It's not too late to meet in the book

Sunlight filtered through the half-drawn curtains, dappling into Lei Xiaoyue's bedroom, adding a touch of warmth to the quiet afternoon. A gentle breeze rustled the curtains, swaying softly like nature's gentle caress. Inside the room, the air was filled with the faint aroma of milk and the refreshing scent of laundry detergent. Everything seemed harmonious and tranquil.

Lei Xiaoyue lay in her small bed, covered in soft cotton sheets, soundly napping. Her hands unconsciously clenched into fists, occasionally waving them in her sleep, as if chasing some beautiful dream. Her long eyelashes trembled softly on her round face, and her small nose rose and fell with her even breathing. Everything seemed so pure and innocent.

In the kitchen, Wang Jing was busy preparing afternoon snacks. She was wearing a simple house dress, her hair casually tied in a low ponytail, a few strands of hair occasionally falling across her forehead. She expertly stirred the batter, occasionally glancing up at the wall clock, silently calculating the time Lei Xiaoyue would wake up, planning a surprise for her when she did—a freshly baked cake.

In the living room, Lei Nuo sat at his desk, absorbed in the work at hand. His eyes were sometimes solemn, sometimes gleaming with thought, his fingers tapping rapidly on the keyboard, producing a crisp, rhythmic sound. Despite his busy schedule, his heart was always occupied with Lei Xiaoyue, and every few minutes he would unconsciously glance up at her room to make sure everything was alright.

At that moment, a subtle but sudden sound shattered the tranquility of the house. It seemed to come from Lei Xiaoyue's room, a sound like the gentle collision of objects, mixed with faint cries. Renault immediately became alert. He put down his pen, stood up, and walked quickly towards Lei Xiaoyue's room, feeling an inexplicable tension welling up in his heart.

Wang Jing also stopped what she was doing almost immediately, her ears perked up, carefully identifying the source of the sound. After confirming it was Lei Xiaoyue's room, she quickly wiped her hands and followed, her face full of worry and anxiety.

As they pushed open the door, they were greeted by a scene that was both startling and surprising: Lei Xiaoyue had unknowingly turned over, her tiny body practically dangling over the edge of the bed, barely above the edge of the bed. Her hands waved helplessly, her face filled with fear and confusion, her eyes welling with tears, as if she were about to burst out in tears.

"Xiaoyue!" Renault rushed forward, quickly and gently supported Lei Xiaoyue, and gently carried her back to the center of the bed. At the same time, he gently patted her back with one hand and comforted her, "It's okay, Daddy is here, don't be afraid."

Wang Jing followed closely behind. Seeing her daughter safe and sound, the weight of her heart finally dropped, though her eyes were red with nervousness. She sat down beside the bed and gently stroked Lei Xiaoyue's hair, her voice so gentle it could melt everything: "Xiaoyue, you're so brave. Mom is here too. We're all here to protect you."

Lei Xiaoyue gradually calmed down with her parents' comfort. The fear on her face was replaced by curiosity. Her eyes widened, and she seemed both surprised and excited about her new skill. She made a "babbling" sound, as if to say, "Look, I did it!"

Renault looked at Wang Jing with a smile, his eyes full of satisfaction and pride: "Look, our Xiaoyue has grown up and can stand up."

Wang Jing nodded, tears glistening in her eyes, but they were tears of happiness. "Yes, time flies! She's grown up so fast! We thought it would take at least a few more months for her to learn to roll over."

Lei Nuo gently lifted Lei Xiaoyue and rested her against his shoulder. Feeling her warm body temperature and gentle breathing, his heart was filled with the joy and responsibility of being a parent. "Every moment of her growth is worth cherishing. We must take even more care of her in the future, while also giving her enough space to explore the world."

Wang Jing stood up and took out a clean little dress from the closet, ready to change Lei Xiaoyue into it. "You're right, we should protect her and encourage her at the same time. Xiaoyue, mommy will change your clothes, and then we'll go eat some cake together, okay?"

Lei Xiaoyue seemed to understand what her mother said. A bright smile bloomed on her little face. She waved her hands excitedly and giggled. It was a laugh full of curiosity and expectation about the unknown world.

Lei Nuo watched this scene from the side, his heart filled with an unprecedented sense of happiness. He gently kissed Lei Xiaoyue on the cheek and said softly, "Xiaoyue, you are the pride of your parents. We love you."

After Wang Jing changed her clothes, she took Lei Xiaoyue with her. The three of them walked out of the bedroom and headed for the kitchen. The sun was still shining brightly, and the house was filled with warmth and laughter. Lei Xiaoyue's transformation not only brought her the surprise of growth, but also filled the family with more love and hope.

"Xiaoyue, when you eat the cake later, you must tell your mother how you learned to roll over." Wang Jing teased Lei Xiaoyue as they walked, her tone full of pampering.
