The time of the city

Chapter 3 Would You Come Home with Me?

After Nan Feng left, Mo Yu returned to her old self, not liking to talk or laugh. She just squatted in a small corner and painted, squatting there all day long, painting all day long.

She had only received one letter from Nan Feng. Nan Feng said he missed her very much, that his grandfather had been very good to him, and that he would listen to his grandfather's words and study hard, and would come to see her soon. He asked her to wait for him...

It was another open house for adoptions, and the children at the orphanage woke up early, ate their meals, and headed to the main gate. Mo Yu was still crouched in a corner, drawing, her small, frail figure a stark contrast to the lively children around her.

Mo Yu was a skilled painter, possessing a natural talent for drawing. Soon, she had a picture on paper of two children running hand in hand in a field. One was clearly Nan Feng, the other herself. "Brother Nan Feng, I miss you so much," Mo Yu thought.

"Child, what are you drawing?" Mo Yu raised her head when she heard the question. In front of her was a noble and elegant woman. She was wearing a silk dress, her hair was piled high, and her makeup was delicate but not gaudy. She looked at her gently.

This was definitely the most beautiful aunt she had ever seen, even prettier than the stars she had seen on TV. Mo Yu couldn't help but like her, looking at her innocent smile.

"Auntie, the picture I drew is of my brother and me." He handed the painting over with both hands.

"That's a great drawing. Where is your brother?"

"He was taken home by his grandfather." Thinking of Nan Feng, Mo Yu became sad again, and her eyes instantly became moist.

Seeing this, the woman stepped forward, squatted down, took out a handkerchief and gently wiped Mo Yu's eyes. "I'm sorry, baby. Auntie didn't know. Don't cry. Will you come home with me? Auntie likes you very much. There is a brother in my family. He can play with you, and he will like you very much too."

"But I have to wait for Brother Nan Feng to come home. He asked me to wait for him." The woman liked Mo Yu even more because she saw that she knew how to be honest at such a young age.

"Baby, you can go home with Auntie too. This doesn't conflict with waiting for your brother. We'll write a letter to your brother and tell him to come to Auntie's house to find you later."

Perhaps it was the desire for home, or perhaps it was the love for the beautiful woman in front of him, that made Mo Yu nod. "I do."

The people who adopted Mo Yu were Mrs. Ni, Shang Xue, and her husband, Ni Yuantang. They were dedicated to charity, often donating supplies to orphanages around the country. They had never considered adopting a child, but upon meeting Mo Yu, the couple fell in love with her.

After completing the adoption procedures, Mrs. Ni took Mo Yu's hand and walked towards the luxury car parked in front of the orphanage. The children around them were extremely envious.

Mo Yu was filled with anticipation at this moment. She looked forward to her future home and her future brother. She was also sad. She had lived in the orphanage for ten years, and now she had to leave. She was truly heartbroken. She had once thought of staying here forever. This place was filled with memories of her and Nan Feng; it was their shared home.

After getting in the car, Mo Yu patted herself hard. She was afraid of getting such an expensive car dirty. It was her first time riding in such a nice car. She was curious in her heart, but she didn't dare to look around. She was afraid that the beautiful aunt would dislike her again.

After sitting for a while, Mo Yu felt like she was going to get carsick. She could only close her mouth tightly, grit her teeth, and close her eyes, forcing herself to fall asleep. Suddenly, she thought of her own miserable appearance and turned to the window, fearing that Madam Ni would see her.

She drove drowsily along the way. After an unknown amount of time, the car finally stopped and she opened her eyes. The car door slowly opened, revealing a pair of slender, white hands. Their fingers were slender, with distinct joints, like a beautiful work of art.

After the car door was fully opened, Mo Yu saw the owner of the hand. He had slightly curly hair and a lazy look. His oval face was a perfect oval, with a high nose bridge, a pair of slender almond-shaped eyes, and thin, rosy lips. He was a complete monster. How could there be such a good-looking guy? Even an ordinary shirt looked classy on him.

Ni Jiamu didn't even give Mo Yu a glance, instead turning to his parents. "Mom and Dad, you've worked hard. Mom Wang has already prepared dinner."

"Amu, this is Mo Yu. She will be your sister from now on. We adopted her in S City. You must take good care of her in the future." Ni Yuantang pointed at Mo Yu and said.

Ni Jiamu narrowed his eyes and stared at Mo Yu for a moment, silent. Mo Yu felt helpless under his gaze and had no choice but to lower her head. This was Mo Yu's usual way of protecting herself. By lowering her head, others would not notice her; she wanted to reduce her presence.

When she was in school, many classmates would always laugh at her for being an orphan. She would just lower her head, and her classmates would see that she didn't say anything, and they would find it boring. Gradually, people rarely talked about her anymore.

Shang Xue saw that the atmosphere was a bit awkward, so she pulled Mo Yu over to Ni Jiamu and said, "Xiao Yu, this is the brother that Auntie told you about. Call him brother."

After hearing this, Mo Yu raised her head and smiled at Ni Jiamu, "Brother."

Ni Jiamu didn't agree. He picked up Shang Xue and Ni Yuantang's bags and turned to leave. Mo Yu looked around. The landscaping here was very good, with trees and flowers everywhere, and several villas hidden among them.

Mo Yu followed Madam Ni into one of the largest villas. It was a noble private villa, which also symbolized the noble status of the owner. The decoration style was luxurious but not vulgar, and it was elegant and noble.

At the dinner table, Shang Xue kept picking up food for Mo Yu. Mo Yu looked at the mountain of food in her bowl, feeling helpless, but mostly happy. The food tasted excellent, the best Mo Yu had ever tasted.

However, due to motion sickness, Mo Yu really couldn't eat too much. But in order not to disappoint Mrs. Ni's kindness, she was about to bite the bullet and eat when Shang Xue spoke: "Xiao Yu, this will be your home from now on. Rest for a few days, and then you will enter the new school."

"Yes, Xiaoyu, we will find the best school for you. If you don't understand something about your homework, you can ask your brother." Ni Yuantang continued.

"Okay, I understand. Thank you, uncle and aunt."

"Mom and Dad, I'm in my third year of high school and don't have time. You guys are so free that you even adopted a child. She doesn't understand anything, so you go and teach her." After saying this, Ni Jiamu put down his chopsticks and went straight upstairs, ignoring Ni Yuantang's scolding.

"Ni Jiamu, stop! How can you talk to your parents like that?" Ni Yuantang was so angry that his face turned red.

"Xiaoyu, go play after you finish eating, it's okay," Shang Xue said to Mo Yu who was already scared silly.

After Mo Yu left, Shang Xue patted Ni Yuantang on the shoulder and said, "It's not Amu's fault. We were too anxious. We need to give him some time to digest it. Our Amu loved a sister so much before. He dreamed of me giving him one, but after that incident, he never asked for a sister again." Ni Yuantang sighed deeply.
