The icy energy in Stella's hand solidified as if it were a physical substance, causing the temperature inside the passage to drop sharply.

She stood side by side with Alvin, the two of them flanking her in the narrow passage.

"Is everything done?"

"Of course, it's a piece of cake."

Karedis looked at the two people in front of him who were still chatting and felt a headache coming on.

That strange human alone was already troublesome; Kaledis had never seen a priest with such masterful and experienced combat skills who could simultaneously wield holy light and shadow with such proficiency.

Now, there's also a mage with a profound understanding of arcane magic who just easily cracked his carefully laid trap.

His expression shifted between anger and uncertainty, his mind racing. He knew that in such unfavorable terrain, a direct confrontation would only lead to certain death.

"Hmph! Damn invaders... You think this is the end of it?"

Karedis's growl was somewhat blustering, but his feet still honestly shifted back slightly.

"His Highness will not let you get away with this! You have no idea what you're doing!"

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly pointed his staff backward and vanished.

Flash!

The next moment, he appeared at the corner of the passage twenty yards away, instantly creating distance between himself and the two.

"You will regret it!"

He turned around and screamed in a venomous voice, a gloating expression on his face.

"Do you think shutting down the barrier stones is saving anyone? Foolish! You have no idea what shutting down these barrier stones means! You're digging your own grave! Soon, you'll reap what you sow! Hahahaha..."

Karedis's maniacal laughter quickly faded into the distance, and his figure vanished completely into the darkness deep within the passage, leaving only his vicious curse echoing in the air.

Seeing the mayor flee, Stella dispelled the icy energy in her hands, frowning slightly as she looked at Elwin: "What did he mean? Reap what you sow? Besides weakening the defenses here, what other consequences could there be from closing the barrier stone?"

Alvin stared calmly in the direction the mayor had disappeared, his face showing little surprise.

He pondered for a moment, then slowly said, "I can roughly guess what he means. These barrier stones are probably not just for protecting the Syndra elves from outside disturbances or dividing areas. They likely have a more important function."

He turned his head and looked at Stella.

“Trap that hellhound, Imhotep.”

Stella's blue eyes widened slightly: "You mean, if we unlock all the barrier stones, the imprisoned demon will break free?!"

Alvin nodded.

“Yes, but I think this is just right. It saves us the trouble of searching for it. Since it is the source of Tosedrin’s power, sending it back to the void will greatly weaken the prince’s power. It’s a permanent solution, uprooting it completely.”

His words were full of confidence, as if what was about to be freed was not a powerful demon, but merely an obstacle that needed to be removed.

Stella was starting to believe him, after all, she had witnessed his amazing skills along the way.

After a short rest and confirming that there were no new traps ahead, the two continued along the winding downward passage.

As the two approached the end of the passage, they could faintly hear a muffled sound like the beating of a giant heart coming from outside, and the stench of fish and arcane dust in the air grew stronger.

Stella waved her little hand in front of her nose.

"My God, this stinks! Does this prince just keep that monster here?"

"It seems so, the flavor is indeed quite strong."

Alvin laughed and said that he knew dragons had a sense of smell many times stronger than humans. If he smelled this bad, Stella's sense of smell must be even stronger.

When they finally emerged from the passage, a magnificent yet eerie underground hall appeared before them.

The hall is perfectly circular, enormous in size, with a soaring dome that disappears into deep darkness.

The entire hall is clearly divided into an outer area and an inner area.

The outer area was a wide, circular platform with faintly glowing magic circle patterns on its surface.

Looking around, on opposite sides of the circular platform, stood the last two enormous arcane barrier stones, like the last two gateposts, radiating a strong purple light.

Beside each barrier stone, several magical constructs shimmering with dangerous arcane light patrolled and guarded the area, creating an atmosphere of chilling menace.

The outer ring and the central area are roughly separated by several huge stone pillars, each requiring several people to encircle, and carved with ancient elven runes.

A semi-transparent, dark purple energy shield, like an inverted giant bowl, completely isolated the central area.

Through that unstable energy shield, the scene inside could be clearly seen—there lay a huge figure, as large as a small mountain!

It was Imhotep, the giant hellhound that was imprisoned!

Its massive body was covered in rough, dark red skin that looked as if it were burning, with bulging muscles that exuded explosive power. Two ferocious canine heads drooped on its huge forepaws, seemingly in a deep sleep.

Even in their sleep, they occasionally emit low snores and emit visible specks of shadow energy from their nostrils.

Twisted bone spurs grew on its back, and a thick tail swept the ground unconsciously, causing the entire hall to tremble slightly with each movement.

A dense, almost tangible fel energy emanated from its body, swirling like green smoke within the energy shield—the very source of power that Prince Torsedrin had drawn upon over millennia!

Both of them fell into a brief silence, their faces filled with undisguised shock.

Stellagoth gasped involuntarily.

As a blue dragon, she had a clear understanding of her own dragon form, a magnificence that was beyond the reach of ordinary creatures.

However, the body of the hellhound in front of her was like a dark red mountain range, and its enormous size far exceeded her fully revealed dragon form!

The bulging muscles, the two heads that resembled small hills, and the terrifying presence that emanated even in its slumber, seemingly capable of crushing space, instantly made her realize that the monster's size was probably approaching the level of the legendary guardian dragon!

"Alvin..."

Stella's voice was dry, a quality she herself wasn't even aware of. She instinctively grabbed the arm of the person next to her.

"Do we...do we really want to release it? I admit you're strong, but isn't this a bit too risky?"

Her concerns are understandable.

Unleashing and confronting a deep-sea demon whose size rivals that of a guardian dragon sounds more like a crazy suicide plan.

Alvin also recovered from his initial shock.

"Damn! I never said this guy was this big! He's almost as big as Deathwing!"

He licked his slightly dry lips.

"It certainly exceeded my initial expectations."

However, when he turned to look at Stella, that confident smile, which was both roguish and incredibly reliable, reappeared on his face.

"Nothing."

He drew out his words, flexed his wrist, and the Naaru Beacon in his hand seemed to sense its master's fighting spirit, emitting a soft, resonant hum.

"We're already here, we can't just turn around and run away because we're scared of this big guy, can we? That would be too embarrassing."

"Being large doesn't mean it's invincible. It has been imprisoned for ten thousand years, so its strength may not be at its peak. Moreover, with the right strategy, we can find its weaknesses."

Elwin said, "I'm still confident I can kick it back to its proper place in the void."

He patted Stella's hand, which was still tightly gripping his arm, his tone relaxed yet carrying an undeniable authority: "Don't worry, Miss Bodyguard. If things get awkward later, I'll allow you to run first. But before that, I need you to help me clear out these troublesome guards and barrier stones outside. After all, if you want to beat up the BOSS, you have to clear out the mobs first, right?"

Hearing Alvin's familiar tone and feeling the confidence in his words that she couldn't quite understand, Stella's panic was strangely dispelled.

She released his hand, gave a soft hum, and tried to regain her composure: "Who, who asked for your permission first! Just make sure you don't get swallowed whole by that big dog! These guards... I'll take care of them!"
