It's not too late to meet in the book

The night was as dark as ink, deep and silent, broken only by the occasional chirping of insects. The dim streetlights stretched Renault's figure out into a long shadow. Standing at the doorway of Su Xiaoxiao's house, he looked utterly lonely. His eyes were filled with anxiety and anticipation, his hands clenched into fists, as if trying to stifle a gasp.

Renault raised his hand, his fingertips lightly touching the cold door, but then hesitated for a moment. An indescribable fear welled up in his heart, fearing that Wang Jing would reject him, that their relationship would be completely broken. He muttered to himself, "Jingjing, I know you're angry and sad right now, but I really hope you can give me a chance to explain."

After saying this, Lei Nuo seemed to have exhausted all his strength. He leaned against the door, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. The air was filled with the faint fragrance of flowers, coming from the flowerbed in front of Su Xiaoxiao's house, but Lei Nuo had no intention of appreciating it. His heart was filled with only Wang Jing, the figure that haunted him.

Time ticked by, and Renault waited silently, like a statue frozen in this moment. Occasionally, he could hear faint sounds from inside the house—Su Xiaoxiao and Wang Jing talking, but he couldn't make out what they were saying. He felt helpless and anxious. He wanted to rush in to find Wang Jing, but he was afraid his impulsiveness would only make her even angrier.

Renault's thoughts drifted back to the past, every moment he'd spent with Wang Jing replaying in his mind like a movie. The roads they'd walked together, the times they'd spent together, seemed to be right before his eyes. He remembered Wang Jing's smile, her gentle words, every little tacit understanding between them. Yet, now, it all seemed blocked by an invisible barrier, leaving him unable to touch.

He lowered his head, looking at his toes, and an uncontrollable sadness welled up in his heart. He didn't know why things had turned out like this, and he didn't know what he could do to save this relationship. He only knew that he couldn't lose Wang Jing, the woman he loved so deeply.

Just then, there was the sound of light footsteps. Renault's heartbeat quickened. He looked up, staring intently at the closed door. However, the footsteps stopped at the door; it remained open. An indescribable sense of loss welled up in Renault's heart. He could almost sense Wang Jing was on the other side of the door, unwilling to see him.

He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. He knew he couldn't just give up. He had to find a way to get Wang Jing to listen to his explanation. So, he mustered up his courage and knocked on the door again.

This time, Su Xiaoxiao's voice came from inside the door: "Who is it?"

Renault quickly replied: "It's me, Renault. I want to talk to Jingjing."

There was silence inside the door for a while, and then Su Xiaoxiao's somewhat embarrassed voice came: "Renault, Jingjing doesn't want to see you now. She needs some time to calm down, you should go back first."

An irrepressible anxiety and helplessness welled up in Renault's heart. He gripped the door handle tightly, as if that would bring him closer to Wang Jing. "Xiaoxiao, please let me see Jingjing. I really have something to say to her. I can't just leave like this."

There was silence again for a while, and then Su Xiaoxiao's helpless voice came: "Renault, what you are doing will only make Jingjing more upset. What she needs now is quiet and space, not your entanglement. You should go back first. When Jingjing has thought it through, she will contact you."

Hearing this, Lei Nuo felt an indescribable bitterness well up in his heart. He knew Su Xiaoxiao was right, but he couldn't just leave. He couldn't lose Wang Jing, couldn't lose this relationship. So, he decided to wait at the door until Wang Jing was willing to see him.

Lei Nuo waited quietly at the door of Su Xiaoxiao's house. His heart was filled with anxiety and anticipation, but he was helpless. He didn't know when Wang Jing would be willing to see him, but he knew he would wait until Wang Jing appeared in front of him.

As the night deepened, the light of the street lamps grew dimmer. Renault looked particularly lonely and helpless in the darkness. But he did not give up. He still waited firmly, waiting for the woman he loved deeply to appear before him.

After an unknown amount of time, Wang Jing's voice finally came from inside the door: "Renault, are you still there?"

Upon hearing this, Renault felt an irrepressible excitement surge in his heart. He quickly replied, "Jingjing, I've been waiting for you. I have something to tell you. Can you give me a chance?"

There was silence inside the door for a while, and then Wang Jing's choked voice came: "Okay, come in. But I only give you ten minutes."

Upon hearing this, Renault felt an indescribable joy surge in his heart. He knew this was a chance Wang Jing was giving him, his only chance to salvage their relationship. So, he pushed open the door, walked into the house, and headed towards the figure that haunted him.
