The time of the city

Chapter 51: Dead or Alone

"Hecheng, are you in there?" Mo Yu's voice came from outside the door accompanied by a knock.

"How dare you lie to me, you little brat." Xiao Yuan glared at Xiao Hecheng fiercely, then went to open the door barefoot.

When Mo Yu was about to knock on the door for the second time, the door opened.

"Hecheng, what's wrong with you? Who are you?" Mo Yu looked up and was shocked to find that the person who opened the door was not Xiao Hecheng, because the man in front of her did not look like a good person at all.

Xiao Yuan looked at Mo Yu from head to toe. He could tell she was from a wealthy family, so he spoke more gently, "I'm Xiao Hecheng's father."

"It's my uncle. Is Hecheng at home? I have an appointment with him." Mo Yu took a closer look and found that the man in front of her was similar to Xiao Hecheng, but the temperament he exuded was completely different. The man in front of her exuded a vulgarity that made people feel disgusted.

"He's not home." Xiao Yuan subconsciously stood in the middle of the door, blocking Mo Yu's line of sight. Xiao Hecheng listened to the noise outside the house with concern, and was relieved to see that Xiao Yuan did not hurt Mo Yu's feelings.

"But He Cheng sent me a message this morning. Where did he go?"

"He went to work, girl, go back." Xiao Yuan waved to Mo Yu and then prepared to close the door.

"Let me in." Mo Yu reached in as the door was about to close. The pain from her arm being pinched by the door made her frown. "I want to go in."

In the moment when Xiao Yuan was stunned, Mo Yu took the opportunity to push open the door. Due to inertia, Xiao Yuan staggered and almost fell.

"Who let you in, you damn kid?" Xiao Yuan cursed after he stood firm.

"Hecheng..." Mo Yu burst into tears the moment she saw Xiao Hecheng. She covered her face with her hands and squatted down, sobbing. Then she realized something and ran to Xiao Hecheng again, "Hecheng, what's wrong with you? I'll take you to the hospital."

"Little girl, I'm telling you, don't meddle in other people's business. Just pretend you didn't see anything. Go back to where you came from, and I won't bother you." Xiao Yuan was not afraid, because he thought the girl in front of him posed no threat to him at all, and he could even act like a living Bodhisattva and spare her life.

"Do you believe I'll sue you?"

"Xiao Yu, I'm fine, let's go back." Xiao Hecheng endured the pain and sat up from the ground. He could feel that several bones were broken, but in order not to let Mo Yu worry, he tried to put on a smile.

Hearing Xiao Hecheng call this girl Xiaoyu, Xiao Yuan's heart trembled. Isn't this someone from K's friend? He must not touch her, or else he would die without knowing how.

"Little girl, your name is Mo Yu, right? You've been deceived by this brat. It's all my fault for not teaching you well," Xiao Yu pretended to be ashamed and continued, "The farther you stay away from him, the better. This brat has been unfilial since childhood, abandoning his own father, and now he's trying to deceive you. I really can't stand it. Don't worry, little girl, I'll take him away."

Xiao Yuan rattled off a long list of stories, but Mo Yu didn't believe a single one. She only believed what she saw. "Uncle, let me take He Cheng to see a doctor first. I believe a good father wouldn't hurt his son. Don't let yourself get carried away."

Mo Yu put Xiao Hecheng's hand on her shoulder and was about to drag him up. Seeing this, Xiao Yuan stepped forward and pushed him. Xiao Hecheng instantly knelt on the ground. His forehead was covered with sweat due to the pain and his face was pale.

"What are you doing? Don't you see that Hecheng is almost dead?" Mo Yu glared at Xiao Yuan fiercely, like a ferocious little wolf.

"He's my son. I can do whatever I want with him. If he dies, he dies. What's it to you? I'll beat him to death right now, and you can't do anything to me."

After hearing this, Xiao Hecheng's eyes dimmed completely. Was this his father? He had lived in this world for twenty years, and he had never felt as desperate as he did now. He even began to ponder the meaning of his own life.

"Xiaoyu, I'm fine. Go away. You can't save me." Xiao Hecheng smiled and waved his hands. There were tears in his eyes, but he stubbornly refused to let them fall.

"Did you hear that? Xiao Hecheng asked you to leave. Why are you still staying here? Don't get in the way. I won't be able to explain to K later."

"K? K asked you to come? He asked you to hurt Hecheng?" Mo Yu's tears burst out again.

"Since I've let it slip, I might as well tell you. K said you're his friend, Jiamu, I forgot..."

"Stop talking. I'm warning you. Leave now. You know how powerful the person behind you is. If you don't leave, I'll go back and tell him that you hurt me." Mo Yu stretched out her arm. The place where the door had pinched her arm was swollen, with red and purple patches on it, which looked very scary.

"You're so cruel. I'll just leave. Don't tell K." Xiao Yuan put on his leather shoes, glanced at Xiao Hecheng, and then left the house.
