My brother is Shi Hao

Chapter 2: The Mystery of the Ruins, Two Heroes Explore Together

"Boom!" After a resounding explosion, the earth seemed to be ripped apart by a giant hand. The violent tremors nearly staggered Shi Yi and Shi Hao. Amidst the flying sand and rocks, towering ancient trees swayed like drunken wrecks, their leaves falling like raindrops, veiling the already dim forest even further.

"Oh no, it's a landslide!" Shi Yi's face changed, he grabbed Shi Hao and ran to a relatively open place.

Before he could finish his words, a deafening rumble erupted from behind him, like the roar of an ancient beast. Looking back, he saw countless boulders, carrying mud and dirt, cascading down like a bursting dam, instantly engulfing the place where they had stood.

"That was a close call!" Shi Hao, still in shock, patted his chest with lingering fear. "If I hadn't reacted quickly, we would have been buried alive!"

Shi Yi didn't respond, his eyes glancing around solemnly. After the landslide, the already rugged mountain road became even more muddy and difficult to navigate. As the sky darkened, large raindrops clattered down, shrouding everything around in a hazy mist.

"This damn weather!" Shi Hao couldn't help but complain, wiping the rain off his face, "Are we lost?"

Shi Yi looked around. The dense forest blocked out the sun. The familiar mountain road had long disappeared. Only endless darkness and unknown dangers were waiting for them.

"Let's find a place to shelter from the rain first." Shi Yi made a quick decision and pointed to a huge banyan tree not far away. "Go under there."

The two men braved the rain and ran to the banyan tree. The dense canopy acted like a giant umbrella, shielding them from the wind and rain. Shi Hao leaned against the trunk, breathing heavily, his clothes already soaked through with rain and freezing cold.

"Brother, do you think we can still find those ruins?" Shi Hao asked worriedly, looking at the gray sky.

Shi Yi was silent for a moment, then he took out a piece of dry food from his pocket and handed it to Shi Hao, "Eat something and conserve your energy. We'll talk about the ruins tomorrow."

Shi Hao took the dry food and swallowed it in two or three mouthfuls. "Brother, do you think there really is such a magical place in the Great Wilderness Mountains?"

"Legend has it that in ancient times, this place was once a battlefield between gods and demons..." Shi Yi looked into the distance, a strange light flashing in his eyes, "Perhaps, those legends are not just legends..."

"Brother, do you believe those legends?" Shi Hao looked at Shi Yi in surprise.

Shi Yi did not answer, but stood up and looked forward with a determined look, "Let's go, let's keep moving forward."

Although Shi Hao still had some doubts in his heart, he chose to trust his brother. He stood up and patted the dirt off his body. "Okay, brother, wherever you go, I will go!"

The two set out on a journey to search for the ruins again. The rain was still falling and the mountain road was muddy and difficult to walk on, but they were no longer confused because they had a common goal in their hearts, which was to unravel the secrets of the Great Wilderness Mountains and find the legendary ancient ruins.

"Be careful!" Shi Yi suddenly grabbed Shi Hao and pulled him behind him.

"What's wrong?" Before Shi Hao could react, he felt a fishy wind blowing towards him...

A fishy wind blew in their faces, and Shi Hao could see clearly that a giant python as thick as a bucket had appeared in front of them at some point. Its dark green scales glowed coldly in the dim light, and its scarlet tongue flickered in and out, making a hissing sound, which was creepy.

The giant python clearly regarded them as prey, opening its bloody mouth, revealing its sharp fangs, and suddenly pounced at Shi Yi. Shi Yi was prepared and pushed Shi Hao away, while nimbly dodging. The giant python missed its bite and slammed heavily into the tree trunk behind it with a loud "bang".

"Brother, be careful!" Shi Hao exclaimed, picking up a stone and throwing it at the giant python. Shi Yi steadied himself, drew the dagger from his waist, and with a sharp gaze, searched for the giant python's weakness. The giant python, enraged by Shi Hao, twisted its huge body and attacked him.

Shi Yi saw the right moment and rushed forward, stabbing the giant python with his dagger. The giant python felt pain and twisted and struggled madly, and Shi Yi was thrown out and fell heavily to the ground.

"Brother!" Shi Hao was extremely anxious when he saw this. He rushed towards the giant python without hesitation. The giant python opened its bloody mouth and was about to swallow Shi Hao.

"Hao'er, its eyes!" Shi Yi endured the pain and reminded loudly.

Upon hearing this, Shi Hao took a closer look and saw a flash of panic in the giant python's cold, vertical pupils. He immediately understood that the giant python's eyes were its weakness!

At the critical moment, Shi Hao did not retreat but advanced, and the stone in his hand smashed into the giant python's eyes with a sound of breaking through the air.

"boom!"

There was a dull thud, and the giant python let out a deafening roar. Its huge body rolled violently, knocking the surrounding trees to the ground. Shi Yi seized the opportunity, got up from the ground, and rushed towards the giant python again.

The python's eyes were struck by Shi Hao, and blood gushed out. Its vision became blurred, and it could only attack everything around it randomly. Shi Yi seized the opportunity, and the dagger in his hand turned into a cold light, fiercely stabbing the python's vital point...

The giant python's movements gradually slowed down, and finally it fell to the ground with a loud bang, no longer moving. Shi Yi and Shi Hao looked at the huge corpse in front of them and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Finally solved..." Shi Hao sat down on the ground, feeling powerless. Shi Yi also felt a wave of exhaustion, but he still managed to walk to the giant python's corpse and carefully observe it.

"Brother, what are you looking at?" Shi Hao asked curiously.

Shi Yi didn't answer, but reached out and parted the vines around the giant python's body, revealing a pitch-black hole...

"There seems to be something behind this..." Shi Yi said in a low voice, with a hint of excitement that was hard to conceal in his tone.

A foul odor filled the air, and the giant python's corpse lay at the entrance of the cave, as if warning of the fate of those who trespassed. However, curiosity about the unknown and the desire for the legendary treasure overcame the fear in Shi Yi and Shi Hao's hearts.

"Brother, do you think there is really a treasure hidden in here?" Shi Hao wiped the sweat from his face, his tone filled with a hint of excitement and uneasiness.

"Whether there is one or not, we have to go in and take a look." Shi Yi dusted himself off, his eyes determined. The appearance of the giant python was no accident, which further confirmed his belief: this cave is definitely not simple.

They stepped over the python's corpse and cautiously approached the cave entrance, which was covered by vines, appearing deep and mysterious. A cold wind blew out from inside, carrying a smell of decay.

Shi Yi picked up a stone from the ground and threw it into the cave. The sound of the stone hitting the ground echoed in the cave, but for a long time, there was no sound of the mechanism being activated.

"It seems we've worried too much." Shi Hao breathed a sigh of relief, bent down and took the lead to enter the cave.

The cave was pitch black, and Shi Yi took out a tinder from his pocket, blew it, and lit a torch. The flame flickered, illuminating the surrounding environment.

This is a narrow passage with moss growing on the stone walls on both sides and some animal bones scattered on the ground, making it look eerie and scary.

"Brother, do you think there are ghosts here?" Shi Hao's voice trembled a little as he followed Shi Yi closely.

"Don't talk nonsense, there are no ghosts in this world." Shi Yi said, but he was a little nervous in his heart.

As they continued walking forward, the passage gradually became wider. Stalactites above their heads hung upside down in various shapes. In the light of the fire, they looked like the faces of ghosts, which was chilling.

"Be careful!" Shi Yi suddenly shouted and pulled Shi Hao. The originally flat ground under their feet suddenly collapsed, revealing a huge black pit.

Shi Hao was still in shock, and before he could thank Shi Yi, he felt a sharp pain in his foot.

"Ah!" Shi Hao screamed and looked down, only to see a sharp wooden thorn piercing his foot, and blood instantly dyed the ground red.

"Hao'er!" Shi Yi's face changed drastically, and he hurriedly squatted down to check Shi Hao's injuries.

"This is... a trap!" Shi Hao said gritting his teeth, sweating profusely from the pain.

Shi Yi looked up and saw that there was a similar trap at regular intervals on both sides of the passage ahead. If one did not observe carefully, one would easily fall into it.

"Looks like we're in trouble..." Shi Yi frowned, a cold light flashing in his eyes. He knew that the real test had just begun...

Shi Yi's brow furrowed, and a golden light flashed in his eyes, and his double pupils opened! The scene before him suddenly changed. The dark passage became clearly visible, and even the subtle energy flows in the air were clearly visible before his eyes. He saw that beneath the seemingly ordinary ground, there were crisscrossing energy veins, and those traps were set at the energy nodes.

"Follow me!" Shi Yi pulled Shi Hao up, tapping his toes as he moved through the passage like a ghost. Each step he took landed precisely within the gaps in the energy veins, avoiding deadly traps. Shi Hao followed behind, surprised to find that the passage, once fraught with danger, had become a smooth journey under Shi Yi's guidance.

"Brother, your eyes..." Shi Hao couldn't help asking. He knew that Shi Yi's eyes were different from others, but he had never seen such a magical ability.

"My eyes can see things that ordinary people cannot see." Shi Yi explained simply, without elaborating on the secret of the double pupils.

As they walked forward, the air around them gradually grew drier, and the stone walls were no longer covered in wet moss, but were now covered with ancient patterns. These patterns had rough lines, full of primitive power, and seemed to contain some mysterious meaning.

"These patterns..." Shi Hao reached out and touched the patterns on the stone wall, feeling a sense of vicissitudes and antiquity coming towards him.

"Perhaps it's some kind of ancient writing, or perhaps it's some kind of formation totem." Shi Yi observed the patterns carefully, his heart filled with curiosity. He had a vague feeling that these patterns were not just simple decorations, but might have some connection with the origin and secrets of this relic.

At this moment, Shi Yi, who was walking in front, suddenly stopped and his eyes fell on a stone door at the end of the passage. The stone door was closed, and it was also engraved with ancient patterns, exuding a mysterious and powerful aura.

"Brother, what's wrong?" Shi Hao saw Shi Yi stop and followed him over.

Shi Yi didn't say anything, but just stretched out his hand and gently stroked the pattern on the stone door, feeling a cool touch at his fingertips.

"Behind this door, perhaps lies the answer we are looking for..." Shi Yi withdrew his hand and whispered, with a hint of expectation and solemnity in his tone.
