The 1970s: Military Family Beauty

Chapter 78: Hands off the shopkeeper

Hu Xiuqing had just gone to the home of a fellow villager named Wang Chunhua to complain to her about the troubles her mother-in-law and sister-in-law had brought her.

Wang Chunhua followed Hu Xiuqing's words and added fuel to the fire, successfully fanning Hu Xiuqing's anger into a big fire. She went home and took out her anger on her family.

"I gave birth to a big fat son for you and raised him to be plump and strong. Do you ever thank me for my kindness? Has your family ever thanked me for my kindness? You don't even thank me for my kindness, and you think I'm inferior!" Hu Xiuqing was furious at what she had just heard and cursed loudly, "You have no conscience! I almost died when I gave birth to my son! If I had died, Qingqing would have been a motherless child. If you find him a stepmother, how pitiful he would have been!"

As she spoke, Hu Xiuqing excitedly hugged Jiang Guoqing and burst into tears: "My poor Qing!"

Jiang Guoqing pursed his lips, wanting to cry but with no tears, and just kept blinking his eyes.

On the way home, his mother told him that if she cried, he had to cry too, and that way they would win and she would buy him something delicious.

However, the moment he returned home and saw his sisters at the door, he wanted to join them.

How could he choose between his sister and candy and snacks? Jiang Guoqing could only wail, "Mom, woo woo woo."

Jiang Dapeng knew Hu Xiuqing's personality too well. Normally, he would just turn around and leave. But now that his mother and sister were there, he was eager to suppress Hu Xiuqing's unreasonable behavior: "Who said anything about you? You're the loudest person in this family!"

Originally, there were people in the room, some working, some helping, all chatting and laughing happily. He had been thinking of finding an opportunity to tell Hu Xiuqing about the changes in his daughter.

Hu Xiuqing immediately stopped crying and said through gritted teeth, "What's wrong with my loud voice? I have nothing to hide. I dare to say whatever I want! I'm not like your mother who says one thing to your face and another behind your back!"

These words hit Jiang Dapeng so hard that he was stunned. "What did my mother say? Is my mother that kind of person? She said you were so busy that you left early and came back late, and she didn't even have a chance to talk to you when you came!"

Hu Xiuqing insisted that she had said it: "So what if she didn't talk to me? I heard her talking to you. Don't think I couldn't hear it. She was just saying bad things about my family!!"

There's not even a specific reason.

Jiang Dapeng laughed in anger and sneered, "You are framing a good person! You are making a mistake!"

Hu Xiuqing calmly pulled out her trump card and cursed back: "If you hadn't made a mistake, would I have married you?"

"You!" Jiang Dapeng was so angry that the veins on his forehead popped out and he raised his hand to slap.

Hu Xiuqing pressed forward: "You still want to hit me? Go ahead! Go ahead! I'll see if you make another mistake!"

Her smug expression seemed extremely hideous and hateful to Jiang Dapeng. Rage rose in his heart, and he became so angry that he slapped her with a crisp "pa" sound.

Hu Xiuqing was stunned for a moment, then stretched out his hands like a madman and started smashing Jiang Dapeng wildly, swearing at him.

This noise is comparable to the sound of demolishing a house. Not only can people in the living room hear it, but people outside can also hear it.

Jiang Furong’s first reaction was “Let them fight.”

She couldn't control how the fight went, and no one could control it. Hu Xiuqing had gone mad, and anyone who tried to stop the fight would be stabbed.

Leaving the battlefield is the best option - adults fighting will definitely scare the children. With this kind of family atmosphere, who would be willing to leave the child to her?

Jiang Furong picked up Xiao Baoying, put him in the stroller and pushed him to the kitchen. She quickly and simply told Jiang Xiaocui, "Aunt, let's go to the service center through the back door now. I'll go tell grandma."

Without saying a word, Jiang Xiaocui immediately hung a tarp on the car to block the wind. Looking into Xiao Baoying's big eyes, Jiang Xiaocui suppressed her anger, forced a smile and teased Xiao Baoying: "Let's go for a walk on the street."

Jiang Furong went back to the house to get a scarf, then took the trembling Grandma Jiang to the kitchen. She waved for the bewildered Jiang Zhaohui to come over to the kitchen as well, and said to them, "Grandma, watch the fire. No matter how bad it gets, don't go over there. Zhaohui, stay with Grandma and cook."

Jiang Zhaohui asked blankly: "Sister, what about you?"

"I'll take Xiao Baoying home and be back soon." Jiang Furong simply instructed her sister: "You stay with grandma to watch the stove and help add some firewood when needed."

Jiang Zhaohui nodded, still panicking: "Oh!"

"Just close the kitchen door..." Before Jiang Furong could finish her words, she heard a loud slap, followed by even more earth-shaking wails and curses.

Grandma Jiang wanted to intervene, her breathing unsteady and her voice trembling: "I'll go over and take a look."

"You can go out later when the neighbors come." Jiang Furong helped her grandmother sit firmly on the bench and instructed her sister again: "Zhaohui, if someone knocks on the door, go open it."

After saying that, Jiang Furong opened the back door and walked out, closing the door behind her.

In this family, everyone is important.

The only thing you can do is stay away from those madmen who have lost their minds. Save as many as you can.

Jiang Xiaocui saw Jiang Furong coming out and asked nervously, "My brother hasn't come out yet?"

Jiang Furong shook her head: "They're fighting again."

Jiang Xiaocui wanted to go back and break up the fight: "Qingqing was scared."

"Don't go!" Jiang Furong grabbed Jiang Xiaocui and said, "The closer you and grandma get, the more excited she'll be."

Jiang Xiaocui understood instantly: "Yes, it was called for me and my mom to see."

Jiang Xiaocui had experience in this matter. She had fought and scolded her ex-husband before. She originally wanted to vent her anger on her mother-in-law by scolding her husband, but when she saw her husband's reaction, she became really angry and started fighting.

"My mom must be so pissed off listening to this." Jiang Xiaocui was worried just thinking about it, and even more angry: "My brother is such a coward!"

Jiang Furong didn't comment, but wrapped her scarf tightly around her and spoke to Xiao Baoying through the tarpaulin: "Xiao Baoying, do you want to go home?"

It was very cold outside and she was afraid that the children would catch a cold.

Xiao Baoying asked through the rain cloth: "I don't want to go home. I want to go out and play."

Jiang Furong looked around and saw that there were people living in the row of houses behind her. Fortunately, no one opened the door and the alley was very quiet.

"How about we carry him down and run for a while?" Jiang Furong asked Jiang Xiaocui, "We can just play in the open space next to us. If there's any noise at home, we can go back right away. If anyone asks, just say that Xiao Baoying is not home and we brought him back."

Jiang Xiaocui immediately did as she was told and took the child out: "Little Baoying, let's run on the brick floor. The mud is dirty over there."

Jiang Furong let out a long sigh and watched Jiang Xiaocui running away with Xiao Baoying. She herself looked through the gap in the courtyard gate and paid attention to the movements at home.

The kitchen window faces the backyard. Although the light in the kitchen is darker than outside and she can't see clearly what Grandma Jiang and Jiang Zhaohui are doing, she sees that the glass suddenly lights up.

This is Jiang Chaohui opening the door and going out.

somebody is coming!
