The wife of two taels of silver

Chapter 108 Little Fox

The only living creatures that could move in the space were the nine of them and a white wolf. When they were eating, everyone was concentrating on eating, and for a while, the only sound was the sound of bowls and chopsticks colliding.

After breakfast, there was not much time left, so the men in the family washed all the dishes, including Gu An.

Lin Haitang held Gu Chen and chatted with Zhao Xiangjun and Liu Wanwan, talking about the dream she had last night: "I dreamed that I found a whole valley of snow cold flowers, and I almost woke up laughing."

Gu Chen held one of Liu Wanwan's fingers tightly. She frowned and said, "Sister, is this master the same person as the great wizard of the Xiongnu?"

Lin Haitang felt a pang in her heart, shook her head, and said softly, "Who knows?"

After leaving the space, the outside world was already bright. The morning sunlight softly sprinkled on the earth. The sunlight scattered to the ground through the branches of the trees, appearing mottled with light and shadow.

The air in the mountains was fresh and the temperature was low, but it was also refreshing. Lin Haitang and Gu An walked forward, taking one step forward and one step back.

After walking for about half an hour, the two heard a faint groan.

Lin Haitang and Gu An looked at each other. Gu An listened carefully, and after determining the direction, he nodded to the right front.

Lin Haitang understood what he meant instantly, and the two of them tiptoed forward to see what was making the noise.

"Chirp...chirp..."

Judging from the sound, it seems that the cub of some animal is injured and is crying out in pain to attract the mother's attention.

The closer they got, the louder the moaning became, and Lin Haitang and Gu An walked more carefully. When they got close, they took a closer look and saw that it was a white fox cub.

It was very small, about the size of Lin Haitang's two hands.

One of the fox cub's front paws was pierced by a branch on the ground. The little guy was trembling all over and bleeding a lot. It must have been quite some time since the blood had frozen into tiny ice chips.

Look at the amount of bleeding and the weather. This little fox cub is really lucky to be alive.

Even so, the little guy still hunched over and blew air at Lin Haitang and Gu An the moment he saw them.

Lin Haitang felt a surge of pity in her heart. She squatted down, carefully touched the fox cub's head, and said softly, "Be good, I'll save you, okay?"

The fox cub initially dodged Lin Haitang's hand violently, but this movement affected its wound, and it instantly lost its strength in pain. It still grinned and pretended to warn Lin Haitang. It was not until Lin Haitang's hand touched its head that it finally believed that Lin Haitang had no ill intentions.

The little fox curled up on the ground, trembling. It stretched its neck as far as it could and cried "Ah...Ah..." twice, with tears in its clear eyes.

Lin Haitang's heart melted. She avoided the little fox's injured leg, picked it up, and said to Gu An, "Gu An, quickly pull out this branch."

Gu An held the branch with one hand and supported the little fox's paw with the other. Seeing Lin Haitang covering the little fox's eyes, he pulled the branch out in an instant.

"Ow!"

The little fox let out a sharp cry, and its body suddenly straightened. Its other three claws tightly grasped Lin Haitang's body, tearing her clothes.

"Be good, bear with it for a while." Lin Haitang patted the little fox's body gently, trying to give it a sense of security. "Gu An, I have a pill in my purse. Take one out."

Gu An reached his hand into Lin Haitang's cloak and touched the purse tied around her waist. After reaching the purse, Gu An did not immediately let go of his hands, but pinched both sides of her waist with both hands.

It’s really a handful.

Gu An pulled his hand out calmly, took out the medicine bottle, poured out the pill, pried open the little fox's mouth and fed it a pill.

When Lin Haitang felt Gu An's little movement, she stared at him, but found that he was not embarrassed at all. He continued to do what he was doing and was not affected by her gaze at all. He even looked back at her.

After taking the medicine, the little fox slowly stopped humming. It collapsed in Lin Haitang's arms and put its little head into Lin Haitang's chest.

Lin Haitang's hand subconsciously touched the little fox's fur. She looked at Gu An, her mouth opening and closing as she uttered, "Why didn't I realize you were so frivolous before?"

Gu An was frank and honest. With a warm smile on his face, he said, "Haitang, I like you, so naturally I want to be close to you."

Now it was Lin Haitang's turn to be speechless. She avoided Gu An's sight, walked forward with the little fox in her arms, and said in a muffled voice, "Put the things in your head aside. Let's talk about everything after this febrile disease is cured."

Gu An caught up with Lin Haitang in one big stride, with a smile that could not be ignored in his voice, and said, "Okay, I'll wait."

After a while, the wound on the little fox's leg was completely healed. It felt that its leg was no longer painful, so it stretched out its head, climbed up with its two front paws, stood up with its hind legs on Lin Haitang's arms, and licked Lin Haitang's face with its tongue.

Lin Haitang tilted her head back to avoid the little fox's tongue, to prevent it from licking her mouth, and said with a smile, "Okay, okay, little darling."

The little fox let out an "ow", stared at Lin Haitang, and smiled at her with his mouth open and eyes narrowed.

Lin Haitang laughed out loud at its cute behavior. She rubbed the little guy's head with one hand and said, "I wish you were a divine beast. Then you could take us to find the snow-freezing flowers."

The little guy probably didn't understand what Lin Haitang was saying, and he tilted his head in Lin Haitang's arms.

Lin Haitang and Gu An walked in the mountains for more than two hours. Lin Haitang's mouth was dry and her legs felt like they were filled with lead.

Lin Haitang looked at Gu An and found that he was not even breathing hard. Lin Haitang looked incredulous and asked, "Don't you know how tired you are?"

Gu An shook his head. He found a clean stone, spread his cloak on it, and asked Lin Haitang to sit on it. He said, "I'm tired too, but I'm a martial artist, so I subconsciously adjust my breathing and have better physical strength."

The stone is large enough for two adults to sit on.

Lin Haitang bent down and tapped his calf, sighed, and said, "Alas, I still haven't seen a single snow-cold flower."

Gu An's big hands covered Lin Haitang's legs and massaged them with moderate strength. Lin Haitang hummed in comfort.

Lin Haitang leaned against Gu An and felt very comfortable. She rubbed her head against Gu An's shoulder.

The movements are very similar to those of a little fox.

Lin Haitang lifted the little fox's head and said in a long voice, "My dear, do you know where the snow-cold flowers are? They are the ones with pink edges and lavender in the middle."

The little fox stood on the legs of two people, one paw on Lin Haitang's leg and the other paw on Gu An's leg. It tilted its little head and twitched its nose, as if thinking about Lin Haitang's words.

Suddenly, the little fox jumped down and started running to the east.

"Little fox!" Lin Haitang stood up suddenly, her eyes full of disbelief. "Do you understand what I said?"

The little fox ran forward three or four meters, then turned around, barked at the two of them twice, dug the ground with its front paws, and started running forward again.

The little fox ran a few steps and then looked back to see if Lin Haitang and Gu An had caught up. Finding that the two were still standing there motionless, it turned around twice, barked a few times louder, then raised one of its front paws and pointed forward.

Lin Haitang and Gu An looked at each other in shock.

Still seeing no one catching up, it ran back, bit the corner of Lin Haitang's clothes, and retreated to the east, motioning Lin Haitang to follow it.

Without hesitation, Lin Haitang and Gu An took steps at the same time.

When the little fox saw the two people taking action, he ran to the front and led the way.
