Quick Wear: I'm Really Not a Scumbag

Chapter 9: The Bad Man in the Period Literature (9)

"Dad." Chen Jianyan rushed over and hugged Chen Xuyan who had just arrived at the door.

"What's wrong?" This kid is so excited today. Did he get first place in the exam again?

"Dad, mom brought back your notice, please let me see it." Zhang Ni refused to let him see it, fearing that he would get it wet or tear it, so he was too rough.

"Is it okay?" Chen Jianyan hugged his legs.

"Let's wait and see. It's time to eat soon. Go wash your hands." Zhang Ni gave Chen Jianyan, who was making a fuss, a look.

He immediately turned into a little turtle.

After dinner, Chen Jianyan kept chattering while holding Chen Xuyan's notice, asking how to pronounce the words he didn't know. He kept talking to Chen Xuyan until dark. Zhang Ni's head was buzzing, so she covered his mouth and warned him to go back to his room if he continued talking.

Chen Jianyan refused to go back, but didn't dare to speak anymore. He turned over and threw himself into Chen Xuyan's arms, and fell asleep in a short while.

Chen Xuyan, who was originally preparing to talk to Zhang Ni, stopped talking and closed his eyes when he saw this.

Zhang Zhuangzhuang moved a stool for his younger aunt. Originally, his mother was responsible for washing his clothes, but his mother had quarreled with his eldest aunt and went back to her parents' home. His father also had something to do today, so he went out early in the morning before dawn.

"You should go to school quickly. You will be late if you don't go out now." Zhang Qiaoqiao glanced at her nephew. It was still a bit far to walk to school from home. He always liked to go to school with Chen Jianyan. The child was probably still waiting at this time.

"Thank you, aunt." Zhang Zhuangzhuang heard Chen Jianyan say that one should not take anyone's help for granted, and should say thank you.

Zhang Qiaoqiao touched his head. Ever since her nephew went to school, he has become more and more polite. She heard that his grades are also pretty good. Her eyes were a little dim. She wished she could study.

Ever since she finished elementary school, her mother wouldn't let her go to junior high school. She'd already been working at home for a year, her mother saying the family couldn't afford her. But her second sister continued making clothes one by one. Looking at her own floral dress, it was one Zhang Cuihua had discarded, but it was still in great shape and new. She just said the style wasn't new enough, so she gave it to her.

It would be great if it could be exchanged for tuition fees, she felt that it would definitely be enough.

Zhang Zhuangzhuang felt a little sorry for her, as she was the one who taught him many of the homework he didn't know how to do. Of course he knew that his aunt liked studying, and every time she saw him going to school, her eyes were full of envy.

Chen Jianyan looked at Zhang Zhuangzhuang who was walking towards him with a lonely look on his face, feeling a little puzzled.

Zhang Zhuangzhuang finished telling him what happened at home. Although his logic would definitely not make sense to adults, Chen Jianyan, who often played with him, quickly understood what he meant. Chen Jianyan thought for a while and then answered him.

"Your father and grandfather are both capable. They get full work points and do other things on a regular basis. Your grandmother and your mother also get full work points. How could they not have this little money for her to go to junior high school?" Chen Jianyan sneered.

"What's the reason?" Zhang Zhuangzhuang was curious.

"That's because your grandma is partial to you. How can you compare with your aunt in your grandma's eyes?"

Zhang Zhuangzhuang shook his head, "Not as good as it."

Many of the things that my aunt ate were bought by my grandmother, and she had no share at all. My mother and I had quarreled about this several times. Once, my father bought some candied haws for himself and my aunt saw it. She was going to make a fuss because she didn't get any.

But Dad only bought one string. It is a rare thing and can only be seen occasionally during festivals. Mom said that she even cared about children's things. At that time, my aunt's eyes were scary, and I hid behind Dad so I couldn't see it.

"Your aunt is pretty miserable too." Chen Jianyan shook his head.

Although they are both daughters, their fates are so different. Zhang Cuihua can get whatever she wants at home. She is like an old ox at home.

"My dad said that he would send my aunt to school after the harvest this year." Zhang Zhuangzhuang raised his head proudly.

"Does your aunt know?" Chen Jianyan asked curiously.

"She doesn't know that my dad said that grandpa and grandma have to pay, and his money is all with my mom." Most of his dad's money is in the hands of grandma, and only a part is in the hands of mom.

Chen Jianyan felt that this matter would probably cause more trouble. Zhang Zhuangzhuang's parents were not bad people, otherwise they would not have raised such an honest child. But the rest was hard to say. He even felt that Zhang Zhuangzhuang's grandmother was like a beggar and would sell Zhang Qiaoqiao.

"I heard that my aunt is getting married. It would be great if she gets married. Then my family will have peace." Zhang Zhuangzhuang was looking forward to it.

Zhang Zhuangzhuang told Chen Jianyan what Grandma Zhang and Zhang Cuihua said when they quarreled.

Chen Jianyan did not break his beautiful fantasy, although he guessed that the matter was not that simple and that their family would cause chaos in the village. He hoped that Zhang Zhuangzhuang would not be accidentally hurt.

Why should adult matters affect children?

After returning home, Chen Jianyan told Zhang Ni and Chen Xuyan about this incident at the dinner table.

"Zhang Cuihua is getting married?" Zhang Ni shook her head. She was determined to marry someone better than herself. Even if the other person had good conditions, as long as he was not from the city, Zhang Cuihua would probably not look down on him.

The driver was from the next village, and they all knew him. He was a capable man and good at everything.

But his grandparents were also partial to him. He didn't have a good life, and now that he has become successful, he has moved out a long time ago and lives alone at the foot of the village.

He could make money and buy a lot of good things while traveling, so he was naturally living a good life. But didn't Zhang's mother ever consider that the other party would be interested in Zhang Cuihua? It was decided just like that, and I'm afraid the other party didn't even know about it. It was just a one-sided decision.

"Don't go to Zhang Zhuangzhuang's house to play with him during this period. He can come to see you." Chen Xuyan instructed.

"Don't worry, I won't go. We always meet at the big stone pier." Zhang Cuihua's loud voice was really scary, and the look in her eyes when she looked at him was also very dark. Chen Jianyan felt that she wanted to eat him. She was no different from the witch in the fairy tales her father told her.

Children have a strong sense of good and evil.

Although he only went there once, Chen Jianyan felt that it was unforgettable enough.

"Qiaoqiao is a child who has had a hard time." When Zhang Ni thought of her, she thought of her past. But at least she had the love of her parents and grandfather. It made no difference whether this child had parents or not.

In the village, almost all children, unless they're from a family that favors boys over boys or is extremely poor, are persuaded by the village head to go to school. Learning to read is beneficial, after all. I heard that when she didn't go to junior high school, the principal tried to persuade her, but it was useless, saying her family couldn't afford it. Even when the principal offered to waive some tuition, Zhang's mother hesitated, and the matter was ultimately dropped.

But no one is blind. What Zhang Cuihua eats, wears and uses on a daily basis are all topics of conversation when she shows off. Anyone with eyes knows what's going on.

"Wife, I have something to tell you." Chen Xuyan glanced at Chen Jianyan who was still doing homework in the yard, turned around and called Zhang Ni.

Seeing Chen Xuyan's serious expression, she was a little stunned, "Okay."
