The Land of the Earth
Chapter 2 Song Chaoming was injured
Song Chaoming lived in Tu Village for more than two months. During this time, he got along well with the villagers of Tu Village and deeply felt the warmth and uniqueness of this village.
Life in Tu Village is simple and peaceful. People work from sunrise to sunset, help each other and are as close as a family.
On this day, Song Chaoming got up early as usual. The morning sun gently shone on the adobe houses in Tu Village, covering the entire village with a golden veil.
He opened the door, took a deep breath of fresh air, and felt the beautiful day.
As soon as Song Chaoming walked out of the room, he heard a noise coming from not far away.
The sound broke the tranquility of the village and seemed particularly abrupt.
He was full of doubts, frowning slightly, wondering who was arguing so early in the morning. So he walked quickly forward in the direction of the sound.
Song Chaoming came to a house with the door half-open. The noise came from inside.
He gently pushed the door open and was surprised by the scene before him.
The village chief had a serious look on his face, his hands behind his back, and was talking loudly to a girl.
The girl also had a stubborn look on her face and stared at the village chief without giving in.
Song Chaoming walked in and asked softly, "What's wrong, clan leader grandpa?" His voice broke the tense atmosphere in the room.
When the village chief heard Song Chaoming's voice, he turned around, his expression softened a little, but still with a hint of helplessness and worry, and said, "Hey, Chaoming, this is my granddaughter Jingyun.
This girl is so ignorant and insists on going out to play. I told her it's dangerous outside, but she just won't listen."
Song Chaoming looked at Jingyun and saw that she was wearing a simple coarse cloth dress, but it could not hide her lively and agile temperament.
Her eyes were big and now round with anger, and her cheeks were flushed with excitement.
When Jingyun heard what his grandfather said, he said unconvincedly, "Grandpa, I've been staying in the village all day and I'm almost getting sick from being bored.
I just want to go out and take a look, what danger can there be?"
Song Chaoming quickly said, "I also want to go out and play, so let's go together and take care of each other.
Maybe we can make some new discoveries." His eyes were full of anticipation and sincerity.
After hearing what Song Chaoming said, the village chief hesitated for a long time.
He paced back and forth in the room, rubbing his hands together, a look of worry on his face.
Finally, he sighed and said, "Okay, but you must be careful and don't go too far.
The world outside is not like our village. It is full of monsters and ghosts, and full of dangers."
After getting permission, Song Chaoming and Jingyun both smiled excitedly. They introduced themselves to each other and walked out eagerly.
Along the way, sunlight shone on them through the gaps in the leaves, forming spots of light.
Birds sang happily on the branches, as if bidding them farewell. Song Chaoming and Jingyun talked and laughed, feeling particularly happy.
Jingyun was like a happy little bird, skipping and jumping in front, turning back from time to time to share her interesting stories in the village with Song Chaoming.
Song Chaoming listened with a smile, and occasionally talked about his own experiences, which made Jingyun laugh.
However, just as they passed through a dense forest, the atmosphere suddenly became weird.
The originally cheerful bird singing disappeared, and there was silence all around, so quiet that it made people feel a little uneasy.
Suddenly, an eerie wind blew, rustling the leaves.
Song Chaoming had a bad feeling in his heart. He subconsciously tightened the wooden stick in his hand and looked around vigilantly.
Just then, a group of wolf demons rushed out from the woods.
They are huge in size, with dark gray fur, a ferocious green light flashing in their eyes, sharp fangs, saliva dripping from the corners of their mouths, and they make low roars.
Song Chaoming and Jingyun were instantly frightened and turned pale. Jingyun couldn't help but scream and stepped back involuntarily.
Song Chaoming suppressed his fear, protected Jingyun behind him, and said loudly: "Jingyun, don't be afraid, I'm here!"
The wolf demons slowly approached. Song Chaoming gripped the stick tightly, his heart beating rapidly. His brain was working rapidly, thinking about how to deal with it.
Suddenly, a wolf demon pounced on him. Without thinking too much, Song Chaoming raised his stick and swung it hard, hitting the wolf demon.
The wolf demon felt pain and took a few steps back, but soon pounced again.
While Song Chaoming was struggling to resist, he shouted to Jingyun, "Jingyun, run quickly! Go back to the village and call for help!"
Jingyun bit her lip and said, "No, I won't leave you alone!"
But Song Chaoming was firm: "Go! Don't hesitate!"
With tears in her eyes, Jingyun turned and ran towards the village.
Song Chaoming faced the group of wolf monsters alone. His physical strength gradually failed, but he still gritted his teeth and fought hard.
Just when he was about to collapse, a wolf demon took advantage of his unpreparedness and scratched his arm with its claws, causing blood to gush out immediately.
Song Chaoming felt a sharp pain, but he did not retreat, but became more courageous. He knew that he could not fall down, he had to buy time for Jingyun and wait for the arrival of rescue.
At this moment, the villagers of Tu Village, led by Jingyun, hurried over with weapons.
The village chief took the lead, wielding his sword and instantly killing several wolf demons. Other villagers also joined the battle and quickly drove the wolf demons back.
When Song Chaoming saw the villagers coming, the stone in his heart finally fell to the ground, his body softened and he fell down.
"Chao Ming!" Jingyun ran over crying.
The villagers quickly carried Song Chaoming back to the village and bandaged his wounds.
The village chief frowned and said to Song Chaoming with a look of fear: "I told you it was dangerous, but you didn't believe it. You really scared me to death!"
Song Chaoming lay weakly on the hospital bed, his face full of guilt as he said, "I'm sorry, Grandpa Village Chief, I made you worry."
Jingyun, who was standing by, had red eyes and said self-reproachfully, "It's all my fault. If I hadn't disobeyed and insisted on walking out, Song Chaoming wouldn't have been injured."
Tu Qiang looked at them and said softly, "Come on, let's go out and let him have a good rest."
Everyone nodded and tiptoed out of the room, leaving Song Chaoming alone in the quiet room to recuperate.
With everyone's careful care, Song Chaoming's injuries gradually improved.
Song Chaoming now understood that in this world, the strong prey on the weak.
The ferocious attacks of the wolf demons made him realize that in this land, strength is the guarantee of survival. Without sufficient strength, one could become someone else's prey at any time.
He recalled the thrilling moment of fighting with the wolf demon, and secretly vowed in his heart that he must make himself stronger so that he could protect himself and those around him in this dangerous world.
