The afterglow of the morning sun shines into Mo Yun's room

"Hmm~, it's the second day already. The weather is nice today, it's finally not raining."

Mo Yun stretched out his waist and stretched

"Brother, we have prepared breakfast for you. If you wake up, you can come down and eat directly."

Suddenly, I heard Xiaoke knocking on the door.

"It's getting late, it's time for breakfast."

Mo Yun got up immediately and went to wash up.

"It's been a long time since I came out..."

……

"Brother, brother, come here quickly. Today's breakfast is very rich."

Xiao Ke saw Mo Yun coming downstairs and shouted happily

"Okay, don't worry, I'll be there soon."

Mo Yun happily replied

"That's great! The little girl is so full of energy. I wonder what my lovely Ah Zi will be like. I haven't played with her for the past few months. As her brother, I feel a little remiss!"

Mo Yun was distressed

"Young man, are you in a bad mood? My wife personally cooked for us today and prepared a very sumptuous breakfast. If you have any unpleasant feelings, take a bite and maybe all your troubles will disappear."

Xiaoke's father recommended it to Moyun

"Haha, then I won't be polite. I will definitely try Xiaoke's mother's cooking."

Mo Yun picked up a large piece of fish and stuffed it into his mouth

"Wow, it's delicious. Is this sweet and sour?"

Mo Yun's eyes turned into stars

"Yes, yes, our whole family likes sweet and sour dishes. Although the taste is always the same, my wife is very varied in her preparations. So we never get tired of it."

Xiaoke's father said happily

"Sir, the dishes I made seem to suit your taste. But don't worry, I prepared a lot today. Eat slowly. Don't choke!"

Xiaoke's mother came out and saw Mo Yun eating voraciously and said.

"It's okay, it's okay, this is delicious. I've been wandering around inns for over a month and haven't come across many. It's so hard, eating those wild fruits every day. I'm about to vomit. It's rare to come across such delicious food, I must work hard!"

“Hmm~Hmm”

Mo Yun suddenly covered her throat

"Could you please get me some water? I feel like I'm choking. It's so uncomfortable."

Mo Yun gently stroked her body to make herself feel more comfortable

"Okay, don't worry, sir, I'll get you some water right away."

When Xiaoke's mother saw him like this, she immediately went to get water.

"Gudu Gudu"

Mo Yun immediately drank a lot of water

"Oh, it's okay. I finally recovered. Luckily, this is just an ordinary one. If it had been stuck in Yuci, I would have been finished."

"Haha, brother, you are so reckless. You must chew your food slowly and thoroughly, okay? Don't be like a starving ghost."

Xiaoke looks like an old man.

"Uh, sorry, sorry, I can't help it. It's so delicious. I'm so hungry."

Mo Yun touched the back of his head and said embarrassedly

"Okay, Xiaoke, don't talk like that. Have you forgotten what we taught you? You must be polite when you speak."

Xiaoke's mother suddenly said

"I'm sorry, brother, I didn't mean it."

Xiao Ke said to me with an apologetic look on his face

"It's okay, it's okay, don't take it to heart, it's my own fault."

Mo Yun finished speaking and continued eating.

There is laughter all around the dinner table, maybe it’s time to go home. After all, having a meal with family is the happiest thing, isn’t it?

……

After dinner, I went upstairs

"Oh, this sweet and sour dish is so delicious. That thing they're eating, the vinegar fish, really makes me sick."

Mo Yun said with a look of fear

"It was rare for me to travel back then, so that's about it. If I were to do it again, I definitely wouldn't eat that dish."

"I remember it was like this..."

(Unending dream...)

An unexpected journey for your taste buds by the West Lake

In that vibrant springtime, my girlfriend and I decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and head to the historic city of Hangzhou, seeking a glimpse of tranquility and beauty. Our itinerary naturally included sampling local delicacies, and West Lake Vinegar Fish, a hallmark of Hangzhou, naturally became a key destination.

In the early morning, sunlight filtered through the curtains, gently waking us from our slumber. After a quick packing, we set off for West Lake. Along the way, my girlfriend excitedly planned our itinerary, from the Broken Bridge in the Snow to the Leifeng Pagoda at Sunset, from the Su Causeway in Spring Dawn to the Winding Courtyard with Lotuses, each attraction filled with anticipation. I, on the other hand, was even more excited about my first encounter with West Lake Vinegar Fish.

Upon arriving in Hangzhou, we strolled along West Lake, feeling the gentle breeze on our cheeks. The water shimmered, and the mountains in the distance stretched out like a moving painting. As we ventured deeper into the city, we became increasingly captivated by its charm and excited for the upcoming culinary adventure.

For lunch, we followed our travel guide and chose a well-known local restaurant. The restaurant's antique charm, with wooden tables and chairs, exquisite tableware, and paintings of West Lake on the walls, evoked a rich cultural atmosphere. We found a window seat and admired the view while we waited for our meal.

Soon, the waiter brought us our long-awaited West Lake Vinegar Fish. The fish, golden brown, was smothered in a bright red sweet and sour sauce, garnished with emerald green scallions and ginger. The color was enticing and the aroma was fragrant. I was secretly delighted, anticipating a wonderful feast for my taste buds. However, as I eagerly picked up a piece of fish and put it in my mouth, my expression froze.

The fish, which should have been tender and delicious, had become dry and tasteless from overcooking. The sweet and sour sauce, which should have had the right balance of sweet and sour, was overly sweet, masking the fish's inherent flavor. I tried to take another bite, but only felt a wave of nausea, and I eventually vomited. At that moment, I couldn't believe my taste buds had been subjected to such a treatment.

Seeing this, my girlfriend quickly handed me a glass of water and asked about my condition with concern. I shook my head and forced a wry smile, feeling a sense of loss and helplessness. I had hoped to create wonderful memories on this trip, but this dish of West Lake vinegar fish completely ruined it. I even wondered if my expectations of food were too high, and I couldn't handle such a disappointment.

However, my girlfriend's comfort and care gradually helped me recover from my loss. She told me that everyone has different tastes, and their perception of food varies. Perhaps the West Lake Vinegar Fish at this restaurant wasn't to our liking, but that didn't mean all West Lake Vinegar Fish was the same. She suggested we try another restaurant's West Lake Vinegar Fish, perhaps for a different experience.

So, with a touch of reluctance and anticipation, we continued our Hangzhou trip. Over the following days, we visited numerous restaurants and sampled a wide variety of Hangzhou cuisine. While some dishes weren't entirely satisfactory, we were more than happy to experience the unique charm and cultural heritage of Hangzhou cuisine. Our disappointment with the West Lake Vinegar Fish was gradually offset by the delights of other delicious dishes.

Looking back now, while that trip to Hangzhou had its share of hiccups, it was these experiences that made us cherish each other's company and the time we spent together even more. And that West Lake vinegar fish that made us vomit has become a topic of conversation and laughter after dinner. Perhaps one day in the future, we'll return to Hangzhou and rediscover our own unique taste memories.

"It's scary to say the least. I hope I don't have to suffer here in the future."

Mo Yun was even more scared after she finished recalling

"Forget it, I won't think about it anymore. I'll go see if there are any new dishes here tomorrow. Maybe I can innovate and make something better to bring back to Ah Zi so she can enjoy it."
