The smoke cleared, and an armored general limped over and extended his hand to Alvin.

Alvin took his hand and stood up.

"I am Hans, commander of the Alterac Kingdom's army," the general introduced himself. "Thank you for your assistance, Mr. Alvin Priest. I just heard your name from the mouth of that shameful Duke Falkures. Praise the Holy Light! It is you who have protected the Kingdom of Alterac."

General Hans turned and brought the queen over from behind the throne.

The queen cried and thanked them: "Thank you, Mr. Irving. You have saved this country."

"This is what we should do, Your Majesty. For the future of Alterac, we are willing to give everything." Alvin said humbly.

"Where is Duke Falcules?"

Suddenly, Alvin remembered the culprit and asked anxiously.

General Hans sighed and said, "While you were fighting the ogre, he escaped and we were powerless to pursue him."

Alvin was very angry that he had let the culprit go, and he wanted to run after that guy.

But at this moment, there was a loud shout outside, and the guards thought there was danger, so they raised their weapons and prepared to fight.

After a while, a red-haired elf rushed in with a group of people. It was MacLox. The red-haired elf also had blood on his face and bruises on his body.

Mylox panted and said, "Don't worry, everyone. Under the leadership of Duke Ravenholdt, we have already wiped out the Syndicate's lair. The sewers have been controlled, and all the thieves have either been captured or fled south."

Everyone finally felt relieved, however, before one wave of trouble subsided, another wave of trouble arose, and a huge noise was heard outside again.

Someone outside was shouting, "Let the Queen of Alterac and Commander Hans come out and talk!"

The crowd escorted the queen out of the palace and found that it was Baggio, the mayor of Tarren Mill, who had arrived. Behind him was a group of Tarren Mill militiamen, all armed and in neat uniforms.

Alvin thought to himself that something was wrong, as he knew that Mayor Baggio also had ambitions for Alterac.

Now that everyone is fighting and both sides are hurt, could it be that he wants to take advantage of the situation and reap the benefits?

The militia of Tarren Mill were well-organized. Each of them wore simple but sturdy armor, held a spear and a shield, and had a serious and determined expression.

When Mayor Baggio saw that the queen and General Hans were still alive, he jumped off his horse and walked over quickly.

He had a false smile on his face and a complicated glint in his eyes.

"I'm here to rescue you," Mayor Baggio said. He turned to look at Alvin and asked curiously, "Why is Mr. Priest here too?"

Irwin replied, "I received word that Duke Farkures was rebelling. I happened to be nearby, so I came to help."

"That's right! It was Mr. Priest's courage and the power of the Holy Light that saved us. The Kingdom of Alterac will never forget your kindness."

The queen nodded in agreement, tears of gratitude glistening in her eyes.

"Although we are badly damaged now, we can still fight." General Hans continued, his words were threatening, obviously a warning to Mayor Baggio.

Mayor Baggio sneered and said, "Of course I am. I am also worried, so I brought a team to rescue them."

Alvin looked around, his eyes falling on the people covered in wounds and groaning in pain.

A strong feeling of pity surged in his heart. He took a deep breath and said firmly, "Let me try."

He selected the "Halo" skill icon in his mind.

He chanted an unknown spell, his body slowly floated up, and a halo spread out from under his feet to the surroundings.

Wherever the halo goes, the air is filled with warm light, as if the whole world is shrouded in holy light.

After being covered by the halo, everyone felt a warm power, their wounds healed quickly, and their tired bodies regained vitality.

The Queen and General Hans showed expressions of surprise and joy on their faces, and the militia of Tarren Mill also showed expressions of awe.

"A miracle! This is a miracle! Long live the Kingdom of Alterac! Long live the Holy Light! Long live the Miracle Priest!"

The people around were shouting and praying, thanking this sudden miracle. The faces of the crowd, young and old, were filled with excitement.

Hans pulled Alvin through the crowd and onto the stage. He shouted to the crowd, "Let us thank Alvin Priest, the miracle priest, the savior of Alterac, and the spokesperson for the Holy Light!"

The crowd burst into even louder cheers, and the applause resounded like thunder through the sky.

Alvin stood on the high platform, feeling the enthusiasm around him, and a strong sense of mission inexplicably surged in his heart. He suddenly thought that perhaps this was the purpose of Archbishop Fao sending him all the way south.

"Thank you, everyone," Alvin said loudly.

"This is the power of Holy Light, and it is our shared faith that makes all this possible. We must unite and continue to protect our homeland and resist the invasion of darkness."

"Long live the Holy Light! Long live Alterac!"

The boiling crowd was excited, and the troops led by Mayor Scarlock Baggio seemed like a small boat in the ocean among the roaring crowd.

Their arrival did not attract much attention, but was drowned out by the cheers.

Skarlock smiled awkwardly, walked forward, and found Alvin among the cheering crowd.

Finally, he saw Alvin standing on the platform, talking with General Hans.

"Mr. Priest!" Mayor Skarlock called out, trying to get his attention.

Alvin heard the shouting and turned around to see Mayor Skarlock walking towards him.

"Glad to see you're okay."

Mayor Scarlock said, "Alyssa is still at home and she's worried about you. Go back and see her later!"

"Thank you, Mayor. Your daughter has helped me a lot."

As Alvin was speaking, he suddenly felt Valeera tugging at his sleeve.

He looked back and saw Valeera winking at him, signaling him to look into the distance.

Alvin followed her gaze and found the red-haired elf Mylox waving outside the crowd, as if signaling them to come over.

Alvin turned around and said goodbye to everyone, saying that he still had some things to deal with, and then he and Valeera squeezed out of the crowd.

Before leaving, General Hans grabbed him and asked him to remember to come back to attend the victory banquet.

Alvin nodded and said he would definitely come back.

After finally squeezing out, Alvin was already out of breath.

Mylox smiled and said, "It seems being a celebrity is tough. The Duke is waiting for you in the sewers. He said there's something you might be interested in."

Alvin became interested as soon as he heard it and quickly followed Malox.

Under his guidance, they entered the underground through a manhole cover and moved forward in the dim light through twists and turns.

The underground road system is complex and tortuous, like a maze.

Finally, they came to a spacious hall where Lord Jorachi Ravenholdt was waiting for them.

"This was originally a cave in the Alterac Mountains, and was later used as an underground drainage system."

Qiao Laqi explained, "This place is easy to defend but difficult to attack. If Duke Fakures hadn't felt certain of victory and sent out all his forces, we would have had a hard time breaking in."

Alvin nodded in agreement, then asked, "Why don't you go up and join the celebration?"

Qiao Laqi smiled slightly.

"A thief, going up there to attend the celebration? We live in the shadows and don't like to show up in the light. Our mission is to guard in the dark and ensure everything goes smoothly."

He then said, "However, I believe there is something here that may interest you."

After saying that, he took out a strange object from his arms and handed it to Alvin.

Alvin took it and examined it carefully. It was an ancient book, engraved with mysterious runes and patterns, emitting a faint light. The cover of the book was written in orcish language: "Shadow Power Book".
