Chapter 254: Going to the Hospital

Mo Yunting paused at the sound, slowly turning around and his gaze fell on Cui Xueying. At that moment, a flicker of surprise involuntarily crossed his eyes. Honestly, he had assumed Cui Xueying would choose to stay home, considering the potential risks of a hospital visit.

What he had never expected was that Cui Xueying would be so resolute, asking to go with him without hesitation. After a brief silence, Mo Yunting nodded slightly and said softly, "Okay, let's go together." His voice was as calm and steady as ever, but upon closer listening, there seemed to be a subtle hint of tenderness mixed in.

In fact, he knew very well in his heart that his grandfather had always liked Cui Xueying very much. If she was by his side, it might bring some spiritual comfort to his grandfather lying on the hospital bed.

Just like that, the two walked out of the luxurious villa side by side with firm steps. Then, they got into the black car, and with the deep and powerful roar of the engine, the car sped towards the hospital like an arrow from a bow.

The car sped along the road, the scenery along the way zipping past the windows like a rapidly switching slideshow. But Mo Yunting's mind was not on these beautiful views at all. His mind was filled with various worries and speculations about his grandfather's illness. He prayed silently, hoping that his grandfather would get through this difficult time.

Not long after, the car sped into the hospital. Mo Yunting, anxious and frantic, rushed to the ward where Grandpa Mo was with Cui Xueying.

As soon as they entered the room, they saw Grandpa Mo lying quietly on the hospital bed, his face as pale as paper. His frail appearance was heartbreaking. Mo Yunting felt his heart tighten, as if an invisible hand was clutching his heart, making it difficult for him to breathe.

Growing up, his grandfather had always been his most reliable support. No matter what difficulties he faced, he would always stand by him, silently supporting him. But now, his once energetic and robust grandfather lay here, so fragile. This was a scene Mo Yunting had never imagined. Especially after his father's passing, his mother and grandparents had become his only pillars of support, always caring for him with meticulous care. The sight of his grandfather's haggard face was like a sharp knife piercing his chest, the pain so severe that he could barely stand.

"Yun Duo, what's going on with grandpa? Why did the illness come so suddenly? Doesn't our grandpa go for a comprehensive physical examination on time every year?" Mo Yunting widened his eyes, his gaze as sharp as a sword, staring at his sister who was already crying beside the bed, his words full of anxiety and questioning.

"Brother, I'm sorry! This is all my fault. I made Grandpa so angry that he collapsed. I'm so sorry!" Mo Yunduo cried bitterly, tears streaming down her face like a flood, her voice choked with sobs, barely able to form complete sentences. She had never imagined that her momentary impulsiveness would lead to such serious consequences, and now her heart was filled with regret and self-blame.

"What's going on?" Mo Yunting frowned, his eyes fixed on his sister like an eagle. He knew that although his sister was a bit willful, she was definitely not the kind of person who would make Grandpa so angry that he had to be hospitalized!

At this moment, Mo Yunduo lowered her head, her shoulders trembling slightly, and intermittent sobs could be heard. She raised her head, looked at her brother with tearful eyes, and choked up as she told him everything that had happened.

Grandpa Mo had always hoped that Mo Yunduo would find a stable, nine-to-five job and live an ordinary, peaceful life. However, deep down, Mo Yunduo harbored a burning dream: to become a highly regarded singer. Her passion and dedication to music prevented her from complying with her grandfather's wishes. A heated argument ensued between the two. Seeing his granddaughter's stubbornness, Grandpa Mo grew increasingly agitated, and suddenly, his vision went dark, and he collapsed.

Mo Yunting listened quietly to his sister's story, the rage burning in his heart gradually subsiding. He sighed deeply, his gaze set on Mo Yunduo tenderly, and said softly, "This isn't entirely your fault. After all, everyone has the right to pursue what they truly want. However, the most urgent thing right now is to take good care of Grandpa and help him recover as soon as possible." He then reached out and gently patted Mo Yunduo's shoulder as a gesture of comfort.

Mo Yunduo nodded with tears in her eyes, "I understand, brother, I will take good care of grandpa." Her eyes were firm and full of determination.

Mo Yunting looked at his sister and couldn't help but feel a surge of pity in his heart. He knew that his sister's dream was not something that could be given up easily.
