Coming to the StarCraft to Be a Kindergarten Teacher: Perfect Transformation
Chapter 13 The first clues appear
As I slowly sat down in the spacious, bright living room, a wave of deep gratitude welled up in my heart for Admiral Ed and all those who had helped me. In this completely unfamiliar world, upon waking from my coma, I felt lost and helpless. However, it was the kind nurses, professional doctors, and compassionate caregivers who offered me warm care and support. Their patient care allowed me to experience the warmth of humanity and regained my courage and confidence in life. This feeling of gratitude flowed through my heart like a warm current, becoming my strongest motivation to move forward.
But I still felt sad, as if a mountain was pressing down on my chest. I knew I had left the world I once knew forever. And right now, what I missed most was my parents. How were they doing? Were they also suffering over my loss? The thought brought tears to my eyes like a flood, uncontrollable. With trembling hands, I reached out and retrieved my belongings from the hospital check-in counter. The sight of that familiar wallet pierced my heart. I slowly opened the wallet, and inside, the family photo came into view. Everyone in the photo was smiling brightly and happily, but now, all that was left was endless longing and sorrow...
Tears poured out like a flood, blurring my vision. I desperately tried to see clearly, but my sight grew increasingly blurry. Through my tearful eyes, I vaguely made out the list of items from the hospital check-in area: a wallet, two sets of clothes... These simple words, like a ruthless sword, pierced my heart deeply.
And now, I sit alone on the sofa in my living room, clutching tightly to that faded family photo. The smiles in the photo were so radiant, but now, only endless sorrow and pain remain. I sit there in silence, letting the tears flow freely, my body gradually growing numb. Finally, exhausted from crying, I slowly close my eyes and drift into a deep sleep. Perhaps in my dreams, I can find a fleeting moment of peace and comfort...
I don’t know how long I slept. In a daze, I suddenly heard a clear shout coming from outside the window: "Stop! You bad guy!" The voice sounded familiar, as if it came from the girl next door.
I struggled to get up from the sofa, rubbed my sleepy eyes, and looked towards the window. Sure enough, the girl next door appeared in front of me. At this moment, she was holding the reins of a dog tightly, and the dog seemed to be as tall as her waist.
The dog shook its head and whined, seemingly unwilling to obey the woman's instructions. The woman tugged at the reins, trying to calm the dog. Her face revealed a hint of anxiety and helplessness, clearly struggling to control the dog.
Seeing this, the corners of my mouth curled up slightly, and I couldn't help but smile, thinking to myself, "This girl is so innocent, lively and adorable!" As if sensing my gaze, she gracefully turned her head, meeting my gaze. In that instant, her eyes were as clear as water, as bright and captivating as the twinkling stars in the night sky. Her smile, revealing two shallow dimples, was breathtakingly beautiful. Then, she quickly extended a hand and waved hello, her gesture graceful and elegant, like a flower in full bloom in spring. However, before I could respond, she was stopped by an excited dog nearby and hurried away. Watching her retreating figure, my mood brightened, as if the whole world were filled with sunshine and warmth.
I've been crying for so long, it's time to stop. After all, life must go on, and I can't always be immersed in sadness. If my parents knew that I was still alive in another time and space, they would definitely hope that I could live a good life, right?
I took a deep breath, stood up, and walked to the bathroom with heavy steps. I turned on the faucet, and the cold water hit my face, making me shiver. But this cold feeling also made me feel much more awake, as if it had washed away the haze in my heart.
Just as I was washing my face with cold water, there was a sudden knock on the door. The knock was not loud, but definitely not small either. It sounded just right in the silent room and was particularly clear.
I couldn't help but feel puzzled, wondering who it could be. I quickly walked out of the bathroom, ready to open the door to find out.
When I opened the door, I was greeted by the neighbor I'd just met. She smiled at me, her eyes radiating warmth and friendliness. However, she didn't seem to notice my red, puffy eyes. Instead, she said, "You just moved in today, so there must be a lot you haven't prepared yet! I'd like to take you to a nearby store to pick up some things you need, and we can get to know each other while we're there. What do you think?"
Her words surprised me, as I was still recovering from the emotional shock. But seeing her sincerity and enthusiasm, I felt embarrassed to refuse, so I nodded in agreement. And so, I followed her out the door, toward the nearby shops. Along the way, she chatted with me, introducing the surroundings and small details of life. This gradually put me at ease, and my mood improved.
"Huh..." I let out a long sigh of relief. I'm finally home! This trip to the store was truly rewarding! Not only did I buy the items I loved, but I also made a new friend—my neighbor, Wei'er.
During our conversation, I learned that Wei'er is currently a junior in college and is a diligent and studious student. The big dog we just saw is her brother's pet.
Before we parted, we exchanged contact information on our laptops so we could stay in touch. This made me incredibly excited, and I look forward to more opportunities to connect and interact with Wei'er in the future. After all, we meet all kinds of people in life, but only a few become friends. I believe that meeting Wei'er will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
At that moment, I suddenly remembered the checklist I'd seen before falling asleep. Wasn't my phone in my bag? Why wasn't it on the list? I decided to take a closer look, wondering if I'd been blurry from crying. I went to the living room, picked up the list, and examined it. It was indeed a wallet and two sets of clothes. I checked my phone next to me—it was there.
