Chapter 124 Mushroom War
After a long journey, I finally arrived home. Now I just need a good rest before embarking on the most important task of this trip home: picking mushrooms. Upon arriving home yesterday, I activated the entire house's intelligent system via my spaceship's optical computer, having it perform a thorough cleaning and disinfection. After disembarking, I found a hovercar, entered my destination, and waited for it to automatically park outside my door. Upon entering, although the house appeared clean and tidy, it felt a bit deserted, having been unoccupied for nearly a month. I locked the door, put down my belongings, and quickly loaded the sheets and duvet cover into the washing machine. After showering, I changed into fresh sheets and duvet cover and took the washed set of bedding outside to dry in the sun. No matter where I am, I always enjoy hanging my sheets and duvet cover out in the sun because it brings a sense of comfort. After airing my bedding, I returned home to blow-dry my damp hair and then settled into bed for a wonderful nap.
I woke up from my nap feeling refreshed. I stretched myself, then slowly climbed out of bed. I walked to the window, opened the curtains, and the sunlight on my face was incredibly warm.
I picked up my phone and called Lotta. After a few rings, Lotta's clear and pleasant voice came from the other end of the line: "Hello?" I said, "Hey, Lotta, I'd like to meet up with you to talk about what's going on. Let's meet at our usual place." Lotta happily agreed and said, "Okay, see you later!"
Not long after, Lotta arrived at our usual café. As soon as she entered, she spotted me sitting in the corner and a bright smile appeared on her face. We exchanged a few pleasantries, ordered two coffees, and began to share our experiences.
I excitedly recounted my marvelous experiences on Snow Planet, including the beautiful scenery, unique creatures, and warm and hospitable locals. Lotta listened with rapt attention, occasionally exclaiming in amazement and showing keen interest in my descriptions. I then mentioned the children's growth and progress at summer camp, how they had learned teamwork, independent living, and problem-solving skills.
Lotta listened attentively, offering her thoughts and suggestions from time to time. She said, "It sounds like these kids are really learning a lot, which will definitely help them in their future development." We chatted happily, and time flew by unnoticed. Finally, we agreed to travel together again when we have the chance to explore more of the world.
After my meeting with Lotta, I returned home and reflected on yesterday's packed day. It was perfectly timed, seamless yet not too tiring. I had prepared everything yesterday, and today I had one important task: gathering supplies.
I quickly changed into light, comfortable clothes and shoes, then took out my small cart. It wasn't big, but it could hold a lot of stuff. Once I was ready, I headed out to my destination.
Arriving at the site, I boarded a hovercar. As the vehicle started, I felt a sense of ease and joy. After about ten minutes, the car stopped at the foot of the mountain. It was a beautiful and peaceful place, surrounded by lush trees and a crystal-clear stream.
Today's goal is to fill this small cart with all kinds of supplies to meet daily needs. I took a deep breath and started to move. Before picking mushrooms, I turned on the hover camera. "Hello everyone, I'm picking mushrooms again!" I greeted the camera. "The air here is so fresh, it makes me feel happy."
I followed the path into the woods, looking for fruits and vegetables to pick; I followed the stream, catching small fish and shrimps, and carefully searching for traces of mushrooms. Soon, I found some mushrooms that looked like small umbrellas and were very cute.
"Wow, look at these mushrooms, how beautiful!" I picked them and put them in the cart.
Then I found some brightly colored mushrooms, but I knew that some brightly colored mushrooms might be poisonous, so I distinguished them carefully.
"Look, this kind of mushroom is called 'red mushroom', and it is very delicious!" I said as I put the red mushroom into the small cart.
In this way, I slowly collected mushrooms, and the cart became more and more full. I continued to walk deeper into the forest, and suddenly I found a tree in front of me with red fruits growing on it, which looked very tempting.
I walked closer and saw that these fruits were similar to strawberries, but bigger and brighter.
I scanned it with my optical computer and discovered that this berry, like strawberries, belongs to the same genus Fragaria in the Rosaceae family. They typically ripen between July and September, and the ripe fruits display a vibrant crimson color. Gazing at the alluring berries, I couldn't resist the urge to carefully pick one and place it in my mouth. Immediately, a rich sweetness permeated my mouth, accompanied by a rich, juicy flavor that was intoxicating.
"Wow, so sweet!" I exclaimed in surprise, a satisfied smile on my face, "These fruits are so delicious!"
Intrigued by the delicious flavor, I enthusiastically began picking the berries. Before long, my hands were overflowing with berries. As I reveled in the joy of my harvest, I suddenly remembered that the spot where I'd last found Alpha-nuclei wasn't far from here. An idea struck me: Why not go see if there were any more? If so, I could pick some up and make delicious Alpha-nuclei oil.
Thinking of this, I excitedly said to the camera, "Hey everyone, let's go to the place where we picked up the Alpha-Agaricus last time. Maybe we can find some more! If we do, let's pick up some and take them home. We'll then use them to make Alpha-Agaricus oil. I'll draw some lucky fans in the comment section and share this unique delicacy with everyone!" With that, I couldn't wait to quickly walk towards the mushroom nest. When I arrived, there were many fresh Alpha-Agaricus mushrooms growing there. I cheered happily and began to pick them busily.
"Wow, look! There's such a huge field of Alternaria japonica here!" I was so excited that I danced with joy, eager to tell the world about my discovery. So, I zoomed in with the hover camera to show the field of Alternaria japonica, my excitement evident in words.
Before long, I had gathered a full heap of Alstonia arborescens, their enticing aroma making my mouth water. I smiled contentedly, "I'm so lucky today!" These Alstonia arborescens were not only plentiful but also of excellent quality—a true gift from heaven.
I then set aside my cart laden with Altissima and began my ascent. Along the way, I savored the magnificent scenery and felt the allure of nature. Once at the summit, I began searching for rare wild herbs. While this journey was challenging, it also brought me endless joy.
After two hours of hard work, my little cart was finally filled with all sorts of supplies. Looking at this overflowing haul, I felt a surge of accomplishment. This foraging trip not only provided me with the supplies I needed, but more importantly, it allowed me to appreciate the beauty of nature and experience the simple joys of life. It was a truly wonderful feeling.
