The biting cold wind whistled across Akalitrassa's massive crimson scales, making a sharp hissing sound like a blade scraping across metal. Every steady and powerful flap of her broad, powerful dragon wings swept up large waves of snow from the ice field below, like swishing scorching brushstrokes on an endless white canvas.

Clinging to Akalitrasza's warm scales near the base of her neck, the smoothest and wind-lightest part of the red dragon's back, Alvin took in the breathtaking panorama of Winterspring whizzing by below.

The world is ruled by pure ice and snow. The rolling mountains are like ancient beasts covered in thick ice armor, sleeping silently under the eternal white curtain.

The sunlight poured down unhindered, illuminating the deep snow covering the ground as if it were covered with billions of tiny diamonds, reflecting a dazzling and pure light.

The huge glacier is like a solidified blue river, winding between the mountains. A faint cold light, as if from ancient times, can be seen from deep in the ice.

The coniferous forests were bent down by the thick snow, forming strange, furry white mushroom clouds.

Occasionally, frozen streams can be seen, like silver ribbons inlaid on the snowy plains, or huge, hideous icicles hang from the cliffs like the fangs of an ice dragon. The extreme cold and grandeur intertwine to form an ice kingdom that is both deadly and full of primitive power.

Alvin wrapped his fur monster jacket tightly around him and turned to look at his two Kaldorei companions who were also shocked by the scene before them.

His voice needed to be raised a few notches amidst the howling wind.

"Such a harsh environment...would your fellow Kaldorei really live here for a long time?"

Shandris adjusted the huge hood that was blown by the wind and almost covered her face, revealing her sharp eyes.

Her eyes swept across the frozen ground below.

"Here, Alvin,"

Her voice penetrated the wind, clear and steady.

"We have reached the edge of Mount Hyjal. For all pilgrims heading towards the World Tree Nordrassil with awe, Winterspring is a must-go place and the last and most important supply station."

She pointed to the distant, looming outlines of towering mountains shrouded in even thicker cold fog and eternal snow.

"Therefore, in the area near the pass to the Holy Mountain, there are still our outposts and our tenacious people settled. They have adapted to the severe cold and guard the pass leading to the Holy Mountain."

Her voice lowered as she thought back to the past.

"And in a distant era, before the Sundering... this icy land was once the prosperous territory of the ancient elven kingdom. But that catastrophe... tore the land apart, burying its glory. Many ancient elven cities and palaces are now buried deep beneath thick layers of ice and snow, leaving only a few legends and... scattered ruins."

At this moment, the green shadow, who had been quietly enjoying the rhythm of nature, suddenly leaned forward slightly, pointed to a vast area below, which was shimmering with a strange blue light in the sunlight, and said, "Look! Down there! That's Lake Kaeslir! I used to play here when I was a child!"

Alvin followed her lead and saw a huge lake covered with thick ice.

Unlike the dazzling reflections of the surrounding snowfields, the ice on the lake surface presents a deep, quiet sapphire blue, like a huge sapphire inlaid on white velvet.

The ice layer is not completely flat. You can see huge ice cracks that spread like spider webs, as well as some strange icicles that stand like crystal sculptures.

The sunlight shines through the clear ice, and you can even vaguely see the dark, deep lake water below, and... some huge, blurry shadow outlines like building ruins, lying quietly at the bottom of the lake, telling the ancient years frozen in time.

"Lake Kaeslir..."

Alvin repeated the name in a low voice, and an idea suddenly flashed in his mind!

He remembered what Farah had said when he summoned the Banshee at Twilight Camp - "I have a few old friends who seem to live near Lake Keslir!"

"and many more!"

Alvin immediately took out the warm moonstone from his arms and woke up Farah.

A soft white light lit up on the red dragon's broad back, and the translucent figure of the banshee Farah Starwish, woven by moonlight, took shape again.

"Alvin! What dirty corner needs this Archmage...Wa ...

Farah appeared gracefully, and before she could finish her habitual complaint, she was so shocked by the scene before her that she let out a scream that was not befitting of a ghost!

She subconsciously tried to grab something to steady the spirit, but her illusory hand went straight through Akalitassa's scales.

Only then did she realize that she was not floating on the solid ground, but suspended on the back of a living, high-speed flying red dragon!

Below is a dizzying world of ice and snow passing by at high speed!

After a brief moment of panic, Farah's deep blue eyes were instantly filled with huge, fanatical starlight, like a girl seeing her idol!

She completely forgot her self-righteous status and excitedly floated around Alvin several times, her illusory long skirt and long hair dancing wildly in the airflow created by the dragon's wings.

"Dragon Knight!"

Farah's voice rose an octave, filled with incredible excitement and admiration, her ethereal voice cracking a little.

"You're actually a dragon rider! Oh my god! Alvin rides such a majestic, powerful, and... dazzling scarlet dragon! Soaring over the peaks of ice and snow! Such spirit! Such grace! This is the legendary figure worthy of being followed by Archmage Farah Starwish! I knew it! My vision is never wrong! Following you is truly the wisest decision I've made in my long life! Oh! This is so romantic! So epic!"

She held her hands to her heart, looking like a completely conquered nymphomaniac, with all her previous cleanliness and arrogance gone.

Alvin was a little embarrassed by Farah's sudden "fanatic fan" status, especially the playful look from Shantis next to him.

He coughed dryly. "Ahem, Ms. Farah, calm down. We summoned you to ask about Lake Kaeslir. You mentioned before that you have friends living nearby?"

"Lake Keslir?"

Farah was stunned, her infatuated state was instantly interrupted.

She looked down in confusion, and when the vast icy lake, as deep as a sapphire, came into her deep blue eyes, her spirit suddenly trembled! All the excitement and enthusiasm receded like the tide, replaced by a deep gaze filled with endless sadness and nostalgia.

"Kaeslir..."

She murmured to herself, her ethereal eyes seemed to reflect the ancient city that was silent under the ice.

"Yeah...Kaeslir...my friends...are they still there?"

Her gaze became distant and blurred, as if she had penetrated the thick ice and saw the vague shadows at the bottom of the lake.

"Ice Lady Esla... Lake Singer Movier... and those mischievous water elementals... are they... still there?"

She raised her head and looked at Alvin. The infatuation in her dark blue eyes was gone, leaving only a solemnity that was almost pleading: "Alvin, can...can you land? Close to that lake...I want...I want to see...even if it's just to feel their remaining breath..."

Seeing Farah's unprecedented sorrow and earnestness, Alvin didn't hesitate at all and immediately patted Akali's warm and solid scales. "Akali! Lower your altitude! Target, the edge of Lake Kaesrir!"

"Roar--!"

Akali Tasha let out a long roar that shook the ice valley in response.

Her huge head tilted slightly downward, her scarlet wings adjusted their angles gracefully, and her massive body began to hover and lower its altitude with astonishing agility.

The dragon's hot breath occasionally spurted out, leaving long white steam trails in the cold air.

The sapphire ice lake below rapidly enlarged in the field of vision.

The strange patterns on the ice, the huge cracks, and the icicles that resembled a crystal forest all became clearly visible.

An even more biting chill, as if capable of freezing the soul, rose from the lake. Even with Akalitrassa's body temperature and thick cotton jackets, everyone felt the chill.
