Chapter 113 What’s wrong with you?
A hint of doubt flashed across Mo Yunting's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by trust. He nodded in agreement. "Okay, we'll follow your instructions."
Mo Yunting and his men followed the mysterious man through a dark corridor and into an even more eerie and terrifying area. The mysterious man's steps were light, as if he knew the terrain like the back of his hand. Mo Yunting was secretly amazed, but at the same time, he also had more questions about the mysterious man's identity.
Led by the mysterious man, they arrived at an abandoned warehouse. The air was filled with dust, and the walls were covered with worn-out tools and ropes. Mo Yunting looked around, feeling a surge of unease.
"It doesn't look safe here," he whispered.
The mysterious man seemed not to hear his words and continued to walk forward. Mo Yunting hesitated for a moment, but decided to follow him. After all, this man was their only hope.
When they reached the end of the warehouse, the mysterious man stopped and pointed to a wall. "This is the exit."
Mo Yunting looked at the seemingly ordinary wall in surprise, unable to see anything special about it. "Are you sure?" he asked doubtfully.
The mysterious man nodded, then reached out and gently stroked the wall. As he moved, a faint light began to emanate from the wall, as if activated by energy. This light gradually expanded, illuminating the entire room. Then, the wall slowly opened, like a giant door, revealing a passage to the outside world. Pointing to a wall, the mysterious man said, "There's a secret door there. Go through it and you'll be able to leave."
Mo Yunting walked forward, carefully examining the wall. He gently touched the surface, feeling every tiny bump. After some effort, he finally found the switch for the secret door—a slightly raised brick. He pressed hard on it, and the secret door slowly opened, revealing a passage leading down.
The tunnel was pitch black, with only the faint light from the flashlight barely illuminating the path ahead. Mo Yunting and the mysterious man cautiously entered the tunnel, groping their way forward with the help of their flashlights. They had no idea where this tunnel would lead, but they believed that as long as they followed the mysterious man's guidance, they would be able to find a way out.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, a glimmer of light finally appeared ahead. Mo Yunting, delighted, quickened his pace, heading towards the light. When they emerged from the passage, a desolate courtyard appeared before them. The courtyard was overgrown with weeds, and the ground was covered with fallen leaves, giving it a very dilapidated appearance. But to Mo Yunting, this was already a safe place.
They successfully escaped danger. Mo Yunting looked back at the abandoned building, his heart filled with gratitude and confusion. Who was this mysterious man? Why did he help him? These questions lingered in his mind like a fog, confusing him. However, he didn't have time to ponder these questions at the moment, because he had more important things to do.
Mo Yunting turned to face the mysterious man and said sincerely, "Thank you for saving us. May I ask your name? If you need any help in the future, please feel free to come to me."
The mysterious man waved his hand and said calmly: "You're welcome, I just happened to pass by. I guess we may meet again soon." As soon as he finished speaking, he turned and left, disappearing into the night in the blink of an eye, like a ghost.
Mo Yunting gazed at his retreating figure, his mind brooding. After his men had rested, he led them out of this mysterious place. Along the way, the image of that mysterious man kept recurring in Mo Yunting's mind. He felt as if this person held a special interest in him, but he couldn't quite pinpoint why. This vague feeling filled him with both curiosity and unease.
"Yunting, what's wrong with you?" As soon as Cui Xueying opened the door, she saw Mo Yunting lying on the bed with a pale face. Worry and uneasiness welled up in her heart. She quickly stepped forward, staring intently at Mo Yunting, as if trying to see through his exterior to the pain deep within him.
Mo Yunting shook his head slightly, trying to hide his discomfort with a smile, but it seemed feeble. "I'm fine, just a little tired," he said softly, a hint of fatigue in his voice. He didn't want to overly worry Cui Xueying, especially at this moment; he preferred to bear this pain alone.
