Reborn, I am doing involution on Jinshan

Chapter 7 Sister and brother recognize each other

After a moment of excitement, the phone rang. Yin Xiaoyao saw that it was an unfamiliar landline number. She hesitated for a moment before answering: "Hello, who is this?"

A young man's voice came from the other end of the phone: "Sister, this is your brother Deng Chenjun... I went to the store to find you and told you to take a break. Where are you? I have something to talk to you about. Is it convenient?"

Yin Xiaoyao, the fake female imperial teacher, was bewildered. She quickly searched the original owner's memory but found no information about this younger brother, indicating that the two had never met. She was apprehensive: "It seems we haven't met before. Do you know my name?"

Deng Chenjun gritted his teeth: "Yin Xiaoyao, right? The family that adopted you is named Yin."

Yin Xiaoyao was shocked and thought to herself, "This kid can actually call out my name. Could he really be the original owner's brother? But why doesn't the original owner have any memory of him?"

She calmed herself down and said, "Since you said you are my brother, then tell me why you are looking for me?"

Deng Chenjun on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment, as if sorting out his thoughts, and then said, "Sister, our grandma is sick, and mom and dad just went south, and they're in urgent need of money. I really have no other choice but to come to you."

Yin Xiaoyao frowned, feeling troubled. "What should I do? I know nothing about your situation." But she still said, "Don't worry. Where are you now? I'll come find you and talk to you in person."

Deng Chenjun gave an address, and Yin Xiaoyao hurried over. When she saw Deng Chenjun, he looked like a high school student, and his face was a little similar to hers, but he looked haggard and his eyes were bloodshot.

"Sister, you are finally here." Deng Chenjun's voice was tinged with tears.

Yin Xiaoyao looked at him and couldn't help feeling a trace of pity in her heart, but she didn't know how to deal with this sudden situation.

Deng Chenjun said anxiously, "The doctor said that grandma's illness can't be delayed any longer, and the surgery fee is still a large sum. Sister, you must think of a way. I..."

Yin Xiaoyao bit her lip and said, "I will try my best, but I don't have that much money right now. I'm just a small employee and my salary is not high."

A hint of disappointment flashed across Deng Chenjun's eyes, but she still said, "Sister, I know this is very difficult for you, but grandma's illness can't be delayed."

Yin Xiaoyao took a deep breath and said, "I'll work with you to find a solution. Let's go to the hospital to see grandma first."

The two rushed to the hospital together. Learning that her grandfather was still there, Yin Xiaoyao's heart grew heavier. She wasn't sure if she could handle this complicated situation. This was her first time in this world, and there were still many things she hadn't figured out yet.

When she arrived outside her grandmother's ward, Yin Xiaoyao saw through the window the frail, white-haired old man lying on the hospital bed, with a gray-haired old man sitting next to him. An inexplicable sadness welled up in her heart.

Deng Chenjun's eyes were red, and she said in a low voice, "Sister, grandma keeps talking about you."

Yin Xiaoyao gently opened the door and walked to the bedside of her grandmother. She was a kind-looking old man. Grandma opened her eyes with great effort and saw her with a relieved smile on her face: "Xiaoyao, you are here." Grandpa also nodded to her excitedly.

Yin Xiaoyao held her grandmother's hand and said, "Grandma, don't worry, you will be fine."

Grandma said weakly: "Child, don't embarrass yourself, grandma's old bones..."

"Grandma, don't say that." Yin Xiaoyao interrupted her grandmother, "We will definitely find a way to cure you."

Coming out of the ward, Yin Xiaoyao said to Deng Chenjun, "I'll go find a way to borrow some money. You stay here and take good care of grandma."

Deng Chenjun nodded: "Sister, thank you for your hard work."

After asking some more questions about grandpa, the three of them discussed it and decided to go directly to the attending physician. They learned that grandma needed a major heart bypass surgery, which would cost around 7 to 8 yuan.

Looking at her brother Deng Chenjun, whose handsome face was pale, his thin lips were tightly pursed, and fear was in his eyes, Yin Xiaoyao asked with difficulty: "Doctor Zhu, how long can my grandma live after this operation?"

Middle-aged Dr. Zhu was silent for a moment and then said, "It's really hard to say. Coronary heart disease is an elderly disease, and it also depends on whether the patient has other underlying diseases. Some patients can live for 5-10 years after surgery if the venous graft doesn't occlude. But if the lymphatic graft has problems and the blood vessels bleed repeatedly, then it's even more difficult to say."

The brother and sister gasped when they heard this. Deng Chendong said timidly, "Doctor Zhu, please help me save my grandma."

Doctor Zhu nodded. "Your grandmother still needs to undergo mitral valve replacement and tricuspid valve repair. There are a lot of problems. However, if she takes anticoagulants regularly every day to improve her quality of life and eliminate blood vessel blockage, she shouldn't have any problem living another 2-5 years at her advanced age."

Seeing that the two seemed like sensible young people, Dr. Zhu offered a few more words. His message was clear: willpower cannot overcome the laws of nature. The grand theory that willpower can kill cancer cells is useless for cardiovascular surgery, and even after surgery, there are still many complications.

After asking some dietary precautions, the brother and sister thanked Dr. Zhu gratefully and returned to their grandmother's ward.

Grandfather Deng Chongming pulled his granddaughter out of the ward and whispered, "I still have some savings. Your father said to transfer the money as soon as possible. Don't worry about the money. Just study hard and work hard."

She looked at Yin Xiaoyao again and said, "Xiaoyao, I'm sorry to meet you in this way. Grandma's wish is that you come home often to visit us. You don't have to feel too much psychological burden."

Yin Xiaoyao nodded: "Grandpa, I will come back to see you often. I came in a hurry just now and forgot to bring the gift. It's my fault."

Her younger brother Deng Chenjun tugged at her clothes and said, "Sister, grandma is very happy to see you. She won't mind."

Grandpa tried hard to force out a kind smile of an elder: "Xiaoyao, I'm glad you're here. If grandma is in a good mood, her illness will naturally get better soon."

Deng Chenjun, the younger brother, nodded and said, "Grandpa, I'm going to go home and get some clothes. Then the three of us can discuss how to take turns to take care of grandma."

Grandpa agreed: "Okay, I see you are tired, you two don't need to come tonight. I will notify you after grandma has surgery. I may need your help then."

Deng Chenjun, his younger brother, turned and left the hospital, heading home. His heart was heavy along the way. When he got home, he simply packed some clothes and sat on the sofa, his mind reeling in the image of his grandmother lying frail in the hospital bed.

Grandpa in the hospital stayed by grandma's bedside, gently holding her hand and muttering to himself, praying that she could get through this difficult time.

After leaving the hospital and gazing at the bustling streets, she felt lost. Since her grandfather's medical bills had been resolved, she decided to focus on herself and go to the electric donkey shop. She was unfamiliar with the place and had no connections, so getting anything done wasn't easy.
