The setting sun cast a slanting light across the small town streets, gilding everything with a faint golden glow. Renault and Wang Jing strolled hand in hand along this familiar path, their faces brimming with joy, as if the entire world had become a better place thanks to their reconciliation. However, beyond this heartwarming scene, in a dark corner, Leah stared intently at them, her eyes gleaming with jealousy.

Leah, wearing a tight black dress, stood in the shadow of an old locust tree, her figure almost swallowed by the night. Her fingers unconsciously twisted together, revealing her inner anxiety and uneasiness. Watching the intimate relationship between Renault and Wang Jing, her heart felt as if it were pierced by thousands of needles, and jealousy gnawed at her like a venomous snake.

"Why are they so happy?" Leah growled in her heart, her eyes revealing an almost crazy obsession. "I'm obviously better than Wang Jing and more worthy of Renault! Why did he choose her?"
