The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm

Chapter 72 The Challenge of the Divine Realm (1)

Challenge of the Divine Realm (I)

Carl treaded cautiously through this dreamlike yet deeply enigmatic divine realm, like an adventurer exploring a mysterious maze. The divine realm's dazzling array of light and wondrous scenery still dazzled him, but now he had no time to admire them. The air around him seemed to stir faintly, and a sense of foreboding welled up within him.

"Hey, look at that guy, the aura around him is so strange, he doesn't seem to be from here." A divine creature with wings and a faint blue light all over its body lowered its body, slightly folded its wings, and its eyes flashed with vigilance and hostility, like two small blue flames burning faintly in the darkness, and whispered to its companions.

"Who cares? Outsiders are no good. Let's teach them a lesson!" Another divine creature, resembling a lizard, covered in hard scales adorned with mysterious runes, responded. It crouched on all fours, its thick leg muscles tense like a spring poised for action. Its tail twitched restlessly behind it, its scales rustling with each swish. As it spoke, it stuck out its long tongue in Carl's direction, its tongue flickering with eerie electric sparks like a leaping imp.

Carl soon became aware of these malicious gazes. Before he could react, a group of low-level divine creatures swarmed towards him, their attacks rushing towards Carl like a surging tide.

"Wow, so welcoming! But I don't like this kind of welcome!" Carl shouted, quickly dodging a sudden attack from a divine creature. The creature was shaped like a cheetah, its limbs stomping the ground vigorously as it ran, kicking up a small cloud of dust with every step. Its muscles rippled beneath its fur, demonstrating astonishing explosive power. Its speed was so fast that it whistled in the wind and almost grazed Carl's arm. Its sharp claws gleamed coldly in the sunlight, like the scythe of the Grim Reaper.

Carl steadied himself and began to cast magic. He first cast a defensive spell commonly used in the Fantasy Land: "Spirit Shield." This spell could easily withstand many attacks in the Fantasy Land, but here, the attacks from the divine creatures hit the shield, causing it to shake violently and flicker.

"Hey, you guys are pretty impressive! Looks like we need to show some real skill." Carl frowned slightly, but there was no fear in his eyes. He mobilized his newly acquired divine power, waving his hands swiftly, muttering something to himself. Suddenly, a golden glow appeared on the shield, the effect of the divine power's blessing.

"Hmph, thinking you can stop us with that little trick? No way!" The cheetah-like creature charged again, its body leaning forward, almost parallel to the ground, its eyes fixed on Carl with bloodthirsty fervor. Its speed was even faster than before, and black smoke clung to its claws. The smoke seemed to have life, spreading towards Carl's shield like countless small black snakes twisting and slithering.

"Oh, how long have you washed those black claws? They smell terrible!" Carl teased. As he spoke, he concentrated divine power in his hands, transforming it into a white blade of light, and slashed at the cheetah creature. The blade collided with the cheetah creature's claws, making a sharp friction sound and splashing a brilliant shower of sparks. The cheetah creature was knocked back by the impact of the blade, sliding a distance, leaving several deep claw marks on the ground, and the dust flew up. It shook its head, seeming dizzy, but quickly regained its footing, and with a low growl in its throat, it prepared to attack again.

At this moment, the other divine creatures also launched their attacks. The winged blue creature circled in the air, its wings flapping vigorously, each beat creating a gust of blue light. It opened its mouth and released streams of blue light, like cold arrows, towards Carl. As it released the light, its neck stretched forward, its head tilted slightly, as if adjusting the angle of attack to ensure each beam struck its target accurately. The lizard-like divine creature attacked from the ground, its tail swishing violently, its entire body spinning with the force. Its scales bristled as its tail swung, rubbing against the air with a crackling sound. The sand and gravel it launched, enhanced by magic, became as hard as cannonballs and whizzed towards Carl. The sand and gravel collided with each other in flight, sending sparks flying.

"Everyone, attack! Take down this outsider!" A figure resembling the leader of a divine creature commanded from the rear. Its body was enormous, like a bull magnified countless times, its horns gleaming with a red glow. Every stomp of its foot caused the ground to tremble violently, sending dust flying like a startled rabbit. Hot air belched from its nostrils, forming a white mist in the air like the smokestack of a steam locomotive. Its eyes, wide as bells, were filled with majesty and rage as it stared intently at Carl, as if it could see through him.

"You think I'm afraid of numbers? Try it!" Carl shouted, his figure nimbly weaving through the numerous attacks. Facing the blue creature's light attack, he used "Illusion Tracking," instantly transforming into several phantoms. These phantoms moved in various ways: some ran forward, some leaped backward, and some rolled sideways. The light passed through the phantoms without causing any real damage. Carl, however, deflected the sand and gravel projectiles with "Wind Barrier." A powerful air current surged from his body, swirling like a giant, transparent dragon. The air blew the sand and gravel everywhere, some of which rebounded and struck several divine creatures. Some of the creatures were knocked to the ground, screaming in pain and writhing in agony. Others shielded their heads with their arms or wings, attempting to block the sand and gravel attack, their bodies trembling slightly.

"Oh, how do your own shells taste? It must be unpleasant!" Carl shouted with a smile, his laughter echoing in the battle, making these divine creatures even more angry.

During the battle, Carl discovered that these divine beings were indeed even more powerful. Their attacks and defenses possessed unique magical properties. Each attack was more than a simple forceful assault, imbued with mysterious magical power. For example, the blue light not only possessed sharp penetrating power but also possessed a freezing effect. Once struck, the body could be instantly frozen, and the frozen area would quickly be covered in a layer of blue ice crystals, which continued to spread, as if transforming the entire body into an ice sculpture. Meanwhile, the sand and stone shells, in addition to their powerful impact, also possessed a corrosive magic. If struck, the magic shield would be rapidly corroded, leaving black spots on the shield, as if stained by ink. The spots would gradually expand, weakening the shield's defensive power.

"This guy's a tough one! We need to change our tactics!" the leader of the divine creatures roared. Its massive body began to glow red, and the air around it grew blazing, as if on fire. Its muscles bulged, and its veins bulged beneath its skin like thick tree roots. It lowered its head, pointed its horns at Kal, and pawed the ground with its hooves, kicking up clouds of dust. Each plowing left a deep furrow in the earth. A deafening roar erupted from its mouth, echoing across the battlefield like thunder. Hearing the command, the other divine creatures quickly adjusted their positions, preparing for a new and even more fierce attack.

Carl also felt the growing pressure, but he had no intention of retreating. He recalled the days he had fought alongside his companions in the Fantasy Land; those experiences had given him courage and wisdom. He took a deep breath, channeled his divine power to its full potential, and prepared to face the new challenge.

"Come on, little monsters! Let's see who is stronger, you or me, an outsider!" There was a determined light in Carl's eyes. He was like an unshakable lighthouse, emitting his own light in this violent attack, waiting for the next round of battle.

Just as the two sides prepared to clash again, a strange sound suddenly erupted from the sky, like the roar of some gigantic creature. The sound startled all the fighting creatures, briefly interrupting the rhythm of the battle. But soon, the divine creatures regained their composure, and their attacks intensified, as if they were determined to eliminate Carl before this unforeseen event occurred. Carl clenched his fists, ready to give his all. He knew the battle had entered its most crucial moment.
