Chapter 344 Ogre's Challenge
A few minutes later, Alvin and Green Shadow were already walking up the stairs to the third floor.
A large number of orcs gathered in this base. These big guys, frightened by the fire of dragons and phoenixes, were crowded in, holding heavy spears and axes in their hands, but they did not dare to rush up to face Alvin.
Many of them had escaped from the last battle at the Dark Portal and had witnessed with their own eyes how the mysterious "Shadow Caster" wiped out a large tribal force in an instant.
Most of these greenskins were injured and bandaged with rags. Some of them had severe burns and their fighting spirit was visibly low.
Alvin didn't want to dwell on the soldiers.
"Those who want to die, come up! Those who don't want to die, get out of the base, throw away your weapons, kneel on the ground and surrender to the Alliance!"
He waved the Xal'atath in his hand, and the sharp shadow energy raged in the dim hall, and the temperature inside seemed to drop by several degrees.
Finally, the orcs could no longer withstand Alvin's intimidation. They shouted, threw down their weapons and ran out.
When passing by Alvin, I wanted to move closer to the wall, for fear that this scary guy would melt me with that weird magic.
Alvin's deterrent power is comparable to Gul'dan's back then, and even has the potential to surpass it...
The similarity between them is that they were both merciless when slaughtering orcs, but Gul'dan still wanted to use the tribe and killed people just to establish his authority; while Alwyn was fighting and had no psychological burden when killing.
"Why are these people so afraid of you?"
Green Shadow's eyes were filled with disbelief. The Kaldorei had expected a fierce battle and had already made preparations for it. But the orcs' surrender at the first sign of danger really surprised her.
Alvin shrugged.
"Who knows? Maybe they were scared by the previous battles. But it's better this way. It saves a lot of trouble."
The space inside the base was not small. If the orcs relied on the terrain to resist, Alvin would probably have to work hard. Now, they reached the third floor without any effort, and both of them felt relieved.
The stairs spiraled up along the wall, which had many windows, probably where the guards shot arrows.
Alvin looked out from a window, which was high up and could see almost most of the fortress.
At this moment, Danas and his cavalry boys had stopped charging, and were slowly driving a large number of surrendered orcs to a square in the city.
In the distance, the Alliance's sword and shield flags can be seen fluttering in the wind. It should be that Turalyon has entered the city and is fighting fiercely with some die-hard elements who are resisting stubbornly.
The sound of metal colliding, flesh and blood bursting, and all kinds of sounds of people neighing and horses roaring, the sound could even reach Alvin.
The little red dragon was still hovering overhead, constantly monitoring the movements in various parts of the fortress.
At this point, things have basically been settled, except for the ogre magician upstairs.
After defeating the ogre and finding out the whereabouts of Ner'zhul and the black dragons, this mission is successfully completed.
Thinking of this, Alvin's cheeks became hot, and the magic power in his body seemed to flow much faster. He unconsciously quickened his pace. The green shadow following closely behind Alvin seemed to feel his master's mood and clenched his palms.
The stairs finally reached the end, and outside the stairs led to an open area, which should be the rooftop.
"It's a rooftop, there's a reaction from a living creature, only one person."
Green Shadow's graceful Kaldorei language came from behind Alvin's ears, as plain as an autumn stream.
"Thank you. It seems that the other party has been deserted by everyone."
Alvin chuckled. He didn't care how many people were there. As long as they were not famous figures in history, he should be able to eliminate them easily.
He slowly walked towards the last few steps, trying to expand his senses as much as possible, trying to feel the magical fluctuations around him.
But no matter what he did, the magic in the air was dead, with no sign of flow.
That guy is just waiting there and doing nothing?
There was no spell casting, no ritual, not even any preparation. It seemed as if it was just quietly waiting for him.
Has this guy given up?
A barely perceptible smile appeared on Alvin's lips. He seemed to be a frightened idiot.
Alvin walked up the stairs. As he expected, the final battle site would be the rooftop of the base. The rooftop was leaky on all sides and had a red round roof like a big umbrella on top.
Looking around from here, you can take in the entire Hellfire Citadel. A circle of torches illuminates the entire rooftop as bright as day.
In the center of the rooftop, there is a tall throne. The throne seems to be made of the skull of some ferocious beast. Alvin seems to have some impression of it. In his memory, perhaps only the Gronn in Gorgrond in the north, or the primitive beasts in the dense forest can have such a big skull.
The backrest of this animal bone throne is ridiculously high. It is made of bones and reaches the roof.
He could imagine the once arrogant Chieftain Ner'zhul sitting on this throne. It was probably in this place that he planned the entire attack on Azeroth.
"You missed, shadow caster."
A hoarse voice echoed, and a massive figure slowly emerged from behind the throne. Its torso was long, its body short, and its muscles bulged. Its large bald head had a single, giant eye perched atop it. A few sparse stubbles, like steel needles, punctuated its chin, and its voice was like the pumping of a bellows.
It was a one-eyed ogre, the disciple of Ner'zhul that Ga'nar had mentioned.
"The Chief is right. You really have the ability to come to our world, hehe..."
The ogre's throat seemed to be filled with thick phlegm, and his voice sounded disgusting.
"But you made a mistake. The chief has left here a long time ago. Your efforts are in vain. As long as the chief opens the portal to other worlds, the tribe will continue to invade other worlds. You can't chase us forever. Hehehe, hahahahaha..."
"That's really unfortunate. It's a rare guest coming from afar, but Ner'zhul didn't even entertain him properly and just ran away first."
Alvin sneered. It was certain that Ner'zhul was not here. Even if the Alliance did not come, the black dragon would not make things easy for him. No one could survive the air raid of more than a dozen black dragons, not even the Horde.
He must try his best to find ways to escape from the Alliance and the Black Dragon.
"Since he's not here, we have no choice but to take over. This Hellfire Citadel will belong to the Alliance from now on, and you will become my prisoner. Tell me everything I want to know."
"huh huh huh huh......"
The ogre laughed with his hoarse, smoke-like voice, and his strange big eyes seemed to have no eyelids. He just stared there, looking very funny.
"Teacher, you left me here because I have a role to play. I've heard of you, the Scourge of the Dark Portal, the Shadow Caster, but I'll show you what a true shadow looks like."
This was not the first time that Alvin faced ogres, but it was the first time that he faced ogre mages. However, I heard that powerful ogre mages all had two heads, but this guy only had one head, so his strength should not be top-notch. Then why did Ner'zhul leave him behind?
"My name is Denta, and I'm from the Shadowmoon Clan."
As the ogre spoke, he bit his finger and used the gushing blood to cut a horizontal line across his forehead. Two filthy bloodstains glowed with fire above his single eye.
