The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 53: Searching for Materials (2)
Finding Materials (II)
In this frigid place, seemingly at the end of the world, Carl and his teammates, after enduring storms and icy peaks, finally caught sight of the dreamlike traces of the Ice Flower. The crystal-clear figure loomed in the distance, emitting a captivating and mysterious glow, like stars in the darkness, instantly igniting the flames of hope in the weary eyes of the group.
However, before they could even celebrate their discovery, a powerful surge of magical energy surged from the direction of the ice crystal flower. Along with a howling icy wind, a massive ice elemental spirit emerged. Its form towered like a mountain, its entire body composed of crystalline ice, as if sculpted by the God of Ice and Snow himself. Its sapphire-like eyes burned with hostility toward the intruder, and every inch of its body radiated a biting coldness and majesty.
"Wow, this thing is so big! It's like a moving iceberg." Tom's eyes widened and his mouth opened so wide that a snowball could fit in it. His face, which was originally red from the cold, became even paler because of nervousness.
"Don't be dazed, Tom. It's not something you can easily deal with." Lucy gripped her wand tightly, her eyes fixed on the ice elf, ready for battle. Her voice trembled slightly, but the determination in her eyes never wavered.
The ice elf gave them no chance to breathe. It swung its massive arms violently and let out a deep roar. The sound was like thunder on the icy plain, shaking the surrounding ice and snow. In an instant, countless sharp ice cones rained down on Carl and the others. These ice cones gleamed coldly in the sunlight, like the scythes of the Grim Reaper, moving at such a speed that it was hard to keep up.
"Everyone, be careful!" Carl shouted, waving his wand rapidly and muttering a complex spell. A golden curtain of light rose before them. Ice spikes struck the curtain like flying arrows, crackling and sending up shimmering icy shards. Each impact caused the curtain to tremble violently. Beads of sweat streamed down Carl's forehead. He gritted his teeth, struggling to keep the curtain steady.
"Jerry, we need to fight back and use wind magic to disrupt its attack!" Carl shouted at Jerry.
"Roger that! Look at my super tornado!" Jerry raised his wand high and spun it rapidly, chanting a spell. As he did so, a powerful cyan whirlwind formed around them, rapidly expanding and sweeping towards the ice elf. Wherever the whirlwind passed, ice and snow were swept into the air, forming a massive white tornado that looked truly spectacular.
"Haha, let's see how your big ice block can withstand my whirlwind." Jerry shouted excitedly, with a confident smile on his face.
However, the ice elemental spirit simply waved its arm, and a massive ice wall rose from the ground, blocking the whirlwind's path. The whirlwind crashed into the ice wall, emitting a deafening roar, but the ice wall remained motionless, only a few tiny cracks appeared on its surface.
"This guy is so strong!" Jerry exclaimed in surprise, his smile disappeared instantly, replaced by a serious look.
"We have to find a way to communicate with it. It may just be protecting the ice flower and doesn't want to be our enemy." Carl said with a frown, trying to find a hint of understanding in the eyes of the ice elemental elf.
"Communicate? With this big ice cube? Do you think it can understand what we are saying?" Tom looked at Carl with suspicion.
"No matter what, we have to try." Carl took a deep breath and shouted to the ice elemental elf: "We have no ill intentions, we just need the ice crystal flower to complete an important mission and save our world." His voice echoed in the empty ice field, but the ice elemental elf seemed to have no reaction at all. It attacked again, this time with a huge ice ball, flying towards them like a cannonball.
"It seems it doesn't understand us, or it simply doesn't want to listen," Lucy said helplessly. She quickly cast frost magic, creating a thick ice shield around them, trying to resist the ice ball's attack. The ice shield collided with the ice ball with a loud crash, and cracks appeared in the ice shield, but fortunately, they temporarily blocked this wave of attacks.
"We can't just sit there and take the beating. We have to find a way." Carl looked at his teammates, his eyes filled with anxiety.
"Maybe we can try to use magic to connect with its consciousness and directly convey our thoughts." Teacher Ivan suggested from the side. He is one of the teachers with the most extensive knowledge of magic theory in the academy.
"This is too dangerous, teacher. If the connection fails, we might be attacked by its consciousness." Carl said with some concern.
"But this may be our only way." Teacher Ivan looked at Karl with a firm look in his eyes. "I'll try. You cover me."
With that, Teacher Ivan began to cast a complex spell. The tip of his wand emanated a soft light that gradually extended and spread in the direction of the ice elf. The other team members cast spells one after another, resisting the ice elf's continuous attacks and buying time for Teacher Ivan.
"Come on, everyone! I hope this works," Lucy shouted, waving her wand faster, sending streams of frost magic towards the ice elemental spirit, trying to distract it.
Tom and Jerry were not to be outdone. Tom cast fire magic. Although the power of the fire was limited in the icy and snowy surroundings, it still caused some interference to the ice elemental spirit. Jerry continued to manipulate wind magic, making the surrounding wind and snow more violent, hindering the ice elemental spirit's movement.
With everyone's efforts, Teacher Ivan's magic gradually approached the Ice Elemental Spirit. However, just as the connection was about to succeed, the Ice Elemental Spirit seemed to sense danger and suddenly launched an even more powerful attack. A massive wave of ice surged from its feet, sweeping towards everyone. The momentum was like a tsunami of doom, as if it would submerge everything under a blanket of ice and snow.
"Oh no! Everyone, get out of the way!" Carl yelled. He quickly cast a teleportation spell and teleported several of his teammates to a safe place. However, some of the team members were still hit by the ice wave and frozen in the ice. The situation was extremely critical.
"We have to save them!" Lucy shouted anxiously, rushing towards her frozen teammates desperately.
Carl looked at the Ice Elemental Spirit, feeling helpless and angry. They had only been searching for materials to save the world, yet they had encountered such a powerful enemy. But he knew they couldn't give up now. They had to find a way to defeat the Ice Elemental Spirit and obtain the Ice Crystal Flower.
"Don't panic, everyone! Let's attack its weaknesses together. We're sure there's a way," Carl shouted to his teammates. He raised his wand again, his eyes rekindled with fighting spirit. The battle against the Ice Elemental Spirit had reached a critical juncture. Could they overcome their difficulties and obtain the Ice Crystal Flower? Everything remained uncertain.
