Chapter 18 Meeting a Friend

Mo Yunting knew her feelings, yet he was determined to keep them buried. He must have felt she was a burden, and he didn't even want her to finish her words before he decisively cut off her affections.

Although the words had been spoken, Cui Ziyue's heart was broken. She turned around quickly, straightened her back, and said, "I understand what you mean. I'm sorry to have caused you trouble. This kind of thing will never happen again." Tears welled up in her eyes, as if they would burst at the next second. She tried hard to hold back the tears. As soon as she finished speaking, she ran away like a frightened deer, fearing that Mo Yunting would see the tears on her face.

What Cui Ziyue hadn't expected was her feelings for Mo Yunting. She didn't know when, but how could she have fallen so deeply in love with him? Was it because she was helpless in this world? Cui Ziyue, Cui Ziyue, you've experienced the baptism of two worlds, how could you lose faith in yourself like this? It was like what this world says, "a complete love-brain." She knew this wasn't good, so she had to pull away quickly to avoid getting sucked in deeper. He and she could only be friends, nothing more.

The moment she turned and left, Mo Yunting clearly saw two lines of tears on her face, which pierced his heart like a knife.

Whether his actions were right or wrong, even he himself was lost in confusion. His heart ached like a needle piercing his chest. How should he choose? Despite being an experienced director, no matter how many times he read the script, when the topic of love surfaced, he was still like a teenager entering society, completely clueless about how to explore his emotions.

The next day at noon, Mo Yunting met up with his best friend at a restaurant. A faint smile played on his lips, and he looked sexy and calm. His eyes were sharp as he scanned the restaurant for his target, then he strode over.

"Yuhang." He walked quietly behind the man and called his name.

"You're here." Song Yuhang raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a faint smile. The smile was as hazy as a veil, as if it would be blown away by the wind at any time.

Mo Yunting's brow furrowed slightly, his hawk-like gaze penetrating everything. With a single glance, he discerned the veiled sadness in his friend's eyes. He couldn't help but wonder, why was he, a newlywed, so melancholy?

"What's wrong with you? We've only been married a little over a month, why do you look so worried? Did something happen?" His face was serious, his concern evident. He was puzzled by the sadness that shrouded his friend like a haze.

"You... didn't you know that the bride ran away on the wedding day?" Song Yuhang's face turned pale as paper. His eyes were like being struck by lightning, staring straight ahead, as if he wanted to penetrate the person in front of him. He... he thought Mo Yunting knew about the farce at the wedding!

Getting married should be a joyous occasion, but his wedding turned into a nightmare. His bride ran away, the wedding was canceled, and he felt like a clown abandoned on stage, alone and helpless. For over a month, he'd been holed up in his home, feeling down and unhappy. It wasn't until Mo Yunting called him today that he finally mustered the energy to go out.

Mo Yunting's eyes widened, his face filled with disbelief. "I always thought you were married and that you'd be back from your honeymoon. That's why I asked you out today, hoping to wish you a happy wedding. But you told me your bride ran away. What's going on?"

"Such a big thing, and you know nothing about it!" Song Yuhang's voice was full of helplessness and surprise. He was like a teased bird. His bride's escape made him lose face, but what was even more worrying was that the bride's whereabouts were still unknown.

Mo Yunting had no choice but to tell him everything that happened on the day he returned home, leaving Song Yuhang in a state of confusion. "So for over a month now, you've been so busy with that amnesiac woman that you had no idea something so serious had happened to me."

"If I had known, I would have gone to comfort you long ago." Mo Yunting looked at him with a worried look on his face and asked softly, "Why did the bride run away from the wedding? Do you know the reason?"
