Conan wants to lie down but won't let him

Chapter 29: The Armor Murder Case in the Art Museum

In front of the Medieval Art Museum.

"Look! This should be the art museum. However, there are quite a lot of people here today. It doesn't look like the art museum that is about to close as reported?" Kogoro Mouri said, pointing to the art museum.

"Maybe everyone has the same idea as us, and is attracted by the moving armor!" Fujiwara Hiroshi took over the conversation and answered.

"Then let's go in first and see what's so special about it." Kogoro Mouri invited everyone to enter the art museum together.

An old man was at the entrance, guiding the crowd of tourists. Just as it was Maori's turn to check in, a voice came from behind, shouting.

"Director Ochiai, I remember I instructed you to close the museum to visitors. Why didn't you do that? Why did you allow so many people into the museum?"

A middle-aged man in a suit questioned Director Ochiai in a harsh tone.

"Boss Manaka, you see, business was not good before, but now more and more tourists are coming to the art exhibition. As the director, I am also considering the business of our art museum." Director Ochiai's eyes were covered by his long eyebrows, and he spoke slowly.

"Don't say these useless things. Since you want to open your business, just continue to do so. In 10 days, I will have this art museum demolished!" Boss Manaka said to Director Ochiai bluntly, striding into the art museum.

"This guy really deserves a beating for what he said!" Kogoro Mouri said.

"Director, is this art museum really going to be demolished?" asked Mao Lilan.

"Yes, the previous owner wanted to find someone who was willing to continue running the art museum because it was not doing well. But he didn't expect that this Manaka was two-faced and fickle. He first pretended to agree to continue running the art museum, but after the property rights were transferred, this guy announced that he would demolish the art museum and convert it into a hotel!" Director Ochiai said indignantly.

With Manaka coming over and causing trouble, Director Ochiai no longer had the interest to stay at the door to greet guests, and he and Mori and his group entered the art museum.

As soon as I arrived at the art museum, I saw a staff member packing up the art exhibits with his bare hands.

"Hey! Kubota! I've told you so many times not to touch the exhibits with your hands directly. Remember to wear gloves! Forget it, Iijima, come and help him." Director Ochiai shouted at Kubota loudly, and at the same time arranged for Iijima to take over the task of cleaning up the exhibits.

After being scolded by Director Ochiai, Kubota quickly apologized.

"Go to my office first and reflect on yourself."

After that, he led Maori Kogoro and his group to the exhibition hall of the so-called moving medieval warrior armor. They looked around several times but couldn't see anything special.

"Director Ochiai, this is my business card. If you need any help, you can contact me." Fujiwara Hiroshi handed Director Ochiai a business card when they parted.

Fujiwara Hiroshi sighed inwardly, hoping that Director Ochiai could understand his hint. Everyone has their own choices. Some people kill out of selfishness, while others kill out of desperation. With an additional escape route, he hoped to save him. After all, Director Ochiai, a tragic hero, was a source of regret for many, and if there was a chance, they would hope to save him. Of course, if Director Ochiai didn't understand the hint, it meant that the hatred in his heart had blinded him, and no one could change the outcome.

Director Ochiai looked at Fujiwara Hiroshi who was walking away with Mori Kogoro, looked down at the business card in his hand, and had an inexplicable feeling.

The art museum is quite large, and everyone felt dizzy after walking around. On the way, we passed by a room with a sign saying "Under Repair". This art museum is really dedicated. Everything was immediately demolished and renovated, and it is still under repair.

Everyone ignored it and continued to explore the exhibitions in other rooms. In a blink of an eye, an hour and a half passed, and everyone had almost finished touring the entire art gallery. When they passed the room under renovation again, they found that the sign was gone.

"Look, the room that was under repair when we came here before is now accessible. Do you want to go in and take a look?" Of course, Conan was the most curious. Seeing this sudden situation, he instinctively felt that something was wrong and wanted to go in to investigate.

"Why don't we go and take a look together? We've already looked at all the other rooms, so let's go in and take a look at this last room. After all, this art museum will be demolished by the owner in 10 days, and we probably won't have the chance to visit it again!" Ran Mouri spoke up to help Conan.

"Okay! Then let's go in together, Brother Maori. If you have nothing to do in the evening, you can have another drink together to relax!" Fujiwara Hiroshi decided to go down and take a look, and at the same time continued to invite Maori Kogoro to drink together in the evening.

Everyone entered the room together. The dark atmosphere around them made people feel chilly. For some reason, the lighting in the room was a little dim.

"Why is the light in this room so much dimmer than in other rooms?" Ran Mouri shrank back.

"Maybe it's to match the surrounding design. The surroundings are obviously in medieval European design style. Look at that huge oil painting, doesn't it confirm the medieval style?" Fujiwara Hirokazu walked in front and pointed at the "Divine Punishment" painting in the center of the hall.

Everyone's attention was immediately drawn to the painting, and they came to the explanation table. "The Knight of Justice Judges the Devil!" Mao Lilan read out the content above.

"Tick! Tick!"

"Did you hear any sound?" Mao Lilan asked, listening carefully to distinguish which direction it came from. Hearing the sound seemed to come from the direction that had just come in from behind, Mao Lilan slowly turned around and looked.

"Ah!!!!" A scream echoed throughout the art gallery. (Mouri Ran—the usual atmosphere stunner. She, her husband, and her father have visited crime scenes so many times, and every time, she's the one who sets the mood.)

Everyone looked in the direction where Mao Lilan pointed, and saw a corpse with its throat pierced and nailed to the wall where they had just come from. Because the head was drooping, everyone did not know the identity of the deceased.

Fujiwara Hiroshi sighed inwardly, wondering if he was still on this path. What a shame!

"Ran! Go call the police! And notify the security to seal off the entire art museum and don't let anyone leave before the police arrive. Go!" Mouri Kogoro sternly ordered Ran to call the police, and then saw that Ran was still in a daze, so he added loudly at the end!

Fujiwara Hiroshi approached the corpse and, as expected, it was the foul-mouthed Boss Manaka. Half of the reason Boss Manaka was nailed there was his style of doing things, and the other half was his mouth. With his behavior, even if nothing happened now, he would be dead sooner or later.
