Jiang Ling busily finished processing the report in her hand and only raised her head slowly after signing the last document.

Seeing this, the assistant who had been standing respectfully by the side hurried forward and handed over a folder with both hands: "Master, this is the budget for the anniversary celebration."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ling simply turned his head slightly, glanced at the document, picked up a pen and signed.

The moment the pen tip touched the paper, he keenly noticed that there was something strange in the assistant's tone, and a trace of impatience rose in his heart.

She frowned and said coldly, "I have something to say."

The assistant was shocked by her unabashed tone, lowering his head a little awkwardly to collect his thoughts. "Master, actually... quite a few of the employees are fans of the young lady."

"They've been discussing this privately for quite some time, hoping to invite a young lady to attend the anniversary celebration."

Hearing this, Jiang Ling's fingers, which were casually twirling the pen in her hand, suddenly stopped in mid-air.

The image of the little guy who stayed at home all day long, his small figure as lazy as a paramecium, came to my mind.

All day long, he either lies on the sofa with snacks watching anime, or keeps scrolling on his phone.

The corners of her mouth twitched slightly, revealing a meaningful smile. She then picked up the budget document she had just signed and opened it to take a closer look.

Tapping her fingertips on the table, she pondered for a moment: "First, make sufficient preparations and arrange the event process properly.

"Depending on her mood, if she's willing, we can move her performance to the end or the opening."

Upon hearing this, the assistant's eyes flashed with joy. He bent down respectfully, took the document with the scent of ink, and put it away carefully.

Jiang Ling stood up, quickly opened the coat hanging beside him, and put it on.

Behind him, his assistant followed closely. After arriving at the underground garage, he did not go directly to the Yun family.

Instead, they drove to a secret place - a gloomy basement hidden deep in the mountains.

The exterior is completely covered by dense branches and leaves, as if isolated from the world.

Pushing open the heavy iron door, a damp and rotten smell hit my nose.

The dim light in the basement revealed a horrifying scene: a group of people were tied tightly in rusty iron cages. They were the same thugs who had brazenly launched the attack in Bear Country.

However, at this moment they had long lost their original arrogance. Each of them had been tortured beyond recognition, with their bodies covered with cracks and hideous wounds.

Jiang Ling walked to the cage with steady steps. The leader of the group - a middle-aged man with stubble on his face and a dull look in his eyes - raised his head, and the moment he saw her figure, a provocative smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

He spoke in a hoarse voice, his tone filled with resentment and resentment, and began with a series of cordial "greetings": "Kill me if you have the guts..."

Before he finished speaking, a burly man standing nearby, dressed in a neat suit and leather gloves, stepped forward without hesitation and slapped him hard.

A crisp sound echoed in the basement. The force was so great that several bloody teeth flew out of the leader's mouth and scattered on the dirty ground like fallen chess pieces.

Jiang Ling glanced at the assistant beside him expressionlessly.

Soon, several men pushed over another iron cage, and the squeaking wheels rolled over the ground, making a harsh friction sound.

The chief's wife and two children were locked in the cage. The three of them were huddled together, dressed in tattered clothes, their faces filled with fear.

His wife's hair was disheveled, tears still stained on her face, while the two children trembled with helplessness in their eyes. Seeing this scene, the leader's pupils suddenly shrank, and the secret hidden in his heart seemed to be torn open in an instant.

He thought he had been in this business for many years and had already hidden his family well. After all, in those days when people lived on the edge of a knife, getting married and having children was a taboo. But now... he never expected that all this would be exposed right under his nose.

His rock-hard temperament crumbled in an instant. His knees softened and he fell to the ground with a thud, begging in a trembling voice, "Please... I really can't tell anyone about the person behind this..."

Jiang Ling said nothing from beginning to end and slowly pulled out a pistol from his waist.

Without waiting for the leader to react, he pulled the trigger without hesitation and shot a child in the head behind him.

"Bang!" The gunshot was deafening. The child didn't even make a sound and fell straight down like a puppet with its strings cut. The blood quickly dyed the bottom of the cage red.

The leader's eyes widened, and a heartbreaking cry of "Fuck..." came out of his throat.

But before he could curse, the burly man in a suit next to him slapped him mercilessly, making him dizzy and foaming at the mouth.

Jiang Ling didn't even raise his eyebrows. He turned the gun in his hand slightly and pointed it at the other child.

There was another "bang", just as crisply and decisively, and the second child fell to the ground, his life gone in an instant. All that was left in the cage was the wife's heart-wrenching cry, echoing in the empty basement.

The leader completely collapsed, slamming his forehead against the ground. His voice was so hoarse it was almost inhuman: "I'll tell you! I'll tell you! I'll tell you everything!"

With tears streaming down his face, he unburdened himself of the entire cause and effect, and every word sounded like blood plucked from the depths of his heart.

After asking everything clearly, Jiang Ling slowly put away the gun, took the clean towel handed to him by his assistant, and wiped the blood and smell of gunpowder off his hands.

He changed into a brand new black windbreaker and walked out of the damp and cold basement without looking back.

Just as she stepped out of the door, a dull gunshot suddenly rang out behind her - that was the last bullet left for the leader.

She has never been a soft-hearted person, but ever since she had the little one, she didn't want her clothes to be stained with blood.
