Quick Travel: Destiny for Thirty Lifetimes
Chapter 83 Why is my deskmate crying again? (9)
From that day on, the two of them reconciled inexplicably, leaving Ma Sixue confused and unsure why.
After two weeks of getting up early and going to bed late, half studying and half not studying, No. 3 Middle School had its monthly exam. Because it was the beginning of the semester, the knowledge was not difficult, and everyone looked relaxed when they left the exam room. Lian Qingyang saw Jing Chen and Ma Sixue waiting for him when he came out of the exam room. His grades were not as good as theirs, so naturally he was not in the same exam room with them.
Ma Sixue waved at him when he came out, and when he approached, he put his hand on his shoulder and asked as they walked: "Brother Qing, how did you do on the math test? I just checked the answers to the multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions with Brother Jing, and they are exactly the same, hehe."
The math exam is the second to last exam. They can go home early after taking the biology exam in the afternoon.
Although Lian Qingyang had not been studying as much as Jing Chen in the past month, he listened carefully to every class. In addition, he had his own knowledge base, so he did well in the exams over the past two days and rarely did he not understand any questions.
He nodded when he heard that: "It's not bad, it shouldn't be the last in our class."
Ma Sixue exclaimed, "Hi!" "Your hard work this month is evident to everyone in the class. I've never seen you study so hard before. You'll definitely be in the upper-middle range in this exam. You're a dark horse."
Lian Qingyang shook his head modestly.
Jing Chen nodded in agreement.

After the afternoon exam, Lian Qingyang went straight to the dormitory. As soon as he entered the dormitory, he saw Jing Chengang pulling up two suitcases.
Seeing him breathing lightly, Jing Chen frowned: "I'll just take it down, why come up? Didn't I tell you to wait downstairs?" The two of them agreed to go directly to Lian Qingyang's house for dinner this afternoon.
Lian Qingyang put one hand on his waist, walked over and took his suitcase, and sighed softly: "Same as before, same as before, let's go, Uncle Chen is waiting at the school gate."
The car drove for a while and passed a shopping mall. Jing Chen shouted to stop the car. Uncle Chen was confused and obediently found a parking space and stopped.
When Jing Chen got into the car with his things, Lian Qingyang finally understood: "Why are you buying things? They don't need anything."
Jing Chen shook his head and sat up straight. "It's one thing for your parents to have everything they need, but it's another for me to go to your house and buy something. Although I can't afford something too expensive, it's my first visit, so I can't lose my manners."
Lian Qingyang tilted his head and leaned it against the back of the seat in front of him, motioning Jing Chen to look at him. He said silently, "You look a bit like you're going to your boyfriend's house for the first time."
Jing Chen's body stiffened. He turned his face away and looked out the window without saying a word, but his ears slowly turned red.
Lian Qingyang stopped teasing him, smiled, straightened up and leaned back, turning his head to look at the rapidly receding scenery outside the window.
When they arrived at the Lian family's house, Lian's mother came to greet them. She responded to Jing Chen's "Hello, Auntie," reached out to take the things Jing Chen brought, smiled and led them to the living room. After pouring water for them, she gently said, "Xiao Jing, what else did you bring? You're still a student, don't spend too much."
Jing Chen shook his head to indicate that it was nothing. "It's my first time visiting aunt and uncle. The gift is not expensive, it's just a token of my appreciation."
Lian's mother nodded and said, "Okay, we understand your kindness. Come visit us often in the future." She then turned to look at Lian Qingyang and said, "Qingqing, are you tired? Why don't you take Xiaojing upstairs and rest for a while? It's not time for dinner yet."
*
Lian Qingyang responded with a "OK" and stood up to take Jing Chen upstairs to his room. The room was large, yet it had a panoramic view: next to a bookshelf that was half the height of the wall was a large desk with a computer and study materials on it. In the middle was a single sofa and a table full of snacks. On the other side was a large bed covered with blue and white sheets. There were several photo frames on the bedside table, including photos of himself and photos of his family.
Jing Chen walked over to the photo frame and examined it carefully. Lian Qingyang went to the bathroom first. When he came out, he walked up behind him, poked his head out and asked, "Did you see anything?"
"You have a very good relationship with your family." Jing Chen's gaze stayed on a family photo, and Lian Qingyang followed his gaze. It was a photo taken during the Chinese New Year a few years ago with the elderly people and uncles and aunts in the family. Lian's father and mother were standing behind the two elderly people, and Lian Qingyang was sitting cross-legged in front of the two elderly people, looking up at them with a big laugh. The elderly people lowered their heads slightly and smiled at him kindly.
Lian Qingyang rolled his eyes and asked Jing Chen, "Then don't you think I'm not very similar to them?"
Jing Chen was shocked when he heard this. He had actually noticed earlier that Lian Qingyang's features didn't resemble those of his family members. However, their similar temperaments made the difference seem negligible. "You all have the same temperament..."
"These are all cultivated. Nobility breeds people. If you had grown up in my house, you would definitely be more like my dad than me, because my dad is also the kind of man who doesn't talk much. He only talks more to my mom." Lian Qingyang glanced at Jing Chen for a few times, then looked at his father in the photo. Apart from the eyebrows and eyes, the lower half of the face really did look a bit similar.
Jing Chen's expression froze. He turned around, grabbed Lian Qingyang's shoulders, and said in a low voice, "Don't talk nonsense. You are the young master of the Lian family. Don't talk nonsense again."
Lian Qingyang raised his eyebrows, stared into Jing Chen's eyes, and said softly, "You figured it out..."
He broke free from Jing Chen's hands, sat on the edge of the bed, and shrugged nonchalantly: "Do you think my parents will be at ease with you staying by my side until the matter is thoroughly investigated? You're so smart, you can see it, but my dad is your father, how could he not see it? He probably didn't tell Mom the truth, but Mom and you get along very well. Maybe it's the blood bond? Actually, my dad is pretty stupid too. You've been hanging around under his nose the whole time, and he only found you now..."
Half of his face was suddenly covered by a hand. Lian Qingyang looked up at the person standing in front of him and was forced to swallow the rest of his words.
Jing Chen's mind was a little confused after hearing this. When he came to his senses, his hand had already covered the lower half of Lian Qingyang's face, with his thumb pressing on his mouth.
"Stop talking. You...stay here well. I...I have something to do and I'm leaving first." After saying that, Jing Chen withdrew his hand and turned to walk towards the door. He accidentally tripped over himself, but fortunately he didn't fall. He opened the door and walked out, then closed the door again. He walked downstairs in a hurry, said goodbye to Lian's mother, and left without paying any attention to her trying to keep him.
Lian Qingyang didn't expect Jing Chen to react like this. He sat there for a while. Then there was a knock on the door, and Lian's mother's voice rang out outside: "Qingqing, why is Xiaojing leaving in such a hurry? Did you have a fight?"
He stood up and opened the door, smiling sweetly: "It's okay, Mom. He has something going on at home. I'll bring him home for dinner later."
Lian's mother blurted out, "He didn't grow up in an orphanage..." Suddenly reacting, she said with an embarrassed expression, "Mom didn't mean to investigate your friends, she was just worried about your safety..."
Lian Qingyang's expression didn't change as he comforted her: "It's okay, Mom. I know you're doing this for my own good. Is the meal ready? I'm a little hungry."
Lian's mother nodded quickly and took Lian Qingyang's arm and went downstairs: "It's almost done. Qingqing, can you eat something to fill your stomach first?"
Following the force down the stairs, Lian Qingyang said "hmm" and didn't ask too many questions to irritate his mother. But it was certain that she must have had mental problems. Lian Qingyang planned to find some time to ask his father about the part of his memory that he had lost in elementary school.
