A fashion queen

Chapter 49 Forbidden Land

"Mom, I know Yuhang has helped us so much, and I really want to love him back, but lately I've been feeling increasingly powerless. I can't force myself to love him at all." Cui Xueying frowned, her eyes revealing a hint of confusion and helplessness. She bit her lip lightly and continued, "Every time I see him, I feel a mixture of emotions. Although I'm grateful for everything he's done, that feeling isn't love..."

Lin Ling stared at her daughter, trying to discern the answer from her expression. Her voice was tentative, "Daughter, do you...have a crush on someone?" She silently prayed that her daughter would be honest.

Cui Xueying's thoughts were suddenly interrupted, and the image of Mo Yunting instantly emerged in her mind. That handsome yet cold face appeared clearly before her, as if within reach. Her heartbeat involuntarily quickened a few beats, and an indescribable emotion surged within her. However, she quickly shook her head, trying to dismiss the thought. "No, how could that be possible?..."

She tried to convince herself, trying to deny the strange feelings that were welling up within her. Mo Yunting was a cold and heartless man. Their relationship existed solely because he had saved her, nothing more. He wasn't worthy of her true love, let alone the object of her affection. She squeezed her eyes shut, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself.

"Xueying, you haven't answered my question yet?" Lin Ling noticed the subtle changes on her daughter's face, especially the hesitation at that moment, which made her more convinced of her guess. She gently patted Cui Xueying's hand, encouraging her to open up.

Cui Xueying's eyes flickered, unsure how to respond to her mother's questioning. She didn't want to admit she had any special feelings for Mo Yunting, but she couldn't completely deceive her mother's sharp gaze. After a moment's silence, she finally spoke, "Mom, I really don't have anyone I like. Maybe it's just the pressure of work lately that's causing me to have these strange thoughts. Don't worry, I'll adjust my mindset." She forced a smile, hoping to reassure her mother.

"Mom, my daily life is just a straight line. I'm either at home or at the company. Do you think I still have a chance to meet other men?" She denied it firmly.

"But the expression on your face just now clearly told me that such a man does exist. Tell me, who is he? Do I know him?" She was determined to get to the bottom of it and would never let her daughter be deceived by others.

"Mom, I'm really tired. I just want to have a good sleep. You should go and rest too." Her mother's sudden question instantly made her panic and her thoughts confused. To escape these complicated emotions, she fled to her room without hesitation and quickly closed the door.

Lin Ling stared at her daughter's fleeing figure in surprise. She could even sense her daughter's state of mind quietly changing. So, who was the man who could cause her daughter to change like this?

"This place is really hard to find, but I finally found you." Song Yuhang had a serious expression on his face, staring sharply at Mo Yunting who came to open the door.

The moment Mo Yunting saw the person standing outside, his mouth tightened into a straight line. His eyes betrayed a hint of wariness and displeasure, as if his private territory had been invaded. "How did you know this place?" His voice was low and cold, carrying an indescribable majesty. This place held immense significance for Mo Yunting. It held the memories he and Yue'er shared, a pure land in his heart, a forbidden place that no one else could tread. However, he was deeply surprised that Song Yuhang had found this place.

Song Yuhang walked silently into the room, his eyes slowly scanning the surroundings, as if searching for something. When his gaze fell on the opened bottle of wine and a tall glass on the bar, he couldn't help but smile bitterly. He knew, of course, that Mo Yunting was drinking so early in the morning and was clearly in a very bad mood. Perhaps this was why he had been avoiding him.

"Xueying told me," Song Yuhang replied softly, a hint of helplessness in his tone. He knew this answer might cause Mo Yunting to be even more disgusted, but that was the truth. He chose not to hide it, because they needed to be honest with each other.
