The Metaphysical Little Beggar's Rebirth: I'm an Unlucky Star
Chapter 68 Temple Search
Director Wei read out the rules of today's game loudly with a loudspeaker, then displayed the program team's logo stickers and distributed maps to everyone with the designated locations marked on them.
Shu Wanwan looked at the address in her hand and found that the next check-in location was not far away. Although she could easily calculate where all the sign stickers were, she felt that this would still lose some of the fun and would be unfair to the other guests. So she decided not to use her own Taoist magic and set off for the check-in location. She walked along the street, admiring the surrounding scenery while searching for her target location.
Soon, she came to a spring. The splashing water attracted many people to stop and watch. Shu Wanwan approached the spring and felt the cool feeling of the water droplets on her face.
Just as she was enjoying the wonderful atmosphere, she suddenly heard someone calling her name. She turned around and saw it was Xia Wei. They had not been assigned to the same group before, so they were not particularly familiar with each other.
"Wanwan, why are you here?" Xia Wei asked in surprise.
"I just found a sign and happened to be passing by here." Xia Wei said with a smile, "I saw you, so I came over to say hello. Did you find the check-in spot?"
Shu Wanwan pointed to a building not far away and said, "It should be there."
"Then let's go together!" Xia Wei suggested.
The two walked side by side towards the building, chatting and laughing along the way. Soon, they arrived at their destination.
Shu Wanwan's check-in location was the only temple in Linjia Village. As they entered the temple, a solemn and dignified atmosphere overwhelmed them. Shu Wanwan and Xia Wei couldn't help but walk lightly, fearing to disturb the gods.
Because it was the only temple in Linjia Village, the temple was quite popular, with believers kneeling and praying devoutly. Shu Wanwan and Xia Wei followed the crowd and walked in.
"Let's look for clues to the mission." Xia Wei broke the silence.
Shu Wanwan nodded, and the two began to search the temple. They carefully observed every detail, not missing any place that might hide clues to the mission.
Suddenly, Shu Wanwan found a piece of paper behind a Buddha statue. She carefully took it down and found it was a clue on a sign. When she unfolded it, it read: "Looking for the missing Buddhist beads."
"It seems that my logo sticker is pasted on the Buddhist beads." Shu Wanwan said.
So they continued to search the temple, and after some effort, they finally found a string of Buddhist beads that smelled of sandalwood in a room.
"Great, mission accomplished!" Xia Wei said excitedly, looking at the Buddhist beads in Shu Wanwan's hand.
Shu Wanwan smiled and nodded, feeling a sense of accomplishment. They then resumed their search of the temple when an old monk walked in. He was wearing a cassock, had a kind face, and held a rosary in his hand. He slowly walked towards Shu Wanwan and Xia Wei.
"Two donors, are you looking for something?" asked the old monk.
Shu Wanwan and Xia Wei looked at each other and told the old monk about their search for the logo stickers.
The old monk smiled and said, "Everything in the world has its own destiny. If you are destined to find this sticker, you will naturally be able to find it. You may as well go deeper, perhaps you will make new discoveries." After that, he turned and left.
After thanking the old monk, Shu Wanwan and Xia Wei continued to explore the temple. Shu Wanwan saw some complicated runes on the temple wall. Shu Wanwan looked at them carefully and found them a little strange.
"Wanwan, come here quickly, there seems to be something?" Shu Wanwan's thoughts were interrupted by Xia Wei's shout.
"Coming." Shu Wanwan agreed softly, then moved her eyes away from the temple wall and walked quickly towards Xia Wei.
Sure enough, in a secluded corner, they found another logo sticker.
"How amazing! He's a highly accomplished monk!" Xia Wei was so happy that she almost jumped up.
Shu Wanwan only smiled faintly, for she already knew that this monk was an NPC arranged by the production team to provide them with clues. After careful observation, she realized that while this old monk possessed merit, he lacked any spiritual power. However, this arrangement by the production team was truly entertaining and added to the atmosphere.
During their long search for the logo stickers, Shu Wanwan and Xia Wei kept their eyes open, searching every corner where they could find them. Their efforts paid off, and they finally found many stickers in various hidden places, like hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.
In the blink of an eye, the competition's allotted time was almost up. The other guests began returning to the gathering point. Shu Wanwan and Xia Wei also returned and handed in their stickers. After counting, Shu Wanwan took first place again, and Xia Wei was second.
Fan Yao came over immediately and said, "Wanwan, you are so awesome. You are always number one every day! Did you secretly figure out where the logo stickers are hidden?" Fan Yao said to Shu Wanwan in a playful manner. If someone else said this, it might be regarded as sarcastic, but Shu Wanwan knew that Fan Yao was not that kind of person.
Shu Wanwan curled the corners of her mouth and shook her head, "Let's go and take a look over there." Then she took Fan Yao's arm and walked towards Hu Haoran and Dong Xiangling.
However, it is worth mentioning that Hu Haoran and Dong Xiangling came back together. Shu Wanwan glanced at the two of them and then showed a meaningful smile.
"We agreed on this, Old Hu, don't go back on your word." Shu Wanwan walked to Hu Haoran and said softly. Hu Haoran's face immediately turned red, and he looked at Shu Wanwan a little embarrassedly.
"Of course, of course." Hu Haoran's face flushed, and he secretly glanced at Dong Xiangling while speaking.
Shu Wanwan smiled sweetly and pulled Fan Yao to have dinner together.
"What's going on, Wanwan, is there any gossip?" Fan Yao followed Shu Wanwan like a little tail, his eyes full of curiosity!
Shu Wanwan whispered what had happened in Fan Yao's ear!
"Huh?!" Fan Yao immediately looked at Hu Haoran with gossipy eyes. She had never thought that Hu Haoran and Dong Xiangling might be together. Now looking at the two of them standing together, they seemed a bit well-matched.
After watching this scene, the commentators couldn't sit still anymore!!
"Why are you still whispering right next to my ear? Is there anything that we, the valued live streaming members, can't hear?!"
"Why do I feel like Sister Shu gets along really well with everyone? The atmosphere is so great when she and Xia Wei are on a mission together. I'm so excited to see them together!"
"Did you see that? Teacher Hu is blushing! Has Teacher Hu finally broken free from her virginity and become a single person?"
"Our brother should find a girlfriend. He's been chaste for 10 years since his debut!!"
"Isn't Hu Haoran's face upstairs his face?!? Hahahaha"
"I still think our Sister Shu and the cute little Fan Yao are the best match."
