It's not too late to meet in the book

On a quiet evening, the light in Lei Xiaoyue's study was soft, the air filled with the faint scent of ink and a hint of tension. The desk was covered with math workbooks and draft paper. Lei Xiaoyue and Lin Yuxuan were buried in a daunting math problem, their brows furrowed as their pens moved rapidly across the paper, as if searching for the secret hidden among the numbers and formulas.

The study window was half-open, a gentle breeze rustling through, bringing a touch of coolness. Moonlight from outside shone onto the desk, blending with the light from the room to create a warm and tranquil atmosphere. Lei Xiaoyue and Lin Yuxuan sat at the desk, their faces etched with concentration and determination, as if engaged in a silent battle.

"This question is really difficult. I have tried several methods, but it still doesn't work." Lei Xiaoyue sighed, and the pen in his hand unconsciously drew circles on the draft paper.

Hearing this, Lin Yuxuan looked up at Lei Xiaoyue, with a glint of encouragement in his eyes: "Don't be discouraged, Xiaoyue. Let's try again together, maybe we can find a new solution."

As he spoke, Lin Yuxuan pushed the draft paper in front of Lei Xiaoyue. It was densely covered with his attempts to solve the problem. Lei Xiaoyue took the draft paper and looked at it carefully, her brows slightly furrowed, as if she was thinking about something.

"Look, can we try using the 'substitution method' here? Although the question doesn't give a direct hint, maybe it will work." Lin Yuxuan pointed to a part of the question and explained patiently.

Lei Xiaoyue nodded, a glimmer of hope rekindled in her eyes: "Well, we can try. However, I'm still a little worried, what if this method doesn't work?"

Lin Yuxuan patted Lei Xiaoyue's shoulder and said with a smile: "Don't be afraid, even if this method doesn't work, we still have other options. The important thing is that we can't give up easily."

With Lin Yuxuan's encouragement, Lei Xiaoyue regained her spirits. Together, they returned to the problem and began to try to solve it using the "substitution method." Time ticked by, and the only sounds in the study were the scratching of pens on paper and the occasional rustling of pages.

However, after trying for a long time, they still couldn't find the correct answer. Lei Xiaoyue and Lin Yuxuan's faces once again showed expressions of fatigue and confusion.

"How about we go ask the parents?" Lei Xiaoyue suggested, with a hint of uncertainty in her voice.

Lin Yuxuan thought about it and nodded: "Okay, maybe they can give us some inspiration."

So, they walked out of the study together and came to the living room. Lei Xiaoyue's parents were sitting on the sofa chatting, and when they saw them coming, they showed a questioning look on their faces.

"Mom and Dad, we have a math problem that we can't solve. Can you help us?" Lei Xiaoyue said, with a hint of anticipation in her tone.

So, they picked up their exercise books and draft paper and hurried out of the house. In the night, their shadows were stretched out under the streetlights, as if declaring war on the unknown challenge.

Not long after, they arrived at Teacher Zhang's home. Seeing that they came to ask questions so late at night, Teacher Zhang showed an expression of approval on his face.

"Teacher Zhang, we have a math problem that we can't solve. Can you help us?" Lei Xiaoyue said, with a hint of urgency in her voice.
