Chapter 51: Castle Mystery

The night was as dark as ink, and the ancient castle looked even more mysterious under the moonlight, like a silent old man, quietly telling a thousand-year-old secret. Su Xiaoxiao, Lin Yu, Li Ming, and Yang Tao stood in front of the castle gate, looking at this magnificent yet gloomy building, their hearts filled with curiosity and a little uneasiness.

"This castle looks even older than I imagined." Lin Yu said softly, his fingers gently running across the reliefs on the door. The patterns seemed to be telling a story of forgotten history.

"Yeah, and..." Su Xiaoxiao frowned, and her ears moved slightly, as if trying to catch something. "Listen, what's that sound?"

Everyone immediately fell silent, only to hear a low and long echo coming from the depths of the castle. The sound seemed to travel through time and space, carrying an indescribable mystery and weirdness.

"It seems to be coming from inside." Li Ming lowered his voice, his eyes flashing with exploration, "We have to go in and take a look."

Pushing open the heavy iron gate, the four of them stepped into the castle's threshold. A musty, damp smell, mixed with the scent of ancient wood and stone, hit them, causing them to frown. The castle interior was dim, with only a few rays of moonlight filtering through the broken windows, casting mottled shadows on the ground.

"Everyone be careful, this place may be full of traps." Yang Tao reminded. He took out a flashlight from his backpack. A beam of light instantly cut through the darkness and illuminated the road ahead.

They slowly descended a narrow stone staircase, taking each step with extreme caution. On either side of the staircase were cold stone walls, covered in strange symbols, like some ancient writing that no one could decipher.

"These symbols seem to be guiding us in a certain direction." Su Xiaoxiao carefully observed the patterns on the stone wall. Her fingers gently touched the uneven carvings, trying to find clues from them.

"Look, there's a door there!" Lin Yu suddenly pointed to the front and said. Under the illumination of the flashlight, a hidden small door was revealed, and a faint light shone through the crack of the door, as if it was an unknown invitation.

They carefully pushed open the door, revealing a small room. Faded portraits hung on the walls, the figures in the paintings staring blankly at them through the canvas. In the center of the room sat an old wooden table, upon which rested a yellowed book, its pages gently turning in the breeze.

"This book seems to record the history of the castle." Li Ming walked forward and gently turned the page. Although the words were blurry, he could still make out some key information. "It seems that this castle is hiding many secrets."

"Shh, listen, the sound is coming again." Su Xiaoxiao suddenly interrupted Li Ming, a hint of nervousness flashed in her eyes.

The voice came again from the depths of the castle, clearer and more urgent, as if calling them, or perhaps warning them.

"We have to go deeper and find the source of the sound." Yang Tao said firmly. He gripped the flashlight tightly and led everyone in the direction of the sound.

They passed through one narrow passage after another, each step filled with uncertainty and danger. Sometimes, the floor would suddenly collapse, revealing a bottomless trap; sometimes, the traps on the wall would suddenly activate, shooting out sharp arrows. But with wisdom and courage, they overcame danger time and time again.

Finally, they came to a spacious hall. In the center of the hall was a huge stone platform with complex patterns carved on it. The mysterious voice came from under the platform.

"Look, there's a mechanism there!" Lin Yu pointed to a small groove on the stone platform and said, "Maybe we need to find something to activate it."

They began searching for clues and eventually found a strangely shaped stone in a corner. When Li Ming placed the stone into the groove, the stone platform suddenly vibrated and roared. Then, a beam of light shot out from the center of the stone platform, illuminating the entire hall.

"Is this... a gate of time and space?" Su Xiaoxiao shouted in surprise, looking at the scene in disbelief.

"It seems that we have found it." Li Ming took a deep breath, his eyes full of

Full of excitement, "But how do we open it?"

At this moment, the voice sounded again, this time it became soft and clear, as if guiding them.

"Perhaps, we need to unlock all the secrets of the castle before we can open this door." Su Xiaoxiao said thoughtfully, "Those rooms, those symbols, those portraits...they are all clues."
