoning, except for some deviations in certain areas.
He had perfectly seen through the school's initial ill will towards the incoming freshmen.
Manager Fujimoto smiled and shook his head, then stood up and stretched out his hand.
He no longer looked down on the person in front of him: "Dongfang, congratulations, you passed my interview."
Dongfang Yi also naturally extended his hand and shook hands with him politely: "Thank you very much for your appreciation, Manager Fujimoto."
"I don't deserve your appreciation. This is a fair deal. Your excellence truly impresses me."
"Thank you again for your trust. I look forward to your continued guidance over the next month."
"A month? That's right. A student as outstanding as Dongfang-jun wouldn't spend too much time on such trivial matters."
