The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 92 Discovering the Ruins Core
Discover the Ruins Core
As he fiercely battled the all-consuming destructive force, Carl's every nerve was strained like a bowstring stretched to its limit. He concentrated intently on handling wave after wave of surging energy, his eyes gleaming with determination and resolve. The destructive force was like a tsunami of doom, each wave carrying a tremendous energy capable of crushing everything. Wherever it passed, the very space vibrated and hummed, as if groaning in pain. The air around him was like ignited gunpowder, blazing and violent, radiating tiny flashes of electricity that flickered constantly around Carl, threatening every inch of his being.
The elf flitted nervously around him, its tiny wings flapping as quickly as a hummingbird's. Its large, usually lively eyes were now filled with worry, constantly monitoring its surroundings. Like a leaf drifting in this chaotic energy storm, it was mercilessly tossed by the raging wind, yet it stubbornly clung to Carl's side.
"Karl, why is this destructive force like an endless flood? When will it end?" the elf shouted anxiously, his voice sounding a little sharp in the roaring flow of energy, like a cry for help barely heard amid the surging waves.
"Don't panic, elf! I think we're almost at the source," Carl shouted back, brandishing his ice and fire sword. Beads of sweat covered his forehead, trickling down his cheeks. His clothes were soaked with sweat from the intense battle, but his eyes remained sharp as an eagle's. Each swing of the ice and fire sword temporarily split the demonic destructive force, only for it to quickly close again, as tenacious as if possessing life itself.
Just as Carl used the power of ice and fire to dispel another wave of destructive force, he suddenly discovered a shocking secret. Amidst the chaotic energy fluctuations, like a doomsday storm, he vaguely sensed that these destructive forces seemed to be coming from the same direction. Looking in that direction, he saw the core area of the ruins, where a huge energy crystal lay.
This energy crystal resembled a demon-cursed heart, emitting an eerie and powerful light. Its entire body was a deep purple, and countless intricate lines flickered on its surface. These lines resembled ancient runes or the veins of some mysterious creature, flowing with terrifying energy. Each line was like a surging river of energy, containing enough power to destroy a small city. These energy rivers intertwined and collided, emitting a low roar that sounded like a roar from the depths of hell.
The space surrounding the crystal was distorted by its immense force. Light curved near it, as if the entire world were twisting and distorting around it. Space resembled a piece of dough being haphazardly kneaded, forming strange wrinkles and vortices. Surrounding objects were also affected by this force. Small rocks were drawn toward the crystal, stretched as they approached, then shattered like fragile glass, disintegrating into dust that drifted through the distorted space.
The energy waves emanating from the energy crystal spread outward like a surging tide, possessing a powerful impact and destructive force. They impacted the walls of the ruins, causing the ancient masonry to peel away under the force, as if eroded by the merciless passage of time. The moment they fell, the energy wave reduced the masonry to dust, and before the dust had time to dissipate, it was swept away by the next wave of energy.
This energy surge also affected the magic circles within the ruins. Previously stable, they began to flicker under the onslaught of energy. Some, like awakened beasts, unleashed chaotic magical forces, intertwining with the fluctuations of the energy crystals and plunging the ruins into even greater peril. The mysterious objects previously stored within some of the magic circles were also affected by this force. Some began to tremble violently, as if trying to break free; others simply exploded under the onslaught of energy, the released energy further exacerbating the chaos within the ruins.
"Elf, look! I've found the source of the destructive power. It's that big crystal." Carl excitedly pointed in the direction of the energy crystal and shouted to the elf. There was a hint of excitement in his voice, as if he had finally seen a glimmer of light after groping in the dark for a long time.
"Wow! Is that the culprit? It looks like a supervillain, even scarier than the great devil in the dark forest!" The elf's eyes widened, and it spun rapidly in the air several times, trying to get a clearer view of the energy crystal. Its eyes held a mixture of fear at this enormous threat and a hint of curiosity, like the complex emotions of a child facing an unknown, mysterious monster.
"That's right. It's controlling the entire ruins' defenses and counterattacks. If we want to completely resolve this crisis, we must destroy this energy crystal." Carl frowned and spoke seriously. He knew it would be an extremely difficult task. The power contained in this energy crystal was too great. To destroy it would undoubtedly be a dance with death. The energy crystal was like a volcano ready to erupt at any moment. If they made the slightest mistake, they would be completely engulfed by its erupting energy.
"Then what should we do? It doesn't look easy to deal with, like a hedgehog covered in thorns. Where should we start?" The elf looked at Carl worriedly, flew to his shoulder, and scratched his hair with its little claws. Its little claws moved restlessly in Carl's hair, showing its inner tension.
Carl pondered for a moment, then said, "We have to get close to it first to see if there are any weaknesses. But there must be a lot of mechanisms and protective forces along the way, so we have to be careful." His eyes were fixed on the energy crystal, and he was already thinking about how to deal with it in his mind, just like an experienced general thinking about how to defeat the enemy when facing a powerful enemy.
"Hmph, no matter what traps there are, we're not afraid! We've defeated so many difficult super teams before." The elf waved his fists in the air, making a cheering gesture, trying to cheer himself and Carl up. His fists waved in the air with great vigor, and his adorable appearance brought a touch of lightness to the tense atmosphere.
Carl smiled faintly, feeling the elf's encouragement. "Alright, let's go. Elf, follow me closely. If there's any danger, hide behind me." With that, Carl cautiously walked toward the energy crystal. His steps were firm and cautious, each one like walking through a minefield, always prepared for any possible danger.
As they advanced along the passageway leading to the core area, mysterious lights flickered from the surrounding walls, as if warning them not to approach. These lights, like piercing eyes, coldly observed their every move. The ground was also unstable, with small energy pulses emanating from the ground, like a hidden monster playing mischief. While each of these energy pulses was insignificant, they were numerous and erratic. As they impacted the walls, they left dark, scorched marks, like demonic eyes in the darkness.
"Oh, these little pulses are like naughty elves playing tricks on us! But they're much cuter than me." The elf was hit by an energy pulse and somersaulted in the air, mumbling. There was a hint of dissatisfaction in its tone, like a little star whose limelight had been stolen.
"Haha, you, be careful. These small pulses may not seem harmful right now, but they might be a warning." Carl warned the elf with a smile, while observing his surroundings vigilantly. He knew that in this dangerous core area of the ruins, any slight negligence could lead to fatal consequences.
As they approached the energy crystal, the surrounding protective force grew stronger. Suddenly, a group of phantom warriors composed of energy emerged from the wall, wielding glowing weapons, their eyes hollow yet filled with murderous intent, as they charged towards Carl and the elf. These phantom warriors radiated energy fluctuations similar to those of the energy crystal, as if they were minions of the energy crystal, sent to stop their advance.
"Wow, where did these guys come from? They don't look like they're here to welcome us," the elf exclaimed, quickly flying over Carl's head. Its voice became a little shrill because of its nervousness, and its small body trembled slightly above Carl's head like a frightened bird.
"Prepare for battle, elf!" Carl shouted, the ice and fire sword in his hand glowing brighter. He charged at the phantom warriors, ice and fire flowing through the sword, each swing slicing through a phantom warrior. But the phantom warriors were so numerous, it seemed impossible to slay them all. Whenever the ice and fire struck a phantom warrior, a powerful energy surge erupted, shaking the surrounding space slightly, as if in response to the fierce battle.
"Karl, there are so many of them, like a swarm of buzzing flies, so annoying!" the elf complained as it cast a spell against the phantom warriors. It unleashed beams of magical light, which briefly paused upon striking the phantom warriors. These beams traced beautiful arcs across the ruins, like shooting stars in the night sky, but they delivered a devastating blow to the enemy. The elf's face was grave, knowing this was no time for jokes. Despite its complaints, its movements didn't slow at all.
"Don't be distracted, elf! We need to break through them quickly," Carl shouted, his movements becoming even more swift, like a cheetah in the wind. He weaved freely among the phantom warriors, dispersing wherever his ice and fire sword struck. With the elf's coordination, he and the elf gradually broke through the phantom warriors' encirclement and continued their advance towards the energy crystal.
When they were only a few steps away from the energy crystal, another powerful barrier appeared before them. This barrier seemed composed of pure energy, its surface shimmering with a multicolored light. Within this light was a powerful restraining force, preventing them from approaching any further. This barrier was like an invisible wall, separating them from the energy crystal and simultaneously presenting them with a formidable challenge.
"What the hell is this? Why are there so many obstacles?" the elf said angrily. It flew to the barrier and punched it with its tiny fist, only to be bounced back. It somersaulted several times in the air before stabilizing itself, its face full of anger and grievance, like a child whose toy had been taken away.
"This must be the last line of defense protecting the energy crystal. We have to find a way to break it." Carl frowned, observing the barrier carefully. He reached out, attempting to touch the barrier, sensing the energy fluctuations within. As his hand touched the barrier, a powerful electric current coursed through his body, and he quickly retracted his hand. The current was like countless steel needles, pricking every nerve in his arm, leaving it numb in an instant.
"Ouch, this thing can shock people!" Carl shook his numbed hand and said with a wry smile. His brow furrowed slightly in pain, but his eyes were still full of determination, and he showed no sign of retreating.
"Carl, are you okay? We have to be careful and not let it defeat us." The elf flew over to Carl and asked with concern. Its little eyes were full of worry, and it gently patted Carl's cheek with its wings, that action full of warmth and care.
"I'm fine. Let's keep searching. There must be a way to break through this barrier," Carl reassured the elf. He began to walk along the edge of the barrier, searching for a possible flaw. After careful observation, he discovered a faint fluctuation in the barrier's energy in a certain corner, like a ripple on a calm lake. This discovery filled him with joy, like finding a lighthouse in the vast ocean.
"Elf, look there! This corner might be the weak point of the barrier. Let's try from here." Carl pointed to the corner and said to the elf. There was a hint of excitement in his voice and a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"Alright, let's go!" the elf shouted excitedly, flying onto Carl's shoulder, ready to break through the barrier with Carl. Its small body trembled slightly, both out of nervousness and full of anticipation for the upcoming challenge.
Carl concentrated his strength, channeling the power of ice and fire into the tip of his sword, and stabbed it at the weak point in the barrier. The elf also cast his magic, infusing his own power into Carl's attack. With their combined efforts, cracks began to appear in the barrier, and a strong light emanated from the cracks. With a loud bang, the barrier was finally broken, and they successfully reached the energy crystal.
"We did it, elf! Now, we need to find a way to destroy this big trouble." Carl looked at the energy crystal in front of him, his eyes gleaming with determination. His eyes were filled with a desire for victory. Although the energy crystal in front of him was extremely powerful, he did not fear it at all.
"Come on, Carl! We can do this!" Little elves fluttered around Carl, cheering him on. They stood before the energy crystal at the heart of the ruins, a fateful battle about to begin. It was like the ultimate showdown. They would engage in a desperate battle against the energy crystal that represented the core power of the ruins. The fate of the entire ruins, and indeed their own fate, would be decided in this battle.
