Coming to the StarCraft to Be a Kindergarten Teacher: Perfect Transformation
Chapter 1 Bad News
A buzzing sound exploded in my head. Before I could recover from the joy, I was met with devastating news. The good news was that we weren't rehearsing for Children's Day this year; it was a children's holiday, a chance for them to have fun. The bad news was that July was graduation season, and each class had a program for the ceremony. As a kindergarten teacher with eight years of experience, rehearsing a program was a significant challenge. I took a deep breath and told myself to stay calm. After all, this wasn't my first time facing such a challenge. Back in class, I talked to my co-teacher, Xiaobai, and my life teacher, Xiaoli, about Children's Day and the graduation ceremony, and we began searching for a program. Due to the limitations of our clothing, we had to look for something with a traditional Chinese feel. I searched through Little Green Book, Douyin, and WeChat, but couldn't come up with anything interesting for the children to rehearse. So, I turned on my computer again and began searching for interesting program ideas, thinking about how to make this graduation ceremony unique.
We also decided to gather the class together to discuss their unique ideas and talents. Perhaps, through interaction with the children, I could find some unique inspiration to make this performance even more exciting. Considering the age characteristics of the middle-grade children, after a week of searching, we finally chose "Little Taoist Child" over "Little Tavern." With the program finalized, the three of us teachers began learning the dance, first mastering it ourselves before teaching the children. The learning process wasn't easy. Although all three of us had a basic dance foundation, capturing the lively and agile feel of "Little Taoist Child" was still a challenge. We honed every move and expression, striving for perfection. Sometimes, we practiced a single move dozens or even hundreds of times. After several days, our backs and waists ached, but the thought of the children's adorable appearance on stage rekindled our motivation. Finally, after tireless effort, we had a general grasp of the dance. Next, we had to teach it to the children, hoping they would enjoy and perform it smoothly. A new week arrived, and Black Monday arrived as expected. Monday morning, I walked into the classroom filled with confidence. When the children saw me, they came over to me.
"Teacher, do we want to learn the little Taoist dance?" "Teacher, I want to learn that spinning movement!" The children's excited voices came one after another.
I smiled and nodded, then began to lead them in a warm-up. As the music started, I demonstrated the movements and explained the key points. The children watched intently, trying to imitate my movements.
However, problems soon emerged. Some children's movements were not coordinated enough, and some could not keep up with the rhythm. I patiently corrected their mistakes and encouraged them to practice more.
After the class, although the children were tired and out of breath, they all showed great interest.
"Teacher, I will practice more when I get home!" "Teacher, I will definitely dance better next time!" Looking at the children's enthusiastic faces, I feel extremely gratified.
While the rehearsal road ahead may be filled with challenges, I'm confident that as long as we work together, we'll be able to present a wonderful performance at the graduation ceremony. The next day, after completing our outdoor circuit and resting in the classroom, we resumed our dance practice. After the break, the children perked up and danced diligently to the music. I moved among the children, carefully observing their movements and offering timely guidance and corrections.
"Everyone, pay attention to your posture, keep your arms straight, and keep your steps in rhythm..." I shouted.
Although some children's movements were not quite standard, they were all working hard to improve. Xun Xun, a shy child, was extremely focused when dancing, performing every move very seriously.
"Xianxian, you dance very well! Keep it up!" I praised.
After hearing this, Xunxun smiled brightly. The other children were also encouraged and practiced even harder.
The whole classroom was filled with laughter and joy. I was deeply moved by the children's hard work and enthusiasm. I believe that with everyone's joint efforts, we will be able to create a wonderful graduation ceremony.
