Quickly Transmigrate to Save the Child of Heaven

Chapter 125: Longing for Xiangliu 2

When Tu Shanjing received the news, his heart sank. The news of Xiangliu's death hit him like a hammer. He knew that Xiangliu died to protect him and Xiaoyao, a favor he could never repay.

However, Tu Shanjing had a secret desire not to share this news with Xiaoyao. He knew Xiaoyao and Xiangliu had a deep bond, and if she learned of Xiangliu's death in battle, she would be heartbroken. He didn't want to see Xiaoyao suffer, preferring to bear this grief alone.

The little furball seemed to sense Xiangliu's misfortune and secretly left to search for Xiangliu's body. He didn't see the body, so he thought his master might have been rescued or was recovering somewhere. Tu Shanjing watched the little furball's retreating figure, a complex wave of emotions welling up in his heart. He envied Xiangliu for having such a loyal pet, and he also envied Xiaoyao's unwavering attachment to him.

Tu Shanjing stood alone, his mind racing. He recalled every detail of their acquaintance with Xiangliu, his heart filled with emotion. Xiangliu was a man of deep loyalty and righteousness, willing to sacrifice his life to protect him and Xiaoyao. Tu Shanjing secretly vowed to take good care of Xiaoyao and ensure her continued happiness, in order to repay Xiangliu's kindness.

Watching the light drizzle falling from the sky, as if also mourning Xiangliu's death, Tu Shanjing stood quietly in the rain, letting the rain soak his clothes. His eyes were firm and determined. He knew that he had to be strong, for Xiaoyao and for Xiangliu.

Seeing the rain falling, Feng Xi couldn't leave the cave, so she stayed embroidering in the cave while monitoring Xiangliu's condition. She'd taken Xiangliu's pulse today and found him feeling much better, though he still needed nourishment. So, she took out red dates, goji berries, codonopsis pilosula, and polygonum multiflorum, along with a magical chicken from the dimension, and placed them in a pot, simmering them over low heat. Feng Xi had lived in this cave for over a month since arriving in this world, with no chance to venture out. All day long, with no one to talk to, she felt incredibly bored. So, she retrieved needlework and crescent-colored brocade from the dimension, intending to make a few sets of clothes and shoes for Xiangliu. As she embroidered, she kept an eye on the chicken soup, occasionally adding a log to the fire. By the end of the morning, she had finished a coat and trousers embroidered with a laurel pattern and put the remaining fabric away. Next, she found some white silk and made two sets of underwear for Xiangliu. She stretched, feeling the soup was almost done, and set it aside. Feng Xi filled the wooden barrel with herbs and water as usual, then carefully placed Xiang Liu inside. She figured that by the time the soak was over, Xiang Liu would probably be awake. After all, a month had already passed, and she felt like she was about to grow mushrooms. If it weren't for the little system occasionally chatting with her to relieve her boredom, she would have probably gone mad.

Feng Xi stared intently at the wooden barrel, watching the steaming vapor rise continuously. Xiang Liu's fair skin gradually turned red, like a steamed lobster. Suddenly, Xiang Liu's eyes fluttered open. He looked around in confusion, bewildered by this unfamiliar cave, and even more bewildered by the woman standing before him.

At this moment, Xiangliu suddenly realized that he might have been rescued. So he opened his mouth, wanting to thank the strange woman in front of him, but found that he couldn't say a word. His throat was dry and unbearable, as if it was smoking.

Seeing this, Feng Xi hurriedly picked up a bowl of hot soup, brought it to Xiang Liu's mouth, and poured it into his mouth without hesitation. Yes, you heard it right, pour it into his mouth! In the past month, Feng Xi has long been accustomed to this way of feeding soup. However, Xiang Liu was stunned for a moment, completely at a loss.

After a while, Xiangliu finally came to his senses and said with difficulty: "Thank you for saving me..."

Feng Xi had a faint smile on her face and said, "How are you going to repay me? In order to save you, I have used up all the elixirs handed down from my family, as well as countless precious treasures! Tell me, how are you going to repay me?" After she finished speaking, she stared at the other person closely, as if waiting for a satisfactory answer.

Xiangliu was silent for a moment, then replied: "When I return to the clan, I will do my best to find it and then return it to you. As for your ancestral elixir, don't worry, as long as Xiangliu has it, I will give it to you." His voice was low and firm, revealing a convincing power.

Feng Xi was stunned after hearing Xiangliu's words, but she did not show it. Instead, she continued to ask, "Then what can you give me now?" She looked directly at Xiangliu without any concealment, as if she wanted to see through his heart.

Xiangliu's face flushed red as Fengxi stared at him. He felt the woman before him was incredibly bold, daring to look at him so brazenly. Furthermore, it was obvious that she had helped him take off his clothes. Even when he'd been taking the medicinal bath recently, it must have been this frail woman who had taken care of him. Thinking of this, Xiangliu felt a surge of gratitude, realizing how much he truly owed her.

Xiang Liu: "I wonder what the lady wants? If there is anything you need Xiang Liu to help you with in the future, I will do my best to help you!"

Feng Xi's lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile. She then turned, the bowl tightly clasped in her hand, and walked lightly towards the river. At this moment, the man had awakened, meaning she could no longer use the space. From now on, all food and daily necessities would have to be purchased or foraged in this vast mountain forest. She did not want to challenge human nature lightly, even though she had the ability.

Xiangliu watched the woman walk out without answering him, so he stood up from the wooden barrel. He picked up the towel on the edge of the wooden barrel and wiped his body. Water droplets slid down his strong muscles like crystal clear gems. After he dried his body, he found a set of clothes neatly placed on the bed. He thought it should be prepared by the girl who saved him just now. He picked up the clothes and looked at them carefully. It was a set of crescent-colored brocade embroidered with exquisite laurel patterns, which were lifelike, like flowers blooming in the moonlight. When he put on the clothes, he found that they fit him very well, as if they were tailor-made for him. Thinking of this, he couldn't help blushing. When Feng Xi returned to the cave, she saw Xiangliu sitting by the bed wearing the clothes she made by herself. She kept looking at him and nodding, and a sense of pride and satisfaction surged in her heart. She felt that her craftsmanship was really good. Looking at Xiangliu wearing her clothes, she really looked like a handsome man.

Feng Xi put down the bowl and chopsticks, stood up and said, "Since you are awake, let's go find some food. There is not much food left in the cave."

Upon hearing this, Xiang Liu quickly stood up and followed Feng Xi out to look for food. He watched Feng Xi expertly navigate the woods and couldn't help but ask curiously, "I haven't asked for your name yet, young lady?"

Feng Xi turned around and replied calmly: "Feng Xi..."

Xiangliu then introduced himself: "My name is Xiangliu..."

Feng Xi nodded, indicating that she understood. While continuing to look for food, she said to Xiang Liu, "I know, you used to be a nine-headed monster, but now you have only one..." Xiang Liu felt embarrassed when he heard Feng Xi's straightforward evaluation.
